Episode 18 Finale - Little Spy
“My, master,” Sebastian said as we all gazed up at the ship in front of us, “how did you manage paying for something this large? It’s very big, indeed, and can hold so many people. Must you have paid extra for lesser people, my lord? Isn’t the point of this to get the word out?”
I made an impatient sound as the horn sounded, starting toward the staircase that lead to the main dock. “I hate people. I would pay a million dollars if I had to.”
Sebastian and the four other servants followed behind me. “Master, you sure have your priorities mixed up, don’t you?”
“Sebastian, you have been smack-talking me for the last ten days now.” I glared over at him. “I am your master, stop it.”
He just closed his eyes, bowing slightly when we made it to the main dock. “My apologies, my lord.”
“All aboard!” the captain called, waving toward the last amount of guests entering the ship.
“All aboard?” Cammie echoed. “This is a ship, not a train.”
“‘Ey,” Carter said, “let ‘em workers have some fun, aight? They’re probably treated like shit by these rich folk.”
I gazed over at him then, brows arching.
He immediately shrank back, throwing his hands up innocently. “No offense to you, master! I was not trying to offend you in the slightest! You saved a homeless lad like me, ‘member?”
“No, you’re right,” I said then, closing my eyes and smiling. “I do treat people like shit. It’s one of my favorite tasks. Especially to my butler. Right, Sebastian?”
He just smirked down at me. “Assuredly, my lord.” He then looked over at Carter in annoyance. “The explicit language, Carter.”
He immediately paled and bowed quickly. “Fuck, sorry!”
I just chuckled.
The horns on the boat blasted through the air, and suddenly, we started moving.
I toppled over slightly, but Sebastian caught my arm.
“Careful, master,” he said then, smiling. “You wouldn’t look good as a floor mat.”
I gave him a look.
He just chuckled.
But—all the sudden—a man bumped into my back, making me stumble again when Sebastian caught me to help me steady.
I looked back, annoyed, but the man suddenly glanced down at me, making me blink when I saw him wearing a large, tan trench coat and a fedora of the same color. Small specks of his hair peaked out from his hat, colored a dark black.
He just smiled. “My apologies, young lady. My balance seems a bit off.”
He then walked off.
Sebastian immediately shot his eyes to look after him, lashes lowering in suspicion.
I watched his red irises glow as if he was suddenly angry.
“What is it?” I said then, glancing over at what he was looking at.
Sebastian watched as the man vanished into the small crowd. “That’s unfortunate.”
My brows drew together in question.
He just gazed down at me. “Master, I’d advise that you stay close to me. It is simply a command.”
“Why?” I said then, brows drawing together.
Sebastian just closed his eyes and smiled. “It’s just simply a beg, master. Stay close, please.”
I just narrowed my eyes at him. “Alright, whatever.”
Sebastian just gazed down at me, smiling. “You wanted this to be more interesting because you feared it’d be boring. Well, master, I would say that since he’s here, things are going to be very interesting, indeed.”
I arched a brow. “Who’s he?”
“Well, if I told you, this game wouldn’t be fun, would it?”
