Connor O’Sullivan’s POV
‘well, brother, I must say, you’ve done it now,’ my sister said as she came from my back. I turned to look at her before I rolled my eyes and sipped on my beer.
‘what do you mean?’ I asked her. I already what she was talking about but I just want her to talk the shit out herself.
‘well, you bring the enemy home while you’re engaged to her, you think Mhamó will let it go that easy? Keep dreaming brother. Your fiancée was having the worst time of her life,’ she said before she went to take my beer and sipped on it.
‘hey, get your own,’ I said before I snatched it from her.
‘yours better,’ she said before she mumbled something under her breath.
‘Shit,’ she mumbled before she gave me the cup again.
‘Sorry, got to go. Mum was shitting about something,’ she said before she disappeared through the crowd. suddenly, Ethan appeared at my side.
‘hey, dude,’ I said to him. He nodded at me. For someone that was as roguish as him, Ethan did not say much, well except maybe fighting with Ophelia.
‘where’s your girl?’ He asked me as he sipped on his cup. It must be the punch as Ethan not usually affected by this stuff.
‘well, my grandma took out for a spin. So, let’s hope she still wants to be with me after that,’ I said before I looked through the window as I chanted the spell to look through the wall.
‘well?’ Ethan asked me before my concentration was out. I could not find them in the backyard. Oh-uh…
‘i got to go, see ya,’ I said before I chugged my beer and went straight to the backyard. My heart was pumping so hard before someone stopped me.
‘hey, Connor. Long-time no sees,’ Silvia said to me. I was distracted by the fact that my Mhamó was about to kill my fiancée and now, she appeared. Fuck my luck.
‘Sil, can you move over, please? I need to go,’ I said as I was trying to walk past through her.
‘hey, come on. It has been 5 years since we’ve talked and now you want to go?’ She said as she was blocking my way. Damn bitch!
‘Silvia,’ i said as a warning. My ruby orbs were burning as I looked at her. She gasped before she bowed at me.
‘of course, sorry master,’ she said before I scoffed at her and I went to the backyard door through the kitchen.
‘Please be okay, please be okay,’ I prayed and when I opened the door, I could not believe it.
Alice Hughes’ POV
After my small talk with Connor’s grandma, she asked me to go for a walk with her. And if course, I was the one that has to push her since she was in the wheelchair.
‘come, child, the moon was bright tonight,’ she said as she was urging me to get her out of the party. It was crowded with all the family members of the O’Sullivan clan. I was happy to get out of there as well. We went out of the door and Clara asked me to park over the bench that was located under a tree.
‘come, sit child,’ she ordered me. I went to sit beside her as she was enjoying the night breeze.
‘can you feel it, child?’ She asked me. I looked at her as I saw that she was closing her eyes. She must be talking about the wind.
‘yes, it was nice,’ I replied as I was looking at the house. The life of the cheer and laughter warmed my heart. I smiled before I looked at my fingers.
‘what is it that bothering you, child?’ She asked me. I don’t think that she was looking at me, so when I turned, she was staring at me with those ruby orbs like Connor. It reminded me of him.
‘nothing, just stuff. Student’s stress,’ I said as I was looking at her. I was playing with the ring that Connor gave me as my mark that I was his.
‘why do you said yes, child? To my beloved grandson,’ she asked me. I was taken back. Beloved grandson?
‘erm, if it was not too personal for me to ask, is Connor your first grandson?’ I asked her. She looked at me intensely before she laughed.
‘what do you think, child?’ She asked. I don’t know, I thought I wanted to say that but I kept quiet. I just shook my head. yeah, that would be better than being sarcastic to an old lady.
‘i’m not that old you know. I just turned 60 last week,’ she said. old, I thought. I was still looking at her when she suddenly turned sharply at me. Uh-oh, what did I do?
‘well, sorry if me being 60 was too old for you, child. I think you’re saying yes to my grandson was a bit too young, don’t you think?’ She spoke as I was holding my tongue to answer her. She then suddenly sighed as I was sitting awkwardly with her at my side.
‘Look, I’m old now, child. I don’t know how long I can help Connor but if he thinks that you’re the better part of him, then I guess, I don’t have a choice but to welcome you to the family.
‘well, thank you for the welcome, ma’am,’ I said politely as I wanted to watch my language with this one. She laughed at me.
‘come on now, you can call me Mhamó as well,’ she said as she put her hand on my shoulder.
‘right. Thank you, ma—I mean, Mhamó. I felt like I was not welcomed by anybody but you make it a lot easier than it seems. So for that, I should be thanking you,’ I said as I turned my body to face her. She was smiling at me as I smiled at her.
‘well, take care of my grandson for me, Alice, because only you can tame him,’ she said before she kissed me on the forehead. I was stunned and yet I felt like I was supposed to be with them. Like a very long time ago. suddenly, something happened. I felt my face was burning and there was light coming in front of me.
‘Argh!’ I shouted before I was stumbled back for a while. The place where Mhamó was before was gone. She was gone.
‘Mhamó? Mhamó! Where are you?! Answer me! Mhamó!’ I looked at her wheelchair and there was a letter left for me.
remember to take care of him. He was the key as well as you, my dear. Be kind to each other and one day, you will make the path that humankind deserves.
I read the note before the door of the kitchen to the backyard was gone. Connor was huffing as he was running a mile. Tears were dropping onto my cheeks.
‘Where’s Mhamó? Where’s my grandma?’ He asked but I can only cry even more. I don’t know what to say, she told me to take care of her. I just stood there before he came to me and put his jacket around me.
‘i think you’re tired. Let’s go to bed,’ Connor said gently as he guided me toward the other entrance beside the kitchen. Honestly, I don’t think I care anymore as I just wanted to cuddle in my bed for now.
After a long journey, my eyes were closing in. I don’t have the strength to keep up with Connor as we went onto the bed. When Connor saw me that I was tired and about to fall off, he scooped me up bridal style.
‘Connor!’ I shocked by his action.
‘yes, my love?’ He replied as he was smirking at me.
‘get me down. I can still walk. What if people see us?’ I hissed as I was trying to conceal myself and Connor with people that was still having some fun downstairs.
‘don’t worry, we’re not to be seen. I have concealed us,’ he said as he went up the stairs, two steps at a time.
‘why you’re so eager?’ I teased him as I wrapped myself around his hardcore body. Being this closed to him, it brings out the worst of me. And I don’t want him to know that side of me. He smirked as he looked down on me.
‘getting restless, aren’t we?’ He whispered before he kicked open the door and went to close it with his feet. He walked toward the bed before he went to put me on it. I laughed as a response. What was wrong with me?
‘Why do you laughing?’ I asked him before he looked down on me. His ruby orbs were glistening dangerously as he looked at me with a smug on his face.
‘i think it was overdue now,’ he said as he crawled toward me on the bed. I still don’t get it but I think I know what he meant.
‘Connor, be a good boy,’ I warned him. For god’s sake, we just got engaged. He smirked before he laughed sinisterly.
‘now that old crook has gone, I can do whatever I want to you, little mouse,’ he said but it was not in his usual voice.
‘Connor?’ I asked him. But he just smirked at me. He was getting closer and closer to me.
‘Oh, I’m sorry. Connor was unavailable. It’s only you and me, sweetheart,’ he replied.
‘who are you?’ I asked him. He smirked before he showed me his perfect teeth.
‘why, it’s your darling, sweetheart, Clive,’
