"I want you,"  I told Alex.

He looked at me as if he wasn't expecting to hear that. But it was the truth; I knew in that moment that there was no one else I'd rather spend the rest of my life with but him.

It had to be him.

I looked at him expectedly, hoping that he would smile or say that he wanted the same. 

I waited and waited.

Suddenly, a small smile appeared on his lips, causing me to smile as well as I took this as a good sign. But before I could say anything, his smile disappeared, almost as if it was never there, before he left.

I lay in my bed, thinking of what had happened between Alex and me. I had finally came to the decision that he was the one that I wanted to be with; he was the one I needed to be with.

But as I had told him that, I couldn't help but to feel slightly guilty for rejecting Mike.

He was a great guy, but I didn't feel like he was for me. Although I tried to deny it, I did enjoy the few moments we shared. But that enjoyment was temporary, not long term like it was with Alex.

I rolled over as my thoughts came to an end, looking up at my alarm clock to find that it was time for me to get up and get ready for work. Heaving a big sigh, I willed myself to get out of bed and into the bathroom to get ready.

I walked downstairs when I finished, to find a note from my parents.

"We have an early morning today so we'll see you later. There's something in the living room for you, we found it at the door," I read it out loud.

Reading the note reminded me of when I would wake up to find notes from my parents on some days before school. I never thought that I would be doing it again at this age.

I walked to the living room when I remembered the last part of the note. I was surprised to find an evelope with a single rose laying on the center table. In the middle of the card, my name was neatly written, calling me open it.

I slowly picked it up and opened it to find a card.

As I finished reading, I saw a small section of the card had began to get wet. That was when I realized that I was crying.  

These lyrics were from the song that Alex and I had danced to when we first got married. It was a very special song to me and I couldn't believe that I had just read these lyrics.

Not only did it remind me of the best day of my life, but it also reminded me of the day that Alex decided to cook for me. It was the first time he had done something so special for me, and I couldn't forget how great it had made me feel.

I sat down on a sofa as the tears continued to pour. But a sudden realization caused me to wipe away my tears.

I had just read the lyrics to our wedding song. 

The only one who knew how important that song was, was Alex. And not only was it the lyrics to that song, it was also the exact portion that he wrote for me a few months ago.

What was going on? I thought to myself, slowly getting out of the sofa.

Was Alex trying to tell me something? 

I looked at the clock on the wall and rushed into the kitchen when I saw that was starting to get late for work.

Throughout the day as I worked, I couldn't help but to think that the message from this morning was from Alex. But what I didn't understand was why he had sent it.

When I had told him that I wanted to be with him, he had walked away quietly, as if he didn't believe me. Or worse, he didn't feel the same.

I looked up to see Ashley and Mary looking at me, with equally bright smiles on their faces.

"Did something happen?" I asked, eyeing them suspiciously.

They simultaneously shook their heads no, which was something I found very odd.

"Oh before I forget, Fae invited us to a house warming party next week."

"She did?" I asked, looking at Mary who appeared to be hiding something.

"Yeah, she moved into a new place because her old one wasn't working for her I guess," Ashley replied. I nodded my head as I walked towards my office.

Hearing about Fae's move reminded me of how I was living with my parents. It seemed that although I had moved out of the house I used to share with Alex, our problems were still consuming me. Maybe moving could help. It could be a fresh start if things didn't work out, a way for me to live independently.

I walked into my office to find a small envelope on my desk. I slowly walked to it and picked it up, opening it to find five words neatly printed inside:

It has to be you. 

There was no signature and I couldn't recognise the writting.

Could it possibly from Alex as well? I mentally asked myself, starring intently, as if I was expecting an answer to magically appear.

"Everything alright Victoria?" Ashley asked, walking into my office. I closed the card and held it behind me as I turned to look at her.

"Yeah," I replied with a small smile. She smiled back and nodded.

"I'm heading out then. Don't forget about Fae's house warming." I nodded my head and waved at her before she left, saying goodbye.

I quickly packed my belongings when she was gone before heading to my car.

As I drove home, I couldn't help but to think of the two messages I had recieved. 

Was it wrong for me to assume that they were both from the same person? From Alex?

I shook my head as I took a turn, not knowing what to think about the messages. Suddenly, I felt my phone vibrate simultaneously as I recieved a call. I waited until I had safely parked in front of my parent's house before calling back.

"It's me," I heard my mother's voice.

"Hey mom, did you want something?" I asked her, slightly concerned.

"Oh no, I just wanted to tell you that we'll be a bit late coming home." 

I nodded my head and muttered an okay.

"So we'll see you later?" she asked.

"Yeah."

"Okay bye─"

"Wait," I stopped her before she hung up.

"Is something wrong?" she asked worriedly. I didn't know what caused the idea to pop into my mind, but at that moment, it seemed like the right thing to do.

"No, I just have something to tell you and dad," I replied.

"Okay we'll talk about it when we get home."

I waited for her to hang up before doing the same and getting out of my car.

I looked at my parents as they sat before me, a small smile on their faces.

"What did you want to talk about sweetie?" my father asked.

I had enjoyed my stay here, maybe I had been a little too comfortable, but I felt like it was time for me to move on. I was a grown woman, and I couldn't let one heart break cause me to stay with them forever. It was time for me to get my own place, a new start.

"I'm moving out."
