"You've got to stop coming through my balcony doors it's 'less-than-romantic' more 'murder-stalker' vibes." I tell him.
"I like your room... It's my favorite place." He smirks. I roll my eyes at him and observe his figure. His curly hair is now soaked with water, so are his clothes.
"Why didn't you wait until the rain let up?" I asked pointing to the hailing rain currently pounding on the house.
"I had to see you." I can see the desperation in his eyes, he really missed me after everything I said to him on homecoming night, and he still wanted to see me. He really must love me.
"Well... as long as you are here, I don't want you dripping water all over my floor." I walk over to my bathroom and grab a fluffy pink towel to dry him off. When I raise the towel to his head, he flinches.
"You ok?" Confusion decorates my face.
"Are you trying to smother me?" He asked, scared. I roll my eyes and smacks his arm.
"If I was going to kill you it would have been on homecoming night, now stand still." I put the towel on his head and start to dry his hair. Then I bring the towel to his body, his muscles ripple through the towel. While drying him off, I hear someone knock on my door.
"Hey Quinn, it's grandpa, can I come in?" He asked. My eyes bulge open, realizing I have a whole guy in my room if grandpa sees him, he'll freak.
"Uh- I- hold on a minute, I'm... naked!" I scream at him through the door.
Grabbing Alexander's arm, I drag him to the bathroom.
"The rain has just let up so I'm going to see Irene. While I was out do you need me to stop at the store and get you more ointment?" My face flushes with embarrassment, why couldn't he ask me that in the living room?
Alexander looks down at my flushed face, laughing at the current embarrassment that I'm feeling. "What's the ointment for?" He whispered looking down at me.
I use all my might to push him in the bathroom. "Wouldn't you like to know." Finally, getting him in the bathroom, I shut the door and run over to see a waiting grandpa on the other side of the door.
Leaning closer to him, I talk quietly so Alexander won't here. "Yes, I need the cream... get me the one that smells like strawberries the plain one smells of dead feet." He laughs at my comment and gives me a nod.
"Why are you whispering?" He asked also whispering to me. Couldn't tell him the real reason I was whispering so I just made something up.
"I have... a small headache." I hold my head in pain.
"Mhm, take some medicine and rest. Maybe all that reading is making your head hurt." He says pointing to the books on the bed.
"Could be." I laugh awkwardly. "See you later?" He kisses me on the forehead and proceeds to the front door. Looking down from the staircase, I wait until he's out the house, started his car to let Alexander out the bathroom.
Closing the door, I let out a sign and cower back against it. "That was so embarrassing." I whisper to myself.
"IT REALLY WAS!" Alexander screams from the bathroom. He really must want me to kill him huh, I'll do it.
Charging towards the bathroom, I fling open the door and drag him out. "Someone's feisty." He says flirtatiously. I point towards my chair and he sits down.
"So, you want to talk." He crosses his legs, interested in what I have to say.
"Yeah, I wanted to talk about what happened on homecoming night. I was a little overreactive about not wanting to see you again. That obviously was a fallacy because here we are sitting together talking." I say pointing to the both of us. "Having a conversation with Lyra in the woods had me th-." Suddenly, I was cut off by Alexander.
"Wait... what were you doing in the woods?"
I answer him quickly so I can continue on with the story.
"We were doing a project for our environmental class, anyways s-." He interrupts me again.
"What was the project about?" My face scrunches up in anger.
"If you interrupt me again I WILL smoother you." I point my finger at him as my lips purse up. He puts his hand over his mouth, showing me, he will be quiet.
"Like I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, I really care for you and I shouldn't have talked to you the way I did. So, what happened during those weeks when you were gone mean nothing and I should let it go. It's not like we are boyfriend and girlfriend or something, so you owe me nothing, there I said it. Have anything maybe you want to say?" I look at him with hopeful eyes hoping he would forgive me.
He lifts himself off the chair and walks over to me, he collects my hands in his. "I actually wanted to tell you where I was Quinneth, you deserve to know." I move away from his touch.
"No, I don't want to know, it's irreverent."
"Are you sure?" He asked not sure of my answer.
"Positive." He shrugs his shoulders and brings me into a bear hug. Wrapping my arms around his body, I engulf him; he's smells like aftershave and nature. Oh, how I missed the way he smelled. Letting go of me, I see him looking weirdly at my bed.
"Everything alright." I ask. He points towards the many books on my bed.
"What's up with the witch books?" Leaning over me, he grabs a book and flips through the pages.
"It's just some research I'm doing... for a school project." I say lying through my teeth.
"Ok."
"So, want to hang out?"
"You know I do." He walks over to my side of the bed and plops on it.
Alexander's P.O.V.-
A few minutes before going to Quinn's house...
"Hey, where are you going?" Aren asks me while shifting on the couch. Her black and purple hair lays spread out on the couch pillows.
"Quinn's house." I stick my phone and wallet in my back pocket. She rises up from her position and rests her chin on her hands.
"I thought she didn't want to see you anymore."
"Yes, she did say that, but yesterday she texted me saying she wanted to talk?"
