Episode 6 Continued - Murder on the Agenda
I stared lazily into the room I laid in, having been on the floor for what felt like hours now.
I had been tied up like a fucking mummy, and it wasn’t very comfortable.
Seriously, what happened to tying arms and legs to a chair? Did they really have to wrap me in rope like I was being admitted to a mental asylum?
The man in the room just sat at his desk, legs kicked up as he puffed on a cigarette.
Of course, it was the trafficking ring who stole me away. They must’ve been onto me from the beginning. I was the one who ended most rings, anyway.
“Do you mind?” I said then, lashes lowering. “I’m very uncomfortable, you know.”
He gazed down at me then, not particularly amused. “Little Phantomhive, shouldn’t you be thinking about that deal I made with you?”
“I’m eighteen,” I said then, glaring, “not little in the slightest. And about that deal. A million dollars for releasing me? No, I will not. I don’t support thugs like you.”
He glanced at one of his men, and they just shoved their foot into my gut, making me lurch forward as my breath cut out.
I coughed then, struggling to catch my breath as the air I sucked in was no longer existent.
“I told you not to speak unless you agree,” the man at the desk replied, puffing on his cigarette. “So keep your bratty mouth shut.”
I just huffed, struggling a little. “Did you know cigarettes are the number one cause for lung cancer? They can even cause heart failure. Wouldn’t that suck? If a big mafia thug like you died from smoking a cigarette?” I laughed then, voice raspy. “Isn’t one of your most honorable deaths dying in battle?”
One of his underlings stuck me in the stomach, once more, and I lurched forward, coughing out blood this time.
“I told you to shut up,” he replied, glaring. “Little Phantomhive.”
I just closed my eyes tightly, breaths straining. “You’re making a big mistake. A very big mistake.”
“Really, now?” the boss said, letting his feet drop as he leaned on his desk. “Little Phantomhive has a trick up her sleeve? How adorable.” He then slouched back. “You’re tied up like a little child.”
I just caught my breath as a stream of blood slipped down my cheek, coming from a cut on my forehead. “My servants don’t appreciate it when I go missing. They will come searching for me, no doubt.”
He just puffed his cigarette again. “Don’t worry your pretty little head, I’m having them taken care of as of right now.”
My smile widened. “You think a little gun will kill them?”
“I think a hundred guns will kill them,” he answered, glaring down at me. “You only have five servants. They’re outnumbered.”
I laughed then, eyes closing tightly as I felt him tense. “You…” I calmed then, “you seriously think a hundred armed men are enough to kill my servants?” I laughed harder. “You’re more deranged than I thought.”
He just narrowed his eyes at me. “Stop with the overconfidence, little Phantomhive. It’s not fooling me.”
“No,” I said then, smiling at him as blood slipped lightly into my mouth, “I’m not fooling anyone. They will come for me, I promise you. And you will earn no money, just the sweet relief of… death.”
