It takes a few minutes for my grandfather to say something, usually when he's quiet he's trying to contemplate what's he's going to say, so he doesn't hurt anyone's feelings.
"Your...boyfriend?" I give him a shy smile. "Why is your boyfriend in the house, further more why is there a boy here anyways? You know my rules, Quinn."
"If you let me ex-." He holds his hand up for me to stop talking.
"Go to your room Quinn." His eyes never leave Alexander, he's staring at him like Alexander is going to run away.
"Bu-."
"GO to your room Quinn, NOW!" He never yells at me, but when he yells, I know not to fight it.
"Yes, sir." I quickly run to the stairs up to my room. Hopefully he doesn't chew Alexander out too much, he'll be alright. Right? I would linger on the stairs, but he'll know.
Alexander's P.O.V.-
We wait a few minutes until Quinneth is upstairs and we hear her door shut. Swiftly he turns around, both eyes dart to my face.
"Alexander what are you doing here? With my Granddaughter?" He spats out.
"The better question is what are you doing here Count?" I can't believe Count is the grandfather to my mate.
"I live here so my excuse will be better than yours, sit down now." I find myself planted on the couch. As I wait, my eyes revert over to the tear in the couch. If he knew what happened, he'd freak. It's better to take that to the grave with me. Count takes the seat next to me.
"Now tell me why you're here with Quinn...alone." I let out a deep sigh.
"I was here...to hang out with her." I couldn't tell him that I came over here to tell Quinn that I'm a werewolf, I have a feeling if I did, he'll kill me.
"She is your...mate?" It's almost like he's squeezing the words out of his mouth.
"Yes, but I would never do anything to hurt her or put her in danger Count I swear." He tells me to be quiet.
"Not so loud Quinn's got hearing like a... well a werewolf." He chuckles. "Don't call me Count she doesn't know this side of me, call me Milo." We call him Count because of all the countess talents he has. He's one of the pack doctors, and also a herbiest. Once he retired my father offered him a job with us, he wasn't so sure but later he complied.
"You know I'll do right by her."
"I know you will I practically raised you, Alexander. It's just I didn't want her to know his side of me, what I do to keep her safe. Me and Margrethe did our best to protect Quinn and shield her." We all knew he had a granddaughter, but to protect her he didn't conceal her identity to us.
"I understand."
"Tell me, does she know what you are?" In his eyes I can tell he's afraid of what I'll say. To save face I tell him what he wants to hear.
"She doesn't know, I'm not ready for her to know."
"Me either, thank you. How long have you been dating Quinn?"
"For like three weeks."
"How come you never came to meet me like a proper gentleman?" He readjusts his position on the couch. Suddenly my mouth has a bitter taste in it.
"Every time I came over you were never here. Usually, I would just go through her balcony doors." In that moment I realized that I said too much so I clasp my hands over my mouth.
"You were up in her room....without my knowledge." That vein in his neck starts to poke out, if I didn't know any better it may pop out and burst.
"Please don't be mad at her." I say trying to reason with him. "It was all me."
"Oh, I'm mad at you, but way angrier at Quinn because she knows better. QUINNETH GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE!" He screams so loud I had to put my hands over my ears.
"Ok!" Her small feet come running quickly down the stairs.
"NO QUINN STAY UPSTAIRS!" I can hear her feet patter back up the stairs.
"Ok?" She says unsure of herself.
"Don't tell her what to do. QUINN GET DOWN HERE!" In an instant she's standing by the staircase, me and Milo walk over to her. I can literally smell the nervousness seep out of her pores.
Poor baby.
Quinneth's P.O.V.-
Running down the stairs I see Alexander and Grandpa standing by the door. I really wish I could hear what they said, usually I would listen in but I was too afraid to pay attention. Alexander sees how nervous I am and engulfs his hand in mine. I rub his arm and give him a sweet smile, he really does know how to calm me down even if it's a small gesture such as this one.
"You called?" My grandfather gives me a nod.
"Look... I have no problem with you having a boyfriend you know that. The fact that he was in this house with you alone, not under my supervision it makes me angry." I give him a nod, showing him that I understand.
"I'm so sorry Grandpa you know I don't like to make you angry."
