That selfish idiot had used Janet! Once we were out of the house, Janet faced Jason with tearful eyes. "Today, by any chance did I get used by you?" Jason hung his head in shame. She left sobbing. That set me over the edge.
"Jason?"
"Wha..." I punched him square in the face. We ended up fighting. I lost eventually, Jason being much stronger. Moreover he fought in the streets and also knew boxing. But I was sure I did considerable damage to his face.
Janet's P. O. V:
That freak! He tricked me and made me look like a fool in front of his father!
Why did I crush on him? Why did I even become friends with him?
***Back to sixth grade***
"You're the best, Janet. We are counting on you. Have these ready by tomorrow," John, the events coordinator said as he left the classroom. I stared at the huge pile of paper flowers I had to make for the function the next day. There was no way I could finish them. It was already 5.00 PM and I was still in school.
The door opened and a boy in my class peeked inside and when he saw me, he came over and started helping me with the flowers and I didn't even ask him to!
"I'm Jason. What's your name?" he piped up.
"Janet. Thanks for helping me."
"What? You don't leave a friend behind!"
***Enough! Back to present and reality! ***
That's why.
Jason's P. O. V:
Janet didn't come to school. I felt very guilty. I asked Ms Emily why she had not come, she replied that Janet was sick. During gym class, I felt my phone buzzing in my pocket and took it out. It was Kelly. She asked me to meet her in the park after class.
After class was over, I went to the park wondering why Kelly wanted to meet me. I spotted her in the distance with an ever-so-calm look on her face. Just as I expected, she had called me just to talk to me about nothing in particular so I told her everything that had happened with Janet.
She seemed to be in deep thought and said after a while, "You know you must apologize to her, right?"
"Yeah, I know but I seriously doubt that she'll let me anywhere near her again. I mean I royally screwed things up. Had my dad stayed silent, I'd have explained everything to her after it was over but my plans went down the drain," I sighed.
"You know what? You worry too much. Okay now answer these questions," she said and continued,
"What do you consider Janet as?"
"The best friend I could ever ask for."
"How did you two meet?"
"I helped her with some class duties and we became friends."
"How long have you been friends?"
"Well, more than half a decade..."
"Okay, then she'll listen to you. Yes, she might push you away at first because after all, you betrayed her. But eventually, she'll let you explain," she finished. I nodded in understanding.
We went home after that. But for some reason, Kelly was always touching and rubbing on me and I didn't like it. Yes, I did fall for her but it didn't work out as she rejected me. Though it hurt at first, eventually we ended up being friends.
Anyway I had to think of a way to apologize to Janet.
[Kelly seems to be a good girl right? Wrong!]
Kelly's P. O. V:
Ugh! I called him so that I could try to get together with him but that seemed a bit hard because one, he was so in love with his math teacher and two, that girl, Janet obviously liked him too. Janet might not be a big problem but if things got horrible with the teacher, I might lose Jason to Janet.
Think. Think. Ah! I have a plan. He he he. [Uh oh!]
Jason's P. O. V:
The next day, Janet acted as if I didn't even exist. I couldn't take it anymore so I blocked her way and demanded that she hear my explanation. She accepted my apology after I explained everything, well not everything, I left out Ms Emily coming with me to the music concert and instead told her that it was an old friend whom father hated. That did not matter to me. What was important was that Janet and I were back to our old selves. But I had to take her out to some place as an apology.
Just after my truthful-ish explanation, George came up to me and asked how it went. I told him that I left out that Ms Emily was the one who went with me. "YOU CALL THAT TELLING EVERYTHING?" George yelled at me. "You left out the important part!"
"It doesn't matter anymore," I replied.
"Okay but really, don't ever do something like this again. Next time I won't forgive you so easily," he said. I nodded and we parted ways.
I spent most of the evening in mindless chatter with Aunt. I don't know how but our little talks easily span a couple of hours. After a while Aunt went to her room to finish some work and I went to sleep as it was already pretty late.
My sleep was however not so nice. Of all times, the mosquitoes had to pick that day to punish me and the apartment had the dire need to have a power outage.
Yeah, thank you dear fate, I really needed mosquito bites topped with sweat. And for the finishing touch, my phone started ringing.
Eleven fifty in the night! Who the heck would want to call me now?!
I looked at my phone. It was Kelly.
What is it she wants at this time of the night? Ah, I just remembered. I had to take Janet out somewhere as an apology. I'll ask Kelly's help.
J: Yello?
K: How did it go? Did you apologise?
J: Yeah. I did...
K: Oh, just wanted to ask. Did you explain everything?
J: Yes. Anyway, you have a part time job in the water park right?
K: Yeah why?
J: Can you get me six entry tickets for Saturday, please?
K: Saturday? But that's the day after tomorrow. That isn't enough time. But don't worry I'll get them for ya.
J: Thank you, bye and goodnight.
And I hung up. At least something good came out of that call in the middle of the night.
A/N: Hmm. Why is Jason asking for six entry tickets instead of two? What is the guy thinking?
How was this? Good? Boring? Bad? Crappy? Let me know via comments.
