Episode 9 Finale - Ruthless
Edward was not the culprit of the doll-house murders, but he was involved somehow.
I wasn’t sure, but knowing that he was there in the first place suggested that he knew something of it.
But Sebastian was right, he wasn’t the main culprit, or they wouldn’t have chosen a church.
It was like someone going into a police office and doing illegal trading on the sheriff’s desk.
I shoved the thoughts away then, gazing down at Sebastian as I sat on my bed, and he gracefully slid bandage wrap over my arms and hands.
He had been quiet ever since the fight broke out. I hadn’t heard him talk once.
I wondered if he was mad at me or something.
I did slap him.
After finishing bandaging me, he lightly pulled the sheets back and I laid down, snuggling under the covers when he tugged them back over me.
I gazed up at Sebastian hazily as he flipped off the light switch and left the room glowing slightly with his portable lamp.
He stood and bowed; lips thinned into a straight line as he gazed back down at me with dark eyes.
He then turned and moved to exit the room.
“Sebastian,” I said then, voice quiet, “stay.”
He stopped in his tracks and slumped his shoulders, and I could feel him close his eyes in annoyance.
“Just for a little,” I told him. “Until… until I fall asleep.”
He just turned back toward me and stepped over to the bed, kneeling beside it as I watched him curiously.
He set the lamp aside and locked eyes with me, but I could see the pain and anger in his expression. Although, he hid it well… it was covered by a depressed look, but I could see the rage boiling in his eyes.
I just held out my hand, and he gazed down at it suspiciously. “So I know you’re here,” I said then.
He gazed up at me for a second before listening, setting his hand in mine.
I felt my body weaken when his glove brushed against my skin, and I closed my eyes, relaxing into the mattress.
“Master…” he said then, and I parted my eyes, gazing up at him, “something’s been bothering me… about what you said.”
“What did I say to bother you so?” I said then, only half-teasing.
He just gazed up at me, eyes still dark. “You said that you were mine, and that you will never be his, and that you would never want to be his.”
My lashes lowered.
“Did you mean it?” Sebastian said then.
“I did.”
“Of all demons,” he said then, “you are only willing to give your soul to me?”
I gazed up. “Yes.”
His expression weakened then, and a small smile played on his lips. “I see… I understand now.”
I just lowered my lashes and closed my eyes. “Sebastian… why don’t you like dogs?”
He gazed up. “Huh?”
“Dogs,” I said again. “I saw the disgusted looks you gave that black dog Edward had. He was a real dog, too. Why don’t you like them?”
Sebastian was silent for a moment. “I like cats. Dogs are just too much for me. Cats are feeble creatures; you never truly understand them. That’s why I like them so much.”
He smiled then. “I dislike dogs for that exact reason. I actually hate them.”
Oh? Another way to annoy him? Hehehe…
I just parted my lashes then, smiling. “Woof.”
He gazed down at me in amusement. “Ah, you and Ciel are exactly alike. He did the same to me, you know. When I told him that.”
I closed my eyes again. “Well, we are the same person, after all.”