"I know honey, it's ok that he's over just let me know. Also, for now on make sure your balcony doors and windows are locked we wouldn't want anyone sneaking in now would we?" He glares at Alexander then me. My cheeks start to flush as my eyes revert to Alexander. He laughs at my embarrassment.
"Shut up!" I scream whisper to him.
"I think it's time for Alexander to go now." Grandpa opens the door; we are greeted by pouring rain and thunder claps. I swear the weather just go worse within the hour.
"Maybe Alexander can stay the night... on the couch I mean. It's too dangerous for him to be driving in this."
"With his abilities I think he'll be fine." I give my grandpa a weird look.
"What abilities?" If I didn't know better, I would think he knew what Alexander was but I'm not 100% sure.
"I meant that he's a grown man and strong looking he can handle it." He babbles.
"Grandpa please let him stay I just don't think he'll be safe." Besides him being a werewolf he could still get hurt.
"Ugh fine, but he sleeps on the couch and you are not to be down here alone with him. Got it?" He points his finger at the both of us.
"Yes." Me and Alexander both say in unison.
"Yay it's going to be a sleepover." I say excitedly while yanking on Alexander's arm.
"NO SLEEPOVER!" My grandpa screams as he walks into the kitchen.
"Fine, I'll go make dinner." I leave Alexander and Grandpa by the door while I go find something in the kitchen to make.
After Dinner...
"This is all I could find that was clean. Sorry, we never have guests, the last one we had was my cousin, Dana-Whitley and she was a hoot." I say putting the pillow, sheet and cover on the couch.
"Hoot? Where we're you born, Texas?" He jokes.
I smack his arm, "Don't make fun of me!"
I have to, who will? And its fine Quinn, I would be comfortable sleeping on the ground outside." He starts to put the sheet on the couch.
"Because you're a wolf, right?"
"Right."
"Did you like the dinner." I asked him curiously.
"I did...it tasted amazing. I never had spaghetti tacos before."
"Me either. I saw it on icarly and have been dying to make it." I start to back up. "Well, I'll leave you to it." I start to walk towards the stairs, before I make it out the living room, he pulls me back to him.
"Where are you going?" His eyes darken, oh god.
"To my room, now let go of me. If my grandpa sees you down here with me that vein in his neck will pop." I say pushing him away from me, but since he's so strong it doesn't work.
"Before you leave, I want a kiss." He leans down to me, his lips grazing mine.
"Fine, just one." I give him a quick peck, of course that wasn't good enough for him.
"What was that? I want a real kiss, with tongue." His hand grips my face while his lip aggressively kisses mines. Our lips move in sync as my hand comes to his hair. It starts to get heated once his hand slips up my shirt.
"Alright I really have to go." I tell him while readjusting my shirt.
"Goodnight baby." I give him a sweet smile.
"Goodnight cutie." I pinch his cheeks while walking up the stairs. God, I'm blushing like a tomato.
Before I walk into my room, my grandpa stops me. "Hey Quinn dinner was good tonight." He says to me rubbing lotion on his hands.
"Thank you, glad you loved it." He tells me goodnight and walks into this room.
"Wait, grandpa." He turns around to me.
"Yes honey?"
"Did you like Alexander?" It's important to me that he likes who I date, I want him to be comfortable.
"I think he's good enough for you. If you like him, then I do." I tell him goodnight and head into my room. Changing into my pajama's I stare up at the ceiling trying to go to sleep.
2 hours later...
Turning over I see that it's 2 in the morning, letting out a sigh I go back to laying on my stomach.
The conversation with my grandpa and Alexander lays heavy on my mind, what did they talk about?
He said that he liked him, but what did Alexander say to make him like him. I mean my grandfather did find him in a closet that's not always the best impression to make on your girlfriends grandfather.
I'm not going to be able to go to sleep without knowing what they talked about. Throwing the covers off my body I head into the hallway. Before I go down the stairs, I look into my grandpa's room to make sure he's asleep, he's all cuddled up under the covers sleeping soundly.
Tip-toeing down the stairs they creek under my feet. Note to self-make sure to fix the stairs. Looking over the couch, Alexander is sound asleep, his hair is all over the pillow as his feet hang out of the covers. He looks so adorable when he's sleep.
