Alexander's P.O.V.-
Around the time Quinneth was at The Tribune..
"So, you beat him in the parking lot under twinkling lights?" Christian asked trying to wrap his head around the situation.
"He gave me no choice." I tell him. When I saw him put his hands on Quinn, I lost it. You should have seen her... I've never seen so much fear in a person's eyes." I shake my head trying to get rid of the memories.
"What happened after that?" Aren asked chiming in.
"I took her home. We went up to her room so she could fix my hand." Christian and Aren both look at each then look at me. I pick up what they're getting at.
"Nothing happened so stop looking at each other like that. We just kissed that's all." I say nonchalantly. Both of their eyes widen at me.
"Oh, my guy. Good for you." Christian says dabbing me up. Aren rolls her eyes at us.
When she told me that she just wanted to just be friends it really did hurt me. At the same time, I understood where she was coming from. She just broke up with that douche she called a boyfriend, and she might need time to recuperate and figure out who she is without him. Also, she didn't say no to the idea of dating me. She's my mate so her feelings for me are permanent, she'll come around and I'll wait for her as long as possible.
"Now, you know when we werewolves get angry... certain things can come to light. Did anything peculiar happen?" Aren asked me.
"I don't think so." I reply back.
"You don't think so?" Christian asked lifting a brow in curiousness.
I lean against the counter thinking to myself. It was a lot that happened that night and it happened so quickly. I don't really remember anything 'peculiar happening.' Suddenly, something comes to mind.
"I know that face, what happened?" Christian asked leaning on the counter, intrigued.
"Well... when she put her hand on my arm to get me to stop beating up Myer's, she freaked out as she was looking at my face." I bring my hand to my eyes, when I get angry my eyes change colors.
"Oh god." Aren puts her head in her hands as she shakes it in disbelief.
"It can't be that bad. Did she say anything to you about the eye change or anything?" Christian asked.
"No, she didn't." Christian hands clasp together in happiness.
"How's Luci?" I asked Christian trying to change the conversation.
"Yeah, how's Luc?" Aren chimes in. Our friend group consisted of Luci before she left. Aren was left with just us boys Christian and I. She tried to act all tough and stuff, but deep down she felt lonely.
"I talked to her yesterday and she's fine. She has about a couple more sessions and she'll be done and back here." He says with sorrow in his eyes. He has been away from her for over a year now.
Luci's studying to be a keeper. Keepers are people that hold all the information in Nygaard and other kingdoms and packs around the world. It's a very hard and demanding job. The day she told him that she was going to Nygaard to become a Keeper, Christian took it hard. At the time his father, the Beta, was already on him and to have her leave was difficult to cope with. She was his rock, the person to keep him sane.
As she was gone more and more, he learned to cope with it. They talk as much as they can, most of the time it's once a week. She spends most of her time in the library absorbing information. In a month or so I'll be In Nygaard. Then I'll be able to spend time with her and be there and stand in the place of Christian to make sure she's ok. He would do the same for me if Quinn was Luci.
The King and Queen of Nygaard host a ball every year for the future Alpha's in the Nygaardian region. We dance and get to know each other, it's very big and popular. I was thinking about taking Quinn, but it may be dangerous, or what if she doesn't accept me.
When most humans find out their boyfriend or girlfriend is a werewolf, they freak out. I hope that doesn't happen with her. Quinn seems like an acceptable and charismatic person.
As we keep talking Aora, Aren's little sister, comes skipping in the kitchen. Her curly pig tails bounce up and down as she walks over to Aren and sits down next to her.
"Hey squirt." Aren tells her as she gently pulls on her pig tails. Aora smacks her hand away from her hair. Keaorah, mostly known as Aora, is the youngest of the Parbat sisters. The oldest is Harper, who goes by Arpa, then Deshka, who goes by her middle name Aren and then Aora.
Arpa is seven years older than me, Aren and Christian. When we were in high school, she found her mate, who is the Royal Alpha of Nygaard. His name is Jerome Knox, but everyone calls him Beta Knox. She comes by every now and then to visit us, with their three kids.
"Aren't you supposed to be with Skipper. Where is she by the way?" Christian asks her as he looks around for her.
"She's outside meditating. She says it helps her focus on everything around her. Lame." Aora says as she looks on her phone.
Skipper is Christian's little sister. Everyone has a little sister but me. Her moon goddess name is Helena, but she goes by Skipper. Her and Christian have a very close relationship. After their mother died, they mostly had each other. I mean they have their father and such, but since he's the Beta he's always working.
"Maybe you should do something productive." Aren tells her.
"And what are you doing?" Aora asked her smartly. Aren rolls her eyes at Aora and shoos her off. Me and Christian quietly laugh at Aren.
"Oh, I forgot to say something. Did you father find anything on the Sasha Sapphire situation?" I asked her.
"They're has been sighting of her around the territory. The scouts saw her on the eastern part of our borders. The other's smelt her scent in the southern part." Aren tells us as she maps it out on the table.
