"How is the patient related to you" asked the lady at the registration counter to Jason. Without a second thought, he answered, "My fiancé," and continued filling out the forms given.
"You're good at lying" I said as he sat by me in the lobby waiting for the doctor to call me. "Well, it's not like we're gonna come here often. No one will find out, plus no annoying questions," he replied. He was right. The true identity was not really necessary, besides it was not as if I wanted to pour out all the details. I valued my job too much for that.
Pretty soon the doctor called me in. After the checkup was over, I couldn't make out the expression on the doctor's face. The monotonous white colour of the clinic walls save the one area where a photo was hanging was not, I repeat not helping. Out of nowhere, the doctor took out a sheet of paper which I guessed was my doom. She looked at it and smiled.
What?! Oh my, she's happy, which means I am pregnant! The drunk idiot did get naughty! Just great.880Please respect copyright.PENANAf74A29cJbe
"You're not pregnant. Tests can sometimes be wrong," said the still smiling obstetrician. Oops! How could I even look at Jason after what just happened?
I went out of the consulting room. Jason saw me and walked over. "Well, what did the doc say, huh?" he asked with a hint of annoyance. "Um...Sorry, I guess..." I trailed off. "It's okay and I'll pay you for the lens," he cut me off stressing on the word 'lens' as he left.
Jason's P. O. V:
After what happened at the clinic, Ms Emily was trying her best to avoid eye contact with me. I could understand that. However that distant feeling was pretty harsh for me. I longed to talk to her even if it was for a silly issue. Sitting in the classroom thinking about that, I lost track of time and was just a little late to the cafeteria but the food was already over.
I had come to school in a rush that morning so I skipped breakfast too. The result? By the start of the afternoon session I could barely stand properly. I was feeling very tired so I went to the nurse's office and was lying down there when Ms Emily came there asking for aspirin. The moment she saw me, she asked what was wrong and for that one moment, I saw her as a friend and blurted out that I had come just to lie down.
Emily's P. O. V:
How dare he say to a teacher that he had come to the nurse's office during class hours just to lie down! And even the nurses seemed to favour him. I practically dragged him out. "Why were you there?" I asked still gripping his cheek. "I didn't eat lunch. I was feeling tired so I went there to lie down, end of story. Happy?" he replied swatting my hand away. I felt bad for jumping into conclusions. We went outside and to the cafeteria and sat down at a table. There was no point in looking for food in the cafe so I took out my lunch box.
My sister had made one of her best dishes for me that day. It was my favourite, something that I refused to share even with my colleagues. I looked at it, then at the hungry boy in front of me. Compassion got the better of me and with a sigh, I pushed it to Jason. He accepted it rather happily and started digging hungrily.
"What are you going to eat?" he suddenly asked when he was already halfway done eating my own lunch. Took you a while I thought. "I'm on a diet," I said, of course a lie. He gave me the remaining food saying," It doesn't seem like you can lose any more weight, besides you look very beautiful like this." I blushed.
Oh wait. Why did I blush?
Ugh!!
Jason's P. O. V:
"So, what are your interests? Do you like movies?" I asked her casually on the way out of the cafeteria. "Um yeah but I like music concerts better. I was hoping to see this one concert that had an ad on T.V. But the tickets are way too expensive for me to afford," she sighed.
She likes music. I made a mental note to myself.
"Hey, why are you asking questions like that?" she suddenly asked.
"Oh that's nothing. Just getting to know you better," I replied with a smile.
We talked for a while then went on our ways.
Mr Jacob's P. O. V:
"Come in" I said to my assistant who was standing at my office door. "Have you got the tickets" I asked. He gave me an envelope with two tickets. I was going to give those to Jason. Recently he seemed to be in love so I might as well do that one favour for him.
I knew that Jason didn't like me much. I didn't really like him much either. At first the hate budded because I blamed him for my wife's death. After that the hatred grew as he became a delinquent always getting into fights and earning me disrespect. Furthermore my sister always supported him and sometimes would go so far as to fight with me. With Jason, she was ever so friendly to the point of hugging him whenever she saw him, leaning on his shoulder watching TV with him at night and even sharing mouth-corner kisses!
What was more? He already had a mansion in his name because of my dad's will so even if I left him to fend for himself, he wouldn't be homeless. But no matter what, it wasn't like I didn't care for him at all. He was still my son and I felt responsible for him, at least till he got into college.
I went home with the concert tickets hoping that Jason would like them. "Where is he?" I asked my sister. "In his room" she replied. I went into his room. He was studying and looked up from his table. "Whassup dad?" he asked. "Are you dating a girl?" I asked bluntly. "Um... Err... I wouldn't call it dating but..." "Okay" I cut him off, put the envelope on the table and said, "There are two music concert tickets in this cover. Go with that girl if you want. Mind you, they are costly. Don't waste them."
Jason's P. O. V:
Dad was giving me tickets to the very concert Ms Emily was talking about! I was overjoyed at the blind coincidence. I would ask Ms Emily to come with me. Dad left without another word. I never really expected anything either. Dad was a bit distant if you ask.
The next day I was waiting for Ms Emily after class. Luckily I saw her coming alone out of the office building. I went to her and gave the tickets. "I was wondering if you would watch the music concert this Saturday with me...," I trailed off and looked up at her. She looked, angry?
A/N: Why is she angry? What'll she do??
