-This chapter was written on January 28th, but was released later than that. When I wrote this it was actually a wolf moon so I wanted to write about it.
I took a picture of the wolf moon, but it wasn't good so I went to Twitter and found a good one.

While Quinneth is at Homecoming...
Alexander's P.O.V.-
I look over the balcony at the people down below. Everyone is setting up chairs, tables and placing food on them. Tonight's a full moon, let me be specific tonight's a wolf moon. We don't celebrate all the full moons just the wolf moon.
Usually, I would be up for this type of event. Being able to eat good food and hang with friends, but I've been stuck in the house for almost a week. Not being able to shift or run in the woods because of the wolf that was on the loose and exposed themselves to humans. It wasn't even our wolf so it doesn't concern us.
I've mostly been keeping busy by doing intern work, getting ahead on my Alpha studies and teaching my Level 1 class. Even with all that, I'm still thinking about Quinneth all the freaking time. It's been almost two weeks since I've seen her. I can't go see her from afar because my father gave orders to let no one off the pack grounds, not even him.
I miss the smell of her body, those curly tendrils and insanely short skirts. Most importantly, I miss talking to her.
"Hey! Be careful with that, took me hours to make it." I hear Aren's mother scream to some young boys who are caring a very large cake. If she wasn't the Gamma, she would make a great baker for the pack. Every year she makes the best deserts whether it be a cake, cookies or brownies.
"Yes ma'am." The boys say in unison.
"Dreaming about Anfran's cake?" I hear someone say behind me. Turning around, I'm greeted by my mother. Her dirty blonde hair is tied up in a bun as her reading glasses rest quietly on her head.
"Yeah, it's been keeping me up at night." I say sarcastically. She walks over to me, clutching onto my arm, leaning her head on it.
"I don't think that's it. What's wrong?" She asks.
"Just one of those things." I say replying to her.
"This is about Quinneth Isn't it? You've been working yourself to death, a little bit more than you already do. Now, I know the real reason." She lets go of my arm and gently turns me to her. "Your father is doing what is not only best for you, but for the pack. When you become Alpha and have children, there will be things that you do your child won't necessarily agree with you on." She says rubbing my arms.
"I know it's just... did it have to be now." I say letting out a chuckle.
"Yeah, honey it did. She'll forgive you."
"How? The only way she'll forgive me is if I tell her the real reason I left."
"Which you know you can't do... right." She says in a serious tone trying to focus her eyes on me so I know that I get the picture. I nod.
"Alpha, it's time." One of the pack members say.
"Alright, come on now. Don't want to keep the pack waiting." We walk off the balcony, down the stairs to the backyard of the pack house.
Quinneth's P.O.V.-
Walking into homecoming, it feels and looks like I'm in a different Universe. Tables line the sides of the gym with all types of goodies. In the back theirs a photo booth, which has a long line of kids waiting to take pictures. The theme was a night in Paris. Tiny Eiffel Towers sit in the middle of the table with candles in the middle. Soft French music plays in the background as couples sway on the dance floor.
On the ceiling there are long strings of lights twinkling. The decoration committee did really well this year.
I look around the gym trying to find our table. Looking towards the back, I see Lyra and the others sitting their stuff down. I nudge Lyle's arm to get his attention, he's too busy looking around at all the decorations like I was.
"Let's go sit our stuff at the table and we can go to the dance floor." I yell in his ear. The music is really loud in here, how do we not go deaf from this?
"Ok!" He yells back. We worm our way through the crowds of people until we reach our table. Mary and Andre are in the line at the photo booth, while Khadijah, Darren, Lyra and Jack all went to the buffet. So, the only ones that remain are me, Lyle and Kate. Beside me, Kate is sitting down playing best fiends on her phone. Suddenly, I feel a tugging at my arm. Looking to the person tugging, it's Lyle. "Come on I want to dance, plus I really like this song." I see eagerness in his eyes. Carlos suddenly came down with a bug so he couldn't take her. He couldn't pick another time to get sick? Maybe Memorial Day?
"Ok, hold on a minute." I pat his arm as I turn to Kate.
