I turn around and try to catch my breath as tears stream down my face. I sit behind the counter, still overwhelmed by what happen was he really going to pull the trigger, why would he have a gun on him, will he be killed for this? my head was filled with questions I know was would never be answered. A lump forms in my throat and my heart continues to pound hard and My hands shake. I slowly wipe some of the sweat off of my chest with my shirt then wipe my hands on my pants. I take a deep breath before I stand up.
A moment later I wipe away my tears that fell from my light green eyes wand tie back my golden straight hair that is past my shoulders its slightly wet from the heat. I drink some water that is nearly warm and push the events of the arrest out of my mind and move on. Then suddenly Jake comes in "Hey Linds guess what!" he says excited. "hey what is it? kinda busy here" I say as I go to put more food on the shelves from the fridge. "I have a surprise I need to tell you" he continues, then he holds up 2 cruise tickets. "Happy birthday, I won theses yesterday, while buying a few items at the covenant store and thought it would be hell of A way to celebrate my little sister turning 19 on a 7 day exotic island trip." He says excited with a big smirk on his face pleased with him self. A huge excited smile appears on my face as I quickly hug him. "wow that is amazing" I say surprised. "were going on a curse" he says determined and thrilled. "yeah, uh wait when do we leave I say suddenly concerned. He pauses and then another mischievous smirk appears on his face. "Tonight at 5" he says "Wait what!, but we cant, I-I mean where not prepared,we didn't pack or inform anyone!" I say uneasy.
"not to worry I knew you would get worked up about this, so I informed our bosses this morning along with our neighbors. "well, for packing, I said your leaving work early for that" he assures me and grabs my arm as he takes the key behind the counter and locks the door for me on our way out. "So now you have no excuses " he says and I follow stunned.
