" my my, you don't remember your own mother" she chuckled
My heart fluttered, mother? I thought she died. Tears fell from my cheeks to my chest as I ran to hug her, I heard her chuckle once more and ruffle my hair. That similar ruffle and similar voice of my mother wasn't enough to convince me, but she had to be her. I moved away from her and looked up, her dark black hair was now a dirty blonde, her eyes were like a cats. A bright yellow. She also had cat ears and tail, which was interesting but then again strange.
" M-mom" I stuttered and bit my bottom lip
" yes thats me" she crossed her arms
" I have so much to ask you, and dad. He can't live without you, why" I started to cry as she caressed my cheeks
" Im sorry I made him so depressed. A god is not allowed to talk to mortals honey" she spoke
" a god, wait mom your a goddess" I questioned as I heard some people laugh
" of course, the names Bast" she purred then it hit me
" the cats in town and in front of the palace, that was you trying to tell me you were here" I smiled
She nodded her head and hugged me another time. I couldn't believe the Egyptian goddess bast was my mother, of all people. How can this be?? I planted my hand to my face and groaned, honestly I was horrible at watching for signs it killed me. She moved away and smiled.
" I have to go, if you'd like to come with me" she asked
" I'd love to" I looked back at Duncan who purred against my thigh as I blushed
" has she learned her secret yet" mother asked Taylor who shook his head
" what secret"
" you'll see" mother spoke Egyptian and lifted me into the air. " this will only be for some time until you know how to use your magic alright" she soothed as I changed
I got back to the floor and looked at myself, Duncan chirped and actually spoke to me. I was a spotted panther, which kind of made me happy. I smiled and looked at my mom who changed into a striped taby cat, she jumped onto my back as I heard her yell run. I ran past the doors before realizing that I was flying, going out the tunnel doors the bright light almost blinded me. I stopped to look down, people were doing as they pleased, which was funny since I was in the air. Well walking on air this time. I glanced back at my mother who changed back into a human, she stretched her arms and legs before getting onto my back. I groaned and heard he chuckle.
" where to" I asked
" up into the sky, I want to visit an old friend. Taylor father, I think you met him before" she smirked and looked up to the sky
There was a mansion on glass, I wanted to cry but that was too late. I ran up, I don't know how but I did. The glass seemed easy to break, I was hesitant to step on it. Bast jumped off of me and landed on the glass, it turned different colors where ever she stepped. I stepped on it and changed back into a human.
" theres no magic allowed up here" a man spoke
" I guessed that much " I looked up to see Horus in front of me
" Its nice to see you again Casper, I'm glad you found your mother" he spoke and gestured to Bast who was walking around the living room.
" yeah, its nice to see you too Horus. Hey mom what did you want to talk to him about" I yelled getting her attention right away
Horus and I walked towards my mother, who was just standing there with her arms crossed. Once we got into hearing range she explained to him that I needed to find a magician to be an apprentice to. He understood but didn't know anyone of the sort. She sighed and they walked off talking in private, which got me thinking more.
Its been a while since I've seen my mom in forever, would dad love to hear she's still alive and lied to us, or no. I wanted to tell him, but he would be mad and happy at the same time. I wouldn't now how to tell him the truth about her, maybe she would have to do that but still. I really wanted to tell him. I took my phone at and looked at the photos I kept of mom, she was smiling and he was too. I opened the phone and dialed my father, which probably wasn't the best idea but to make him happy again I wanted to.
" hello Cas" he asked
" hey dad, I'll explain where I am later but I want to tell you something important" I muttered
" what is it, are you pregnant?" he asked once again
" no.. um mother is still alive" I spoke hearing nothing from the other side of the phone
" what?" he softly growled
" dad don't get mad it was for a reason that she can't explain or she'' die. Just please understand, I wanted to tell you because you two were so happy. I love making you smile, but I want her to make you smile again" I explained and heard him sniffle
" thank you Cas, I'm mad at her but hearing your voce knowing your okay is all that matters to me. I don't care if she still is alive, I'd rather have you make me smile" he replied making me want to cry so badly
" your welcome dad, well I have to go. I'll tell you everything when I'm allowed to come back " I muttered
I heard him say good bye as I hung up. Small tears fell from my cheeks before I looked around to see my mother crying as well. My eyes widened as she gave me a hug, I wanted to speak but nothing came out of my mouth. I gave her one of my death hugs, she chuckled and let go of me.
" i missed those so much darling" she muttered
" i know, wheres Horus" I asked changing the subject
" he's looking for a magician for you" she explained shortly
" so did he leave or something " I questioned
" yeah, we better leave or'll be kicked off this island of fun" she spoke sarcastically and made me turn back into a panther before I could speak again.
We got back to the palace under a palace, and was welcomed by everyone. Duncan and Jermey hugged me tight, I knew they would be back eventually. Taylor waved to me and just ruffled my hair as always. My mother left to her room, Jeremy followed her. Duncan stood next to me, Taylor was in front of me.
" first off Im not taking any apologizes from you and second what do you want " I mutter rolling my eyes
" What did my father say" he spoke
" nothing really, he's going to find a magician for me" I answer biting my bottom lip
" sorry I thought he was going to be your so called master. I can hear his thoughts" he explained further and chuckled nervously at me
" I'm not sure okay, all I know is that I'm going to be an apprentice. If not then mom will have you teach me" I smirked and bowed my head at him. D
Duncan chuckled and smirked at me. I wasn't about to yell at him or anything, I wanted to go back to being friends. Just the him here wasn't cutting it.
" if you still want to be friends Im up for it, but be the Taylor I met. Not the prince here okay " I muttered softly and walked past him.
I walked to my room, I sat on my bed and opened up the magic book. Duncan sat next to me purring as always. I opened to the back and saw the pages Taylor showed me back in my room. I sighed, that was literally a night ago. Before I agreed to come with them to Egypt and make me put my life at hold.
I seemed to me I was regretting coming here in the first place, why did I come? Because I wanted to see my mother. I glance over at Duncan who was looking at me weirdly, I rolled my eyes before tears fell from them again. I was done crying, I didn't want people to see I was weak. Like I always am. I patted his head and heard him purr, which made me laugh.
" I love you too weirdo" I whisper to hear him chirp
" yeah yeah " he muttered back blushing slightly
" you'll be here for me when I need you most, and Jeremy. Can I ask you something" I asked
" what is it Cas" he spoke in an Irish accent
" why does Taylor treat you horribly, you guys have feelings too. Even if you are dolls, they used magic to make you come alive" I replied
" Cas.." he didn't know what to say, " thanks for one. and I'm not sure why he treats us horribly, maybe because you give us more attention then you give himself " he questioned
" maybe, I wish he didn't act like a brat all the time. I actual fell in love with him " I whispered the last part and heard Duncan growl
I looked up from my bed to see Taylor looking at me, he was heart broken. He just covered his mouth and looked he was going to cry. I ran to him and hugged him, he hugged back. I knew saying that would hurt my relationship with Duncan, but I had to get that out. So he knew I still wanted to be with him, I just wanted him to be himself thats all.
" your so dense you know that" I rolled my eyes and jumped back onto my bed
" yeah I get that a lot " he rubbed the back of his neck and shrugged
" I'll see you later okay" I replied
" i'll be waiting on that" he pointed at me and left me alone with Duncan.