I shake his shoulder to wake him up, but nothing happens. I know what will wake him up, I run my fingers through his soft curls. His eyes start to blink open.
"Quinneth, what's going on? It's two in the morning." His voice is all groggily. "I don't want to do anything nasty, wait until later." I groan.
"That's not why I came down here, get your head out of the gutter. Also, nothing is going on I just need to ask you something."
"Can't this wait until the morning?" He starts to rub his eyes as he pulls the covers onto him.
I quickly pull them off, "No, this is urgent."
"Since this is so important ask the question." He gives me his undivided attention.
"What did you and my grandpa talk about?" He lets out a groan.
"This was the urgent question you woke me up for?" He snaps.
"Don't snap at me!"
"You do it all the time to me, baby."
"Uh yeah, because I'm allowed."
"Says who?" He asks, eyes wide open now.
"The national girlfriend association!" I find my voice rising.
"Your crazy, you know that."
"I do, but forget about that. Tell me what was said." I start to shake him.
"Ugh, fine since you won't leave me alone. I told him how long we've been dating and that I would never hurt you or cause you any harm."
"That's it?"
"That's its Quinn, the conversation wasn't that interesting."
"Did you tell him...you know what you are." I fiddle with my fingers.
"God no, were in the clear."
"Good, I don't want him to know. He's innocent in all of this."
"Now I can go to bed." I pull him by his head and give him a sweet kiss, since he's still waking up, he holds on, slowly getting into the rhythm.
"God, you taste so good." He says seductively.
"I know." We resume kissing. While kissing him I hear my grandfather come stomping down the stairs
"QUINNETH GET UPSTAIRS NOW!"
"Crap." Alexander says against my lips. "We've been caught."
"See you later." I give Alexander one more kiss and head upstairs. My grandpa smacks me with his robe. Before walking completely up them, I give him a smile and he returns it with a wink.
My grandpa catches wind of this, "Hey stop the winking and teeth showing, go to your room." I let out a groan and head to my bed, god he can be a Debbie downer.
Alexander's P.O.V-
Folding up the covers and sheet, I sit it on the couch neatly. It's around 6 in the morning, I highly doubt that Quinneth is up. Honestly, I would have slept in, but I need to get home so I can change and get to work.
As I head for the door, I hear footsteps coming down the stairs.
"Good morning Alexander." Milo says to me while wrapping his robe around his body.
"Good morning to you too Count." I give him a nod. "Oh, sorry I didn't mean to call you that, what I meant is Milo."
He shrugs off my babbling, "It's alright you can call me Count. When Quinneth sleeps she's dead to the world, trust me. There could be a fire and she would never know."
"Sounds like Quinn."
"Does your father know about Quinn and you?" He asked serious now.
"He knows, he kind of approves of it, but has a steady hate for it."
"Because she's human. I would object against this thing with you and my granddaughter, but that would only drive her towards you more. You can stay if you want, we can drink coffee." I would say no, but I can be a little late to work I mean my father is the CEO.
"Sure."
"Follow me." We both head towards the kitchen for a hot, steaming cup of joe.
"Won't your father be mad that you're coming into work late?" Count asked as he drinks his coffee.
"Most likely, but what can you do right?" We clank our cups together, the hot coffee trickles down my throat.
"I'm going into work at the pack house today, can you drive Quinn to school? I had to take a cab yesterday and it was annoying."
"Sure, when does school start?"
"8:00. She should be getting up any moment." After he says that, Quinneth comes trudging down the stairs, her shorts are turned backwards, hair is matted against her face. Drool is stuck to her cheek.
"Did you make me some coffee?" She asked her grandfather while wiping the dried slob from her face.
"It's in the kitchen." He answers.
"Ok, hey Alexander." She starts to walk away and stops dead in her tracks, slowly she turns to us. "Alexander what are you doing here?"
"Just drinking coffee with your Grandpa." Her eyes dart to her grandfather.
"You could have warned me that he was down here, that's why I taught you to text!" She turns to look in the mirror, horror creeps up on her face. "God, I look like the Lochness monster." She runs back upstairs, her feet stomp against them. For small feet she's pretty loud.
"You look beautiful. I scream to her as she walks up the stairs.
"Don't lie to me." I hear her door slam shut.
Me and Count look towards each other. "Girls." We both say in unison.
