I'm dedicating the finale of my first story to Tigerlily. Most of you probably know that she's pretty cool. Good in English, good at critiquing but above all, a good person on a whole. Unfortunately, her job as a doctor doesn't allow her to come online as often as she likes but despite all that, she has opened an account here and is having fun. Let us all hope that this site helps her to release the immense stress and pressure that her job puts on her.860Please respect copyright.PENANAoE9El5qeyO
I literally felt like I had come out of a thicket to a clearing. I felt so relaxed and refreshed and that showed in my academic performance. I did the exams exceptionally well and it paid off well. I decided to pursue my secondary dream of becoming a renowned car specialist rather than becoming a movie director as that one held a few sour memories. So I joined in the adjoining college where both Janet and George also joined. Ms Caroline and Clark became virtually impossible to separate, much worse than love-struck teenagers.

And it turned out that all the time Janet had been crushing on me, George had stayed in the shadows secretly admiring her. However it also turned out that he hadn't been that secretive after all. Janet told me that they had challenged each other that they'd become a couple if I got together with Ms Emily!
"Well, we've gotten together, haven't we?" I asked, stifling a laugh.
"Yeah but don't think so highly of yourself because we were gonna get together anyway," replied Janet.
"Nah uh, I think I just heard a big fat lie," interrupted George.
"Ah, shut up. After all it was me who made the first move by setting up the challenge," she replied, sticking her tongue out at him.
"But hey, I did say it once, you know. You brushed it off saying I was joking," George replied attempting a pout and failing horribly. "Oh, did you? My bad. Okay come on let’s go somewhere,” Janet said, taking his hand and went away. Well they’ve clicked in place. I thought as I realised one unusual thing; Clark was not near Ms Caroline. No sooner had that thought crossed my mind, Clark came up from nowhere and started cuddling with Ms Caroline.
“Oh for crying out loud! Can you please take your cuddly affairs somewhere private?” I asked.
“Why should we?” countered Clark and resumed kissing Ms Caroline. “Why did I even bother?” I asked giving myself a face palm.
About five years later…
Emily’s P. O. V:
“You may now kiss the bride,” said the pastor. Jason lifted the thin white veil that covered my face and placed a soft kiss on my lips. “I love you so much, Ms Emily,” he said. I couldn’t help but giggle at that. All that time calling me, “Ms Emily” had toyed with his mind because after all, he did sit in the classes as my student. “It’s not Ms Emily anymore, you nitwit! Better yet just call me Emily or Em from now on,” I retorted and he nodded with a silly smile.
Everything went on so peacefully. At one corner, as expected, Caroline and Clark were busy kissing. They got married a year ago and were expecting a baby. The newlywed couple, George and Janet were chatting away as if they hadn’t seen each other for years.860Please respect copyright.PENANA2EMYypSGKe
As I was talking to Jason, my eyes fell on a certain figure lurking in the shadows. Jason saw it and asked me to come with him. We went over to the other side of the church. The figure was none other than Kelly. She looked ghastly, more like a corpse awoken and put on steroids. “You’re so mad at me that you don’t even want to look at me anymore, aren’t you?” she asked Jason. Even her voice had changed from the velvety voice to a raspy one.860Please respect copyright.PENANAlaQa6hm3Z1
“Thing is, I’m not mad at you, I feel sorry for you. You turned out to be the enemy I never expected. Well, let bygones be bygones. Go out, meet someone and start fresh. That’s all I can tell you. But for now, come, don’t hide,” he replied.860Please respect copyright.PENANA92VVQfznYU
“Oh, you want me to move on? You're the happy one here and I'm the one who has lost everything. I lost Emmett and my parents are too disgraced to even look at me, let alone think of me that they kicked me out and I had nowhere else to go so I came back here. Do you think moving on is a minute's job?” she asked back, irritated.
“No, I'm not saying that it's easy. All I can say is this one thing; you've got to move on. You have to get over me. I know it's hard and that it hurts so bad at first but it has to be done. So come on out,” he said gesturing her to follow us.
Jason and I went back to where the others were. Kelly sat alone at a table. We were surprised to see Kenneth standing at the entrance. Jason went over to him while I a little stayed behind. Kenneth probably thought that Jason was going to him to beat him up as a streak of panic and fear flashed across his face. They just stood there in silence for a while so I went near them. After a while, Kenneth said, “Um, I came here to… uh… congratulate you for your marriage and to apologise for fighting with you back at school. I know it’s stupidly, laughably late but try to understand.”
