Episode 10 Continued - It's time.
I stared gently at Sebastian's chest as he carried me gently through the woods of this forest, holding onto me tightly as I kept my eyes trained to his black tailcoat.
We had been walking for almost twenty minutes, and I knew he was planning to take me somewhere before he finally extracted my soul.
It must've been some kind of ritual, then. I suspected nothing less from a demon.
I would've asked him where we were going, but I didn't want to break the silence that spread among us.
The silence that felt so warm and comforting, but also like needles grazing my skin endlessly.
It had been almost twenty minutes more before we entered a deserted town, and I gazed up hazily, feeling the pentagram in my eye brighten the closer we got.
Where was he taking me?
The walls of the buildings were old and crumpled, the houses looking centuries old with cobblestone walls and broken ceilings.
This place was in ruins. I wondered how long it's been here for.
Sebastian walked further and further into the deserted town, finally ending up at a large house that only had bits and pieces of the walls left in store, and he stepped over to it, gently carrying me over to the center—where a large, stone bench remained.
He then set me gently onto it, making my breathing weaken when he let me go at a sitting position.
"Is it time?" I asked him. "Or do we have to wait until midnight?"
It was currently eleven in the evening, so it wouldn't be that long.
"It's time," Sebastian answered darkly.
I weakened against the bench then and watched him carefully.
Sebastian just lightly bit the finger of his glove, pulling it off with his teeth.
As the white cloth fell to the floor, the pentagram on his hand glistened under the moonlight, along with the reflections off his black nails.
He stepped over to me then, kneeling down to my level.
He just brushed his hand along my face, making me close my eyes in response.
I didn't dare shove away, and I wasn't sure why. I guessed I wanted comfort, comfort from the source of my own demise.
"Master," Sebastian said quietly, and I gazed up at him hazily to find his eyes still swarming with red, "there's no need to be afraid. You will be safe with me forever."
My lashes lowered. "I know."
He just pulled my bangs away from my face, making me watch him tiredly.
"Will it hurt?" I said then, voice quiet. "Taking my soul?"
He pulled more hair out of my face. "I'll try to be gentle."
"No..." I said then, making his caresses still. "I just want... I just want to spend this moment with you. Because I don't know if it'll be the last thing I remember, and if it is... I want to live with it while I'm gone in eternal darkness. I want to sink this in. This moment... being the end."
He smiled softly, pulling my hair away from my face. "Very well, then I shall take my time."
"Are you doing it with your lips on mine?" I said then, lashes parting. "Extracting my soul?"
"There's no other way to do it, I'm afraid." He brushed his thumb under my marked eye. "It's the only way I can access your soul completely."
"Alright," I said then, gazing up at him. "In that case... I'm just glad it's you."
He smiled softly, the red in his eyes swarming deeper.
But he finally tipped my chin up, making me close my eyes tightly. "It's time, master," his voice was gentle. "I hope you sleep well. And dream of everything valuable to you. I will keep you close to me forever, I swear on it."
He leaned forward then, his red eyes piercing into my every being as he got closer.
And he set his lips on mine.