"Mhm well what are you waiting for get over there." She ushers me towards the door. I wave goodbye to her as I head to my car on the way to Quinn's house.
Walking in the back yard of Quinn's house, I look to see if she's in her room, she's not. I know she hates when I go through her bedroom, but it's so fun to see the expressions on her face. The rain drenches me as I climb up her house and onto her balcony. Going through her doors, I see her room looking the same way I left it. Shaking off the rain, I instantly stop realizing I'm getting it all over her stuff she won't like that.
Honestly, when she texted me yesterday that she wanted to talk I was so ecstatic I spit out my food. It wasn't the best moment for me to do that, because I was having dinner with a nearby pack, they found the whole thing disgusting. Before her texting me I had been texting her like crazy for days, also sending her voicemails to no avail. I don't think she knows how much I've missed her.
Listening closely, I can hear voices and movement downstairs. "I'll let you get back to your book. I'll make us dinner tonight." I hear Quinneth say as her feet patter up the stairs, god she's coming up here. When she opens the door, she jumps in fright of seeing me, her books fall to the floor. I know I shouldn't like it, but I love when she jumps up from being scared, it's cute. Her curls bounce and cheeks flush.
"Quinneth are you alright up there?" Someone says from downstairs, I'm assuming that's her Grandfather who I have yet to meet. I put my finger over my lips telling her to be quiet, she rolls her eyes at me. I really don't want the cops called on me and be arrested.
"I'm fine grandpa... Thought I saw a bug." She yells to him. Her curls move around erratically as she's trying to figure out what to say.
"What are you doing here?" She asked sounding a little angry. She bends down and picks up her books and sits them on the bed.
Did she forget that she texted me to talk? If so, that would be really awkward.
"Came to see you, remember you texted me?" I pulled out my phone and showed her the text message. Confusion dances all over her face, oh god she did forget.
"Right, I forgot about that." She bites her lip in awkwardness.
She looks towards her balcony doors. "You've got to stop coming through my balcony doors it's 'less-than-romantic' more 'murder-stalker' vibes." She groans out.
"I like your room... It's my favorite place." I smirk. She rolls her eyes and smacks her lips. We stand in the middle of the room as her eyes look my body up and down. If I knew any better, I would say she was checking me out.
"Are you checking me out?" I asked my eyebrow lifted.
"You wish." I can feel guilt fan all over her body, she's so cute when she lies.
"Why didn't you wait until the rain let up?" She asked pointing to the rain outside. I couldn't wait another second to come and see her, it could've been thundering or a snow storm I still would have come.
"I had to see you." Is the only thing I can muster up to say.
"Well... as long as you are here, I don't want you dripping water all over my floor." She walks quickly over to her bathroom, what is she doing? She comes out with a fluffy towel in her hands over to me. When she lifts the towel up, I flinch, she looks at me like I'm crazy.
"You ok?" She asked with worry in her voice.
"Are you trying to smother me?" I have every right to ask that question because the last time I saw her she was filled with rage.
She smacks her lips at me, "If I was going to kill you it would have been on homecoming night, now stand still." I do what she says and stand completely still as she runs the towel over my wet hair. To feel her hands, rub against my scalp is so soothing I could stay in this moment forever. Even through the towel I can feel the warmth of her hands. Tiny sparks shoot through my body, I wonder if she could feel it.
The towel goes from my head to my body. Her tiny hands grip on my arms drying the water that trickles down my ripped muscles. Her hand tenses against me as I involuntary flex my muscles. While she's drying me off, we hear a knock at the door.
"Hey Quinn, it's grandpa can I come in?" He asked. I see her eyes widen in fear, that look lets me know I'm not supposed to be in her room. I really didn't want to get her in trouble, god I didn't even think of the possibility of her grandpa coming up here. I should've just gone to the front door or at least ask to meet her somewhere like a normal guy.
"Uh- I- hold on a minute I'm... naked!" She stutters, is that the best thing she could come up with? Her hand grabs my arm and drags me to her bathroom.
"The rain has just let up so I'm going to see Irene. While I was out do you need me to stop at the store and get you more ointment?" We stop mid-walk; I turn to her and see her face flush red in embarrassment. This is such a golden moment.
"What's the ointment for?" I lean down and whisper in her ear, she twitches against my lips.
She proceeds to push me in her bathroom, "Wouldn't you like to know." She gets me in the bathroom and slams the door on me. Well, what am I supposed to do now?
Looking around I take in her bathroom; the walls are white with pictures of flowers and meadows all over them. Looking towards the other side of her bathroom, I see a pink shower curtain with the words, 'live your life' on it. I back up and run into her shower rod, her bra and underwear hang on it. The bra and underwear are both polka-dotted, so cute.
I hear outside the door her talking to her grandpa. "Yes, I need the cream... get me the one that smells like strawberry the plain one smells like dead feet." She whispers to him. I let out a giggle, the benefit of her not knowing I'm a werewolf is that I have strong hearing. She's most likely whispering because she doesn't want me to know, I wonder what she uses the ointment for?
"Why are you whispering?" Her Grandpa asks whispering back. Listening to her grandfather talk theirs something interesting about his voice, he sounds like Count. Most likely just hearing things all old people sound the same anyways.