"Hey Kate, me and Lyle are going to go dance want to come?" I ask her. She shrugs her shoulders at me indicating a no.
"Are you sure?"
She sighs, "Quinn, Lyle's your date I don't think he would be keen on me lurking around." Honestly I don't think Lyle would actually care he's such a chill guy.
"Alright, you can always change your mind." We leave Kate alone at the table while me and Lyle go to the dance floor. This is the first year they actually got a real dance floor, color squares glow beneath our feet.
As soon as we get on the dance floor the song changes. "Time of Our Lives", by Pitbull comes on.
"Yes, Quinn this is my song!" Lyle yells, dancing around on the floor. Never would I have picked Lyle Bangyork to be a dancer. "Come on move your hips." He puts his hands on my waist moving me from side to side.
Suddenly, a bunch of energy surged through my body. I think it's the music, and the energy around me. I start to move my arms around, my legs and hips followed afterwards.
"Look at you, you're a natural." He says leaning into me.
"I'm secretly a dancer!" I scream back. He laughs at me as we continue dancing.
Couple minutes later...
"I WANT THE TIME OF MY LIFE... YEAH!"
"OH BABY OHHHH GIVE ME THE TIME OF MY LIFE.. HEY... HEY... HEY LET'S GET IT NOW!"
The music stops and everyone claps, including me and Lyle. I let my arms down, they ache under me. I have no idea how people can party all the time, it's so much fun but exhausting.
"Ok guys I'm going to take a break then I'll be back cranking up the tunes." The Dj says in the microphone. He walks off the stage towards the back.
Laughter fills the air around us as we walk off the dance floor. I fan my arms trying to shake the sweat off of me. Thank god I wore clinical strength or I would be smelling like dirty gym socks.
"Quinneth Worthingshire you amaze me." Lyle says pulling me close.
"No, you amaze me. Why didn't you tell me you could dance, that split you did was phenomenal?" I speak. He started a dance circle and did the split, I was surprised. For a second I thought we were in stomp the yard.
"Well, I have talent besides being able to file papers." I roll my eyes at him.
"Hey I'm going to go get something to drink want one?" I ask.
"Yeah, I'll be at the table." We part ways. Walking over to the buffet table, I grab two red cups and scoop up some fruit punch. Turning around I see Lyle sitting at the table conversating with Kate. This is the first smile I've seen on her face since we got here. I tilt my head to the side admiring them. I don't know what they were laughing at, but whatever it was she was happy. And that's all that mattered.
I walk over to the table, once I get near, they look up at me taking in my presence. I hand Myer's his drink. "Thanks." He speaks.
"You're welcome." I sip mines, while I'm doing that Lyle and Kate continued talking. I think there is something going on here... beyond friendship.
The DJ comes back to his booth. "In 1 minute, I will be breaking out the best tracks of 2020, better hurry up." Everyone grabs their date running to the dance floor. "We also have a contest going on tonight, the best dancers of the night will win 500 dollars!" Even more couples get up rushing to find a spot on the floor. Some of them weren't even dancing before, it is true people will do anything for money.
Lyle turns around to me his eyes are bulged open, I forgot he likes money. "Come on Quinn we have to go." He tugs at my arm. I look over to Kate, she's back on her phone again. Maybe if I have some kind of accident she can go in my place. I did something that I will most likely soon regret.
I 'accidently' tip my red fruit punch all over my dress. "Oh, wow look what happened. I can't go out on the dance floor, take Kate instead." I say surprised. Kate looks up at me then Lyle.
"Uh no we can get you cleaned up in time." She grabs some napkins and starts dapping the juice off my dress.
"30 more seconds!" The Dj yells out.
"No, there isn't enough time go with Lyle I insist." I look at her with a pleading look on my face.
"Fine, I'll bring him back as soon as we are done." She pulls Lyle by his hand to the dance floor. I sit at the table dabbing napkins on my dress while watching them dance. There is no way this juice is getting out of my dress. I throw the napkins on the table in defeat while watching Lyle and Kate. They dance around all erratically, wow they look so cute.