“Well, aren’t you gonna come in?” Jason asked and Kenneth looked at us, shocked. “Really?” he asked. “Forgive and forget, dude,” Jason said beckoning him inside. “By the way, have you seen Kelly?” he asked with a longing voice. “Am I sensing love here?” I asked in a teasing voice. He looked down with his face turning red and asked “Is she here or what?” I kept smiling at him. “Gah! Alright, alright I admit it. I've been crushing on her for a long time now but I heard rumours that she was taken so I kept quiet,” he said. “In that case, she is perfectly single though she is in a bad mood now and she is sitting there,” Jason said, pointing to the table where Kelly was sitting at.
“You seem to be an efficient cupid,” said Caroline to Jason after Kenneth left. Of course, Clark was nearby. “Not anywhere near you,” he replied and added, “And finally you decided to give my poor brother some rest.” “Shut up! Come on honey lets go away from Mr Jealousy,” she said pulling Clark away, to French kiss him probably. From the day they got together, Jason and I would catch them kissing like there was no tomorrow at least for the better part of every day!
It was all very quiet until Jason lost his mind. He walked up to Luke who was trying to showcase his piano skills to his girlfriend, Tina. Jason pushed the slim guy off the piano stool and started playing a song which made everyone to not just listen, but also to look at their better halves with fresh, new-found love. It was none other than ‘Never seen anything quite like you’ by the band, ‘The Script’.
Jason fixed his eyes on me the whole time he was playing the piano and was singing along. I had to say that even if I hadn’t admitted to having been impressed by him until then, I was flattered by his love at that very moment to such an extent that I wasn’t afraid to show it.
I heard more than just his voice and the sound of the piano. I heard his feelings pouring out towards me.
“Oh well I’ve seen you in jeans, with no makeup on
And I've stood there in awe as your date for the prom”
As he sang those lines, the deep-etched memory of Jason and I going to the music concert came right before my eyes. I too had worn just jeans and a T-shirt on that day.
“I’m blessed as a man to have seen you in white but I’ve
Never seen anything quite like you tonight…”
That did it. I didn’t care that I was standing in front of people who knew me. I didn’t care that all the people were watching my every move. I just couldn’t control the tears which I stuffed in up until that time. I stood there, transfixed, letting out the tears of joy and love which were obviously bottled up for too long. I fixed my gaze on his eyes as I started walking straight towards him, wondering what I had done to deserve a life with such a loving and caring guy like Jason, a life which most girls in the world dreamed of but only a lucky few had the chance to experience.
Just as he finished the song, I reached where he was sitting. Wasting no time, I practically jumped on him and locked his lips with mine. Just as I expected of Jason, he held my body with ease and kissed me back. As you can understand, that was quite obviously one of the best days of my life.
Jason sent his résumé to various automobile companies but not one of them responded. So till things straightened out, he worked as a mechanic. Not losing hope, he applied for more companies hoping that one of them would respond. He also vacated the apartment after finishing college and moved to the house that his grandfather had left him.
With Jason, things simply worked like a charm. I knew all of his ups and downs and he knew mine. Sometimes we got into petty arguments like all other couples in the world do but before it could even pass for a serious quarrel, one of us would come up with something hilarious and the argument would get buried deep.
Each new dawn only brought us closer and more in love. We had no worries or concerns about what the society would think of our so-called 'forbidden' relationship. All that mattered was that we loved each other and cared for each other just like any husband and wife would do.

And as for the so called old school elderly folks, just one word about Jason’s dad being in favour of our marriage shut them up. Yeah, his dad was such a fearsome and influential person.
On one such fine day, the doorbell rang. “I got it,” Jason and I said in unison and then burst into laughter at that. Opening the door, I came face to face with a postman. He handed me an officially sealed letter. I thanked him and closed the door. The letter was obviously from some company so I handed it to Jason. “What is it?” I asked, walking up to his side as he started tearing the envelope. He just shrugged as he opened it. He read it and a smile, the width of the pacific glued itself onto his face.
Curiosity got the better of me and I snatched the letter and looked at it, leaning my head on his shoulder. It read,
“Mr Jason Reed, we are delighted to inform you that you have been appointed as a testing Engineer of the quality control section in the assembly line at the Gaydon factory. Wishing you a pleasant experience with us. Further details are in the annexure"
Sincerely,
Aston Martin Lagonda Limited.”

“So you’ve got the job of your dreams, eh?” I asked with a small smile crawling up my face. He put his arm around my small frame and pulled me closer to him, hugging me tightly. “Everything I ever asked God for," he replied flashing me that affectionate look which I loved and placed a gentle kiss on my head.
And as they say……………………………………………………………….
The rest is history.