"Did they find out what she's here for?" Christian asked.
"The weird thing is that she only is found on our territory. Alpha Nyxus of the Dark Moon Pack, being our neighboring pack, said they've gotten no scent of her being on their land. Neither have all the other packs here in Nygaard.
"Why do you think the princess is here?" Aora asked us. Aren gives her a sideways look and tells her to leave.
"If I leave, I'm telling dad that you were telling Christian and Alexander classified information." She said smirking at her big sister. Aren lifts off the stool and takes 10 bucks out of her pocket.
"Will this make you shut up?" Aren asked slickly, sliding the 10 bucks to her. She takes it and sticks it in her pocket.
"Fine." Aora zips her mouth up and throws away the key.
"Anyways, my dad thinks that she's here for one person." That's weird. There isn't anyone of interest here that they would want.
"Like who?" I ask.
"Your beloved mate." I looked at her with shock in my face.
"No way. It has to be something else." I tell her. Quinneth is normal, there isn't anything about her that would interest Sasha.
"It makes sense Alex. Think about it, Quinneth is human and is mated to an Alpha, which is you. There's a possibility she could be a Zastitnik." Christian says shrugging his shoulders.
"Zastitniks haven't existed in years. Not after The Reign of Rhella."
"Doesn't matter they can still exist. Also, when you come back here her scent is all over your clothes." Aren says adding on to Christian. I check the time on my watch, 6:30. I should be leaving right now to get to Quinn's on time. I've been waiting to see her all day.
"Look I don't want to hear no more. Quinneth is an ordinary girl it can't be possible. I got to go." I grab my wallet and phone from the counter and stick it in my back pockets.
"Where are you going?" They both asked in unison.
"Quinneth's." I tell them. Before they could say anything else, I leave out the kitchen. In the distance I hear them making kissing noises. So childish.
Before I walk out the doors, I hear someone behind me. "You're leaving so soon. Haven't seen you around lately." I turn around to see my mother, Coletta, leaned up against the wall with papers in her hands. Her dirty blonde curly hair lay quietly on her shoulders. Her glasses hang off her button nose.
"Sorry Alpha." I walk up to her and give her a hug. With hanging out with Quinn, interning at my father's company, training level 1's and taking up my Alpha studies, I've been booked.
"Call me mom. Alpha's too formal." She tells me while holding my face in her hands. "Where are you going at this time of night?" She asked.
"Over to Quinneth's house. "I tell her. She's been waiting a long time to meet her. With my father not approving of Quinneth, because she's human, my mother hasn't been able to meet her.
"Be safe ok. And most importantly have fun." She kisses me on the cheek and heads down the hall.
I take a deep breath and head to my car.
Location: Quinneth's House
Locking my car, I walk up the cobble stone walkway to her front door. Before I knock, I hear music and a bunch of ruckus upstairs. What is she doing?
Knocking on the door, I wait for her to answer.
The door finally opens up. Her curly tendrils are pinned up by bobby pins, her glasses hang from her nose. I didn't know she wore glasses. She's wearing a baby blue sweater with black leggings. The sweater hangs off her shoulder as her bra strap is exposed. All I do is stare at that bra strap on her brown skinned shoulder. God, she doesn't even try and she's turning me on.
"Hey." She says in a delicate voice.
"Hi." I reply back.
Quinneth's P.O.V.-
"I'm every woman it's all in me!" I sing at the top of my lungs as I dance around my room. My fluffy slippers slide across the room as I turn the music down a little. Wouldn't want the neighbors to complain.
Downstairs I hear the doorbell ring, must be Alexander. Running out of my room I accidently hit my foot on my dresser, damn it.
Even with the fluffy slippers on, it still hurts a bunch. I limp down the stairs to the door, opening it I see Alexander standing their looking at me strange.
"Hi." I say to him while trying to act normal.
"Hey." He said. I look him up and down observing what he was wearing. He's wearing a black cotton sweater with blue jeans and vans.
I see his eyes staring intently at my shoulder, looking over, I see my bra strap is showing. But, I don't move my sweater up, I let him gaze a bit. I won't admit this out loud, but I love his eyes on me.
"I heard something fall upstairs you ok?" He asked looking worried. Crap, I didn't think he heard that. Grandpa said I always had strong toes.
"Oh, I just stumbled into my dresser. It happens all the time." I say awkwardly.100Please respect copyright.PENANACZtcfxAZVs
Don't be a stranger, come on in." I say ushering him inside, also because it's cold outside and I don't want to freeze.
"I didn't know you wore glasses." He says analyzing my face. I was so in the moment when I was dancing in my room I forgot I had on glasses.
"Yeah, I do. I only wear them at night, I can't see well at night." I tell him slightly touching my glasses.
"What are you, old?" He lifts my glasses off of my face and looks at them. I try to reach other, but his reflexes are faster.