"Jesus!" I hear a shriek. "What happened to your dress? You look a mess." Lyra says cringing at my stain pink dress. 50 bucks down the drain, but it was worth it to see a smile on Kate's face.
"An accident." I tell her.
"Your so clumsy." She said ruffling my hair.
"Where's Jack?"
"The bathroom, waiting in that long line he had to pee really bad. Is that punch?" I give her a nod. She picks it up and drinks the rest of the juice that wasn't staining on my dress.
"Help yourself."
"Ok guys quiet down!" Dana says yelling into the microphone. The microphone let's out a shrieking noise. Everyone cringes while holding their ears. "Sorry, you guys should have gotten quiet sooner. Now, something you've all been waiting for Homecoming King and Queen!" Everyone starts to cheer. I readjust myself in the chair leaning forward eager to hear the results.
"You're homecoming Queen is... Sara Wong!" We all look to the side to see Sara letting out a shrill as she runs up to Dana to get her crown. I've never seen someone so happy to be homecoming queen. She's wearing a long green dress with white flower designs and kitten heels, her hair is curled down her bare back. How risqué. Tara hesitantly claps her hands together, probably mad that she didn't win. Usually Tara always wins over Sara, guess not tonight.
"Now the homecoming King is... Jack Thompson!" I clasp my hands over my mouth in excitement. To the side of me m, Lyra runs up to the dance floor screaming rather loudly for Jack. He gives her the eye telling her to calm down. "Everyone needs to clear the floor so the homecoming king and queen can have their first dance." Immediately everyone clatters off the floor as Sara and Jack make their way in the middle. The Dj plays a soft melody as they sway to the music.
As I'm entranced by Jack and Sara I hear someone say my name.
"Hey Quinn." I turn around to see Mary plop down in the seat behind me. "What's happening?"
"Just chilling." I reply. "Where's Darren?" I asked looking around for him. The whole night they've practically been inseparable.
"I needed a break. Plus, I lost him in the crowd 10 minutes ago." She says nonchalantly, taking a bite of her cookie.
"Well... Aren't you going to go look for him?" I asked her.
"Nah he'll be fine." She shrugged off.
"Ok."
Turning my attention back to the stage, I see that the dance has ended. Dang that was quick. "Alright Bat's this is the last dance of the night then we'll be wrapping up. So, grab your date, friend, teacher or even your principal and come on down to the floor." Immediately the floor fills with people.
Mary comes up beside me with her hand out for me to grab. "Wanna dance?" She asks deeply while smirking her eyebrows. Now I like Mary, but not enough to dance with her.
"I'm good thanks." I reassure her.
"Why? Is there something wrong with me?" She says defensibly.
"No, there isn't nothing wrong with you it would just be weird to dance with you." I say trying to calm her down.
"Quinneth you're not... homophobic, are you?" She questioned me.
"WHAT?! No, I ju-." I stop myself from talking mid-sentence. If I say no, she may do something unpredictable. It's not that I don't want to dance with her, that's 50% of the reason is other half is that my feet hurt and I have a big red stain on my dress.
I let out a long sign. "Fine." I take her hand as she guides me to the dance floor.
One of her hands lay on the small my back while the other one holds mine. They just had to play a slow song. We sway to the music ever so slowly. As we take one turn around, I see Lyra looking at me weirdly as she dances with Jack.
"Why are you dancing with Mary?" She silently mouthed to me.
"She made me, I thought she would do something irrational." I mouthed back. She lets out a small giggle as she readjusts Jack's crown on her head. Why is she wearing his crown? I'm sure she guilt tripped him into giving her it.
On the side, a blinding light suddenly hits me and Mary. "Oh, wow Batcaver's has an openly gay couple. Let's give them a round of applause for being so brave." All the couples turn around and give us a round of a applause. As their clapping, I'm trying to stop the light from burning my corneas.
"No were not a cou-." Mary covers my mouth with her hands. I look at her like she's deranged.
"Thank you all so much for accepting our love." I shake my head while rolling my eyes.