"I have... a small headache." She responds to him. They keep on talking, then I hear the door slam shut.
"That was so embarrassing." She whispers to herself.
I couldn't help myself but respond, "IT REALLY WAS!" I scream through the door. Suddenly, I hear feet walk quickly to the door. It flings open and she drags me back into her room, for a small human she's rather strong.
"Someone's feisty." I say biting my lip, she's very sexy when she's angry makes me want to pull her close and plant one on her. She ignores my comment and points towards the chair, I do what she says and sits down.
"So, you want to talk." Her body shifts.
"Yeah, I wanted to talk about what happened on homecoming night. I was a little overreactive about not wanting to see you again. That obviously was a fallacy because here we are sitting together talking." She says pointing to the both of us. "Having a conversation with Lyra in the woods had me th-." I instantly cut her off.
"Wait... what were you doing in the woods?" I don't like the thought of her being in the woods without me. The reason is because Sasha is on the loose and she may try to do something harmful to her, I can't have her getting hurt.
She responds back to me in a haste, "We were doing a project for our environmental class anyways s-." I interrupt her again; this was just for fun.
"What was the project about?" Her face scrunches up in anger. Oh, how I love when she gets angry, her nose scrunches up, it's so cute. I've got to stop with the cute crap.
"If you interrupt me again I WILL smoother you." I put my hand over my mouth, silencing myself.
"Like I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, I really care for you and I shouldn't have talked to you the way I did. So, what happened during those weeks when you were gone mean nothing and I should let it go. It's not like we are boyfriend and girlfriend or something so you owe me nothing, there I said it. Do you have anything you want to say." Her brown eyes linger on me.
I don't hold her over for talking to me the way she did that night. She had every right to be mad, even if I couldn't control not being around her it was my father's fault. The whole reason I really came over here was to tell her the truth, that I'm a werewolf. I know that everyone at home would be enraged for me to tell her, but sooner or later she would suspect it. I can't be around her knowing that I'm not telling her who I really am, WHAT I really am.
I stand up and hold her hands in mine, they shake. "I actually wanted to tell you where I was Quinneth, you deserve to know." I say looking intently at her. Before I'm able to tell my deepest darkest secret, she holds her hand up.
"No, I don't want to know it's irreverent." Oh, I think she would really want to know this.
"Are you sure?" I asked unsure. Her expression tells me she really does want to know where I was, but doesn't wants to know so she can move on.
"Positive." Then it's settled, I won't tell her now, but eventually I will. I pull her close to me for a hug. She relaxes in my arms as she lets out a sigh of comfort. Her hair smells of honey and flowers. While hugging her, I have a clear view of her bed, it's filled with books on witches. She let's go of me and gives me a weird look.
"Everything alright?" She asked curiously.
"What's up with the witch books?" I lean over her and pick up one while flipping through it. All the books are on witches, something called the Salam Witch Trial. Kind of creepy, is my mate a fan of witches? I've met some here in Nygaard and their pretty rude.
"It's just some research I'm doing... for a school project." Due to us being mates, I can feel her every emotion through the bond, right now, she's lying. I don't know why she would lie about a bunch of books, most likely nothing.
"Ok." Is all I say.
"Sooo, you maybe want to stay and hang out?" I don't know why she would ask me that question of course I want to.
"You know I do." I walk over to her bed and plop down.
"HEY!" She screams at me. "Get off the bed, your clothes are still wet." I roll off.
"Come here." I walk up to her.
"What?"
"Take your clothes off." She tugs on my shirt.
"If you want to make out again, we sure can do that." I pull her close to me and kiss her on the neck. She clenches up as my lips glide down the nape of her neck. I missed trailing kisses down her body, I can't get it out of my head the last time we did this.
"No Alexander." She hesitantly pushes me away from her. "I was going to dry your clothes." Oh, this is awkward. I take off my shirt and pants as she heads down the hall, most likely to put them in the drier. I stand in the middle of my room with just boxers on, thank god I'm warm-blooded or I'd be freezing right now. My hair is still a little wet.
She comes back into the room with a shirt and basketball shorts, whose clothes are these? They look... vintage. "These were my dad's clothes he's not around anymore so he won't be missing them. Put them on while your clothes dry."
I do as she says and puts the clothes on. Once their on, she flashes me one of her intoxicating smiles. "Whatcha smiling for?" I ask pinching her cheeks, she swats my hand away.
"The clothes... they fit you perfectly. Those were my father's clothes." I look down at them, they really are kind of snug, but they fit. She never told me what happened to them, I've been reluctant to ask because it may make her angry or cry.
"Quinn, whatever happened to them?" I asked quietly, but she could hear me.
Her face goes pale as she looks at her shoes. Oh no, I hope she doesn't react bad. "They uh... they died from an explosion. My father worked at a quarry, him and my mom were too close to the site and it blew up." Wow, I assumed it was a car accident or something.
"I'm... so sorry Quinn." She gives me a side smile.
"It's ok happened a millennia ago, let's chill?" She asked trying to change the subject.
"Yeah, alright."