"HEY! I'm young and vibrant." I snatch my glasses back from him and tell him to follow me upstairs. He laughs at my response and trails behind me.
"What's all this?" Alexander asks.
I look over to my bed at the bags of candy, ribbons and goodie bags.
"Long story." I groan as I saunter over to the edge of my bed.
"I got time." He says walking around my room.
"Well, you might not know this, but I'm on the homecoming committee at my school." He stands in the middle of my room just listening to me. "You know you can sit on my bed. Make yourself comfortable." I want him to be feel at home here, even if it isn't his home. He sits on my bed and readjusts his legs. My bed is pretty small, since I'm only 5ft 5 or something like that. He's all around 6ft 2, his long legs try to find themselves a place to be comfortable.
"Anyways, one girl on the committee decided to quit last minute. Now, I have to fill up 500 tiny bags of candy by tomorrow." I point to all the little baggies that surround my bed.
"No one else could have done this?" He asked as he picked up a tiny bag and started filling it with candy. I give him a small smile and continue talking. He's so helpful, I was actually going to beg him to see if he could help out. Guess I don't have to do that anymore.
"Dana and the other girls drew names from a hat and my name was picked. You know I don't think she 'pulled' my name out of the hat I think she picked me on purpose." I said putting air quotes on the word pulled.
"So, sabotage."
"Yes... Indeed, this was sabotage." I may sound crazy right now, but I know when someone has it out for me.
"Why would she do that?" He asked finishing up the bag and putting it in the box. Dang he's quick. While we are talking he finished about 10 bags.
I walk over to my dresser and grab a new set of ribbons off of it and bring it to the bed with me. Cutting off a piece, I tell him the story. "Three years ago, my school did a live play of Snow white and the seven dwarfs. I got to play Snow White and whereas Dana played a dwarf. I heard before the play that she really wanted to play Snow White, but obviously she couldn't because I was playing her." I tell him as I sit on the bed next to him.
He gives me a weird look and just laughs. I smack his shoulder and tell him to stop laughing. "It isn't funny Alexander, I swear she still has a vendetta against me. This is her way of torturing me."
"Quinneth this happened over three years ago."
"Vendetta's last a long time." I say eyeing him.
I change the conversation by switching the subject. "How was your day?" I asked while giving my undivided attention to him.
"Tense." He responds. Maybe it's just me, but he looks tired. I sit down the bag that I was making on my bed and skootch close to him. I put my fingers on his face and began to rub circles.
"What are you doing?" He asked leaning into my touch. It's working now. He smells amazing, I can't put a finger on it, but the smell of him makes my mouth water. I hope I can keep my cool.
"When my grandfather is stressed out, I do this for him. It makes him feel better." I say lifting my fingers up to this temple. Pushing in deeper, I can feel the stress in his temples. "Your so stressed Alexander, I can literally feel it. Tell Quinneth why you're stressed." He rolls his eyes, but tells me anyways.
"My father's been getting a lot of new customers lately and I have to fill out a lot of paperwork. Also, other stuff too." I just nod and rub his head.
"If you need any help whatsoever just let me know. That's what friends are for. Feel better now?" I let go of his face to see him looking so relaxed.
"Your hand healed fast." I say pointing to his it. The once bruised and bloody mark on his hand is now replaced with smooth tan skin.
"Uh yeah." He says awkwardly.
"I have never seen something heal so fast." I reach out for his hand, but he reverts it back to himself. Weird.
"I've always healed quickly." He says ending the discussion.
Suddenly, I feel a shiver glide over my body. I get up from the bed and walk over to my balcony to shut the doors. Before I shut them, I see something in the distance, it's the wolf. It's fur flows in the wind as it's piercing green eyes stare at me. I haven't seen him since the failed date of Myer's and I. I swear to god this wolf is a sign or something, it comes around randomly.
"What are you looking at?" Alexander asked as I hear him walking behind me. His fingers brush the small of my back. I quickly shut the balcony doors so he doesn't see it.
"Wolves." I blurt out.
"What?" He steps closer to me looking out my balcony doors. I turn around to see the wolf had left.
"I meant wolves like werewolves. Did you hear about the guy that saw a human shift into a werewolf?" I asked quickly switching the conversation. He looks down at me with a quizzical look on my face.
"Where?"
"I think it was over on Crane St where the old abandoned soda factory is." He clenches onto my arms, not tightly and looks at me with a frightened face.
"What was seen?"
"Um... A video was taken by some guy. Tomorrow the Tribune is going to interview him." I say looking at him weirdly. He looks as if he saw a ghost.
"I have to go." He grabs into my face and kisses my cheek. Grabbing his jacket, he runs out of my room and out the door. I would have been shocked by the kiss, but him leaving in haste is what shocked me.
I stand by my window, confused by what just happened. He got so weird when I mentioned the wolf. Looking at my bed, I see that we actually finished the goodie bags, I toss them in the boxes and sit them over to the side.