"If you keep rolling your eyes their going to stay like that." She said lecturing me.
Mary-Anne Digby is now officially my enemy.
After a few more minutes of dancing with Mary, the music starts to die down and now homecoming is officially over.
"I got a text, the limo is outside we got to go." Mary tells me.
"Ok I'll go get Lyra, Jack, Kate, Andre and Lyle while you get Khadijah and Darren." She gives me a nod while heading off.
"Hey, you guys we have to go the limo is outside." We go to the table, grabbed our stuff and headed outside.
"Where's Darren and Khadijah?" Lyra asked.
"Mary went to get them." I tell her.
"They better hurry up it's cold out here?" She says trying to stay warm. It is rather cold out here, most of the time it's hot during the day and cold at night.
While waiting for them to come up, Lyra comes over to talk with me. "Looks like your date got jacked." She whispers to me.
"No, Kate was having a good time with Lyle and him with her. I didn't want to break it up." I explain. They did have fun together, danced and smiled all night.
"I really thought he liked you, guess I was wrong." I made a 'o' shape with my mouth. Lyra admitting, she was wrong was... Big of her.
"Wait, say that again?" I bring my ear closer to her.
"You better go back 5 seconds and remember when I said it the first time because you'll never hear me say it again."
"Hey Jack your girlfriend was wrong about something." He laughs loudly.
"You don't say." He looks at Lyra with a smirk on his face. She shoots him the evil eye.
"We're here." Mary comes out the doors with Darren and Khadijah.
"Where's the Limo?" Darren asked looking around for it.
Suddenly, the limo pulls up. "Let's go."
Quinneth's House:
I grab my purse as I step out the limo. Lyle steps out the car with me.
"Are you sure you don't want to go with us?" Lyle asked me again. Tara and Sara, the blondes, are having an After party at their lake house tonight. Lyle's been making sure that I didn't want to go. If I go, he'll have to be with me because he's my date and he won't be with Kate. I don't want to cramp his or her style so I just decided to come home and watch TV.
"Yes, I'm sure Lyle. Go on and have fun with Kate." I say ushering him to the car.
"Hurry up the conversation this limo is paid for by the hour." Khadijah screams at us.
"You better hurry up before Khadijah cuts both our throats."
"I had fun with you, well the time we spent together." He says with a fruity smile.
"You too." I flash a smile while bringing him into a hug.
"Bye." He walks back to the limo.
"Bye Quinn."
"See you later."
"Call me."
"Bye you guys." I stand in the driveway and wave to them as they drive down the street. Looking up at the sky, I see that it's a full moon. The last time I saw a full moon was when I was driving home from Tina's, when Myers stood me up.
It's crazy how the moon is 238,900 million miles from the earth. So distant yet it feels like you could reach out and touch it. Let me head into the house before a neighbor thinks I'm some creep.
Pulling my keys out of my purse, I unlock the door. Walking in, I'm greeted by darkness and silence.
"GRANDPA!" I scream. Standing still for a few more seconds I don't hear a reply. He must be at Irene's house or out with some friends. Where ever he is he'll text and let me know when he's coming home. Sometimes I forget who the teenager is. me or my grandpa.
In an instant I hear something crash in my bedroom. Oh no don't tell me someone is breaking into the house. They pick the perfect time because I'm alone. Also, I'm a scary cat.
I slowly step towards the door grabbing the wooden baseball bat. Standing on my tip toes, I walk up the stairs. The stairs creak under my heels. Dang, why does this house have to be so old? Arriving to my bedroom door, I slowly pushed it open, with all the energy that was left over from homecoming I charge in the room.
"Ahhhhh!" I let out my battle cry, suddenly I stop in my tracks. The baseball bat drops from my hands on to the floor. The only thing I could hear was the baseball bat connecting with the ground.
Somebody I thought that I'd never see again stands in front of me.
"Alexander?" I croak out.
He leans up against my balcony doors, his black eyes compliment the midnight moon. My chest starts to heave with nervousness. Immediately, I jump back to reality he broke into my house. He couldn't just go to the front door?
