Episode 3 Finale - Her Butler, Trained to Heal
I opened my eyes after taking a small nap, and I gazed lazily at a black and white form as my body remained a couple feet above the ground.
I blinked and gazed up then, finding Sebastian looking up as he carried me down the streets and back to the manor.
“Sebastian?” I said, brows drawing together. “What happened? Did you find something?”
“I’m afraid not, master.” He gazed down at me and sighed. “I was halfway through the library’s entire collection before I sensed something was off, and then a bunch of people broke through the windows in a calculated attack.”
“I slept through all this?” I said, blinking.
“Tired as ever, my lord.” He smiled down at me.
I blinked. “Well… did you kill them?”
“Naturally.”
“How?” I said.
He gazed down at me, brows arching. “Does it matter?”
“If the manager is going to walk in the next morning with blood all over the place, ten dead bodies that are dismembered and hanging from the ceiling, then yes.” I gazed up at him suspiciously.
He just hid his eyes as a large smile split his face, entire face covered in shadows as his demonic side showed itself. “Don’t worry. I cleaned it up.”
My lashes lowered and I rolled my eyes.
I don’t even want to ask.
I just gazed out to find the manor coming up from the end of the road, and then looked back at him. “Who were they after?”
His face was still hidden, smile still there. “You, I’m guessing, my lord.”
“Me?” I said, brows drawing together.
“Yes, it only seems reasonable.” He shrugged and peeked his red eyes out from the shadows. “Unless they were very keen on creating a calculated attack to steal their favorite encyclopedias. They must love them very much if that’s correct.”
I just sighed and shook my head. “Very funny, Sebastian.”
He hid his eyes again, the smile sharpening.
I want to ask what he’s thinking about, but I am a hundred percent sure I’ll regret it.
“I must say…” Sebastian answered then. “You are targeted often, my lord. It seems no one seems to understand that you’re mine.”
I smiled then, tipping my head back. “I guess you have to be more on edge, don’t you?”
He gazed down curiously at my comment. “Master?”
I chuckled coldly. “I mean… you’re contracted to protect me and remain my faithful servant. Clean house, fix everything that the other servants mess up. Make my morning tea.” I smiled a little. “And let alone all these recent attacks, as well as my current job already endangering me. And now you have to deal with people trying to assassinate me.”
His lashes lowered as I gazed up at him with a coy smile.
“Protecting me is going to be a difficult task,” I said, tipping my head to the side. “A very difficult one indeed.”
Sebastian’s lips curled then, and I watched his pupils shift into their cat-slits as his eyes glowed red. “I live for the challenge, my lord.”
“Indeed, you do,” I answered, lashes lowering. “My faithful demon.”
