Roy's P.O.V
Midnight, everyone is asleep but me. I was staring at my PC playing. Engrossed in the world of games and not a sound startles me. It's quiet and peaceful just like I like it...
CREAK!
Suddenly I heard a creak. Assuring myself that it's nothing, I got back to my game. It was then that I heard another creak. this time I decided to get up from my seat. I followed the sound outside my room hoping that I won't come face to face with a ghost.
I open my door and to my surprise, I spot Emma who seemed to be carrying what looked like snacks. She was tiptoeing not seeming to notice my presence. I followed her to her room.
Once in her room, she sighed as she placed the snacks on her desk.
"Okay, let's do this!" She said as she stretched her muscles before she sat herself down on the seat next to the desk. On the desk, there is a pile of books lying next to the snack. I watched her pick up one of the books and open it. she stares into the page for some time before scratching her head in frustration.
I could tell that she didn't get what she was reading. I decided to approach her. to my surprise she was doing a math question wrongly.
"That's not how you do it," I said before picking up the pen from the desk and scribbled numbers. I haven't always been bad at studying. In fact, I love learning new things. The reason why I don't put any effort into my studies is that that's exactly what my father wants.
If I do, get good grades he would send me away and I wouldn't be able to see Emma again.
"There. Do you understand?" I finished explaining the question and Emma only stares at me confused.
"What the heck?! What do you mean there? You barged into my room and just began explaining with no greetings! And I am supposed to understand just like that?" she blurted out and I couldn't help but roll my eyes at her childishness.
"But Wow! You really got the answer! I didn't know you were this good at math," She said looking at the calculations pleased. "I wonder how the heck you ended up in our class!"
I only explained one question and she is giving me so much praise! What the heck?
"Hey, could you teach me how you did that?" She pointed at the question.
"No," I answered curtly. "It's a waste of my time I am going to sleep," I said as I turn. Part of me wanted to see her beg.
"Fine! I bet I can do it myself!" She said quite to my surprise and I could only answer her with 'sure' before heading for the door.
"Wait! Please! Please you have to help me or else mom won't let me go to the dance workshop!" she begged and at once I turned to her.
"You won?" I inquire.
"Yes, I did! I too was surprised! Now I have to work hard if I want to meet Jenna Gallon!"
I didn't know who this Jenna Gallon was, but I couldn't help but smile. The memories of Emma dancing on the stage play in my head. How she danced gracefully without a care in the world.
"Fine, I'll help you," I said finally.
"Really? You are going to help me? without anything in return? Wow! you really have become generous!" She said and I glared at her.
Soon I began teaching her and she listened attentively, at least that's what I thought when I turned to my student, she was asleep! her head on the desk. A smile formed on my lips as I watched her sleep. I gently caress her hair as she sleeps.
"I really wish things were just as they were. How do I tell you that our parents aren't really married...and I am not your brother? How do I tell you that because you mean so much to me...I promised that I will leave?" I muttered silently as I stroked her hair.
Later I carried her up and laid her on the bed, covering her with her blanket. As I looked at her face I found myself planting a kiss on her cheek. I whispered goodnight before walking to my room.
