Episode 10 Finale - It's time.
I stared at Sebastian as he buttoned up my night shirt, and I thinned my lips when he finally finished and gazed up at me.
He clearly could tell I was still rattled by the kiss earlier, but never said anything.
No, he wasn’t discomforted about it. He just liked watching me suffer in silence.
This demon.
He just pulled the string of my eye patch and let it fall, setting it on the nightstand seconds later.
He stood and pulled the sheets back, watching me crawl under before he pulled them over me.
He just bowed and picked up a lamp, bowing before me. “Goodnight, my lord. Sweet dreams.”
I light caught the sheets, teeth gritting when a sudden warm feeling filled me. A question I wanted to ask, and it was boiling through me like fire.
Don’t do it.
Do it!
No, don’t!
Yes.
No!
He started to the door of the bedroom.
“Sebastian,” I said then.
Goddamn it. I was buried now.
He stopped immediately, glancing back at me. “Yes, my lord? Do you need something?”
I gritted my teeth and tucked in on myself under the covers, entire body shaking as the question rattled through me like venom.
His brows drew together in worry. “Are you in discomfort? Do you need some pain medication?”
I just groaned in frustration and pulled the sheets back to expose the other side of the bed, and I scooted over to give more room on that side.
I then turned away, not facing him and dropped back down, crossing my arms over my chest.
There… this way it wouldn’t hurt my pride…
As much.
I could feel him smiling. “Is there something you want me to do?”
“I implied it, now do it.”
“Do what?” he said then.
I growled under my breath. “Stop with the questions and do it.”
He decided to tease me still. “Master, surely you understand I cannot do things without a direct order.”
“Sebastian, I swear to God—”
“Order me to do it, and I will,” he said then, eyes glowing in amusement.
I just kicked my legs out in frustration, continuing to growl in discomfort.
He just chuckled. “Alright, alright. Don’t get so riled up. You still have to sleep.”
I settled in on myself then, lashes lowering when I watched his reflection in the window in front of me.
He just pulled off his tailcoat and set it aside, sliding in on mattress behind me and drawing the covers over me higher. “Better?”
I nodded numbly.
He just reached over and caught the portable candle-lamp on the bedside, blowing out the small flame inside it and covering the room in darkness.
But I could still see his red eyes glowing in the reflection of the window.
Anyone would be terrified at the sight, but for me… it brought me comfort more than anything.
Being protected by the monster under my bed.
Now that’s something that I never thought could happen.
