Emily’s P. O. V:
That was the second time I completely lost control around that boy. I suddenly remembered that both of us had barely gotten any sleep. Very reluctantly I broke the kiss and gestured him to go inside, pointing to my watch. He nodded in agreement and went away quietly.
The next day was sure to be exciting and I kind of expected that but what actually happened was beyond my expectations.
“Well you know that the exams are approaching so prepare well,” I announced and looked at the students. They didn’t seem so pleased by what I had just said. My gaze randomly fell on Jason and I was shocked. He was full of smiles, beaming in front of everyone.
And I told him to keep it to himself not long ago.
“Uh… class president, dismiss the class,” I said concentrating too darn hard so as to not give away any clues about my reddening face.
Janet stood up to dismiss the class. As lucky as I could be, she saw right through my ruse and gave me a disgusted look. But she hid the hatred and simply dismissed the class. I went outside blushing because of that fool and at the same time giving him a warning glare.
My concentration was not so helpful to me as almost everyone saw me blushing on the way out. Some ‘oooh’ed, some ‘aww’ed and some of the boys deliberately teased me loudly.
Crazy crazy crazy. How could he let it show in front of the whole class? I was moving about restlessly in my place thinking about what happened in class. I was interrupted by one of my colleagues asking me if I was alright. It was so darn embarrassing.
No I can’t let this continue…
I shouldn’t have admitted that I loved him…
But my heart did skip a beat when he kissed me…
I was interrupted again this time not by someone but by Carrie. “Uh… sis, are you trying to do a one-man show or something?” she asked. “Ms Caroline, I thought I told you to address me differently at school,” I said.
“Maybe it’s because you got a boyfriend or something?” she asked. “Shut up. What the heck are you talking about? If there’s anything to tell you, I’ll tell it to you at home, not here...” I said trying my best to keep her voice down. She just wouldn’t keep quiet. “You’re not saying anything about that so I’m gonna take that as a yes,” she said.
Desperate times call for desperate measures.
“MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS YOU IDIOT,” echoed my voice through the entire staff room making more than one or two heads turn in my direction. Oh well, time to leave, I thought as I took my bag and went outside leaving Carrie tomato-red with embarrassment.
Janet’s P. O. V:
After the class was over, I spotted Jason and George walking together. I went up to them just in time to hear what they were talking about. “I think something interesting has happened lately. You seem to be in a good mood,” said George.
I noticed it too. Jason was visibly happier recently. Moreover Ms Emily was also giving off a happy aura. Had something happened between them? Had they started going out as lovers? Just the mere thought of that made me shudder in disgust. I mean, how could she who was old enough to be his aunt, shamelessly entertain him and give him unnecessary attention?
Thinking about that made me ruminate about the times I had seen them kissing; during the mountain trip and in the movie room. Those were the only times they had been caught by me. I didn’t even know how many times they had kissed when they were alone. To make things more horrifying, they even lived in the same apartment.
I just could not see what it was that Jason saw in a woman who was so much older than him. I also wondered what kind of moral boundaries the lady possibly had if she could seamlessly let him love her and not nip the issue at the bud.
I caught up with them and joined in their conversation. “Yeah, care to tell us why?” I asked.
“What are you talking about?” he asked and then randomly said, “Hey George, the next period is free, let’s go to the internet centre and play that game we were talking about. I like the characters in the game.”
George however didn’t understand that what Jason was blabbering was a part of his plan to escape from me because he cringed and said, “Like? Those characters creep out both of us.” But I just let it slide and let them go. Jason eventually told me everything or I knew them by some other means so it wasn’t that big of a deal anyway.
Jason’s failed attempt in making us shut up was further ruined by a sweet voice calling out to him. It was none other than Ms Caroline.
Jason’s P. O. V:
George and I were walking towards the internet centre when Ms Caroline came to us. “We need to talk,” she said. “Alone,” she added turning towards George with a ‘hope-you-understand,’ look.
No… Please don’t ditch me…
“Ah, Jason, I just remembered. I have to go to the library now. We’ll play the game later,” he said and went away with Janet who’d been standing there.
Great. I thought as Ms Caroline dragged me about in the campus till we reached the cafeteria.
“What is it?” I asked her as we sat down at a corner.
“Well, something clicked in place between you and Emily didn’t it?” she asked.
“Uh, you can say so…” I trailed off.
“So you are now like boyfriend and girlfriend?” she asked in a rather loud voice making some of the other students look at us curiously. Thankfully she wasn’t so foolish as to blabber Ms Emily's name out loud.
“Don’t rush. We’ve just confirmed our feelings. Keep your announcer mouth shut at least till I finish school,” I literally begged her.
“What? So you’re just gonna mope around? I know her well enough to know that she will be too shy to make the first move, you know she’s very conservative and all.” she said.
“What am I supposed to do?” I asked.
“Geez you are too dumb,” she sighed, frustrated. “Take her out on a date birdbrain,” she suggested.
“What if someone sees us?” I asked. Yeah, I’m good at infuriating people.
Carrie looked as if she was boiling inside. “That ‘someone’ can stick their head in a kitchen sink for all I care,” she yelled making quotes in the air around the word, someone. “Alright, alright calm down. And thanks for sparing time to talk to me,” I said. “What? Why are you talking as if you were the one who called me?” she asked.
“No, I just needed someone understanding enough to talk about these things. Thanks for being there…” I said. She just smiled and said, “Anytime boy,” and left.
Kelly’s P. O. V:
After what happened at the stadium, I was literally seething with rage all the time, getting worked up and yelling at people for the simplest of things.
I just couldn’t believe that he rejected me so flatly to go behind that teacher. We used to be like iron and magnet. Even after I rejected him at first, we remained good friends. The moment the lady joined the school marked the start of Jason becoming distant by the minute. I made up my mind.
If Jason isn’t for me, he isn’t for anyone.
“Kel, is everything okay? Is something bothering you?” asked dad. He and mom came to visit me one last time during their stay in London before leaving for Japan where they worked.
“Ah, it’s nothing pa…” I said.
“Okay, we’re leaving now. See you next time sweetie…” he said and hugged me followed by mom. They left after that and I sat down to lay out my plan. I knew for sure that my mind was poisoned beyond repair but I couldn’t care less. The thought that I no longer had a chance to be Jason’s girlfriend burned out the last traces of good in my mind. I had more than a month off before I had to go back to university.
I’ll be needing a family member. Brother will definitely help.
[Who is the brother??]
A/N: Well, I think most of you expected this turn, or did you?? :D Oh, and please do comment your thoughts, opinions (vent out your frustration at this new turn of events) :D :D
Now, until I come back next Saturday, ya'll have all the time in the world to guess who Kelly's brother is. Yes, he has come in the story already :D
Tentative update date: 23rd July. Ciao :))
