Narrators P.O.V-
"Alpha Nyxus of the Dark Moon pack is here." They hear a pack member say. Everyone straightens up and awaits his arrival. Alpha Nyxus hasn't been seen in years, only by his pack. But when a neighboring pack calls you for help, you don't hesitate, you go and help out your brother pack.
Aren stands next to Christian, their both rather excited to see them. No son or daughter has been an Alpha at the age of 17. He's the youngest Alpha known to man, his father died a year ago, and his only child was Nyxus.
Speaking of Nyxus, hear he comes. Behind him are a bunch of his pack members, Beta and pack warriors. Christian remembers the first time he met him; it was a couple years ago when he was still in high school. He went on a trip with his father, was made to hang out with Nyxus. He was quiet and reserved but had an aura about him that was scary and made you want to run. And from seeing him now, Christian can see that feeling stayed the same after all these years.
His dark black hair is held together in a man bun, all he wears is black from head to toe. Black, being the most dominating color out there. His hands rest comfortably in his pocket as he strides over to Mr. Germani.
Their hands clasp over each other, "Alpha Nyxus." Mr. Germani says to him.
"Alpha Alexander, Alphfina Coletta." His hands leave Mr. Germani and goes to kiss Mrs. Germani on the hand. "Coletta, you don't look a day over 30." She blushes at his comment of her age. He's always been the type of guy who loved to boast up woman, always being chivalrous.
"You have grown into a handsome man Nyxus, I'm sorry to hear of your father's passing." His face turns cold of hearing about his father's death.
"I'm not." And the conversation was laid to rest. "So, brother, you called on me and my pack for help."
"Yes, we did."
"I was briefed on the matter in the car by my Beta. From what I remember your son is being held in a prison in Insofar."
"Yes."
"And he went there to save his mate, who is a Zastitnik."
"Yes."
"With no plan to get in and get out."
Mr. Germani hesitated to speak on, "True."
"Your son, the noble hero, I can't wait to meet him." Nyxus hand strokes the map, probably trying to figure out a battle plan. "Did you figure out a plan?"
Stepping up from the shadows is Henry Holt, the beta of the pack. "Me and my son, Christian." He points to Christian, who is standing next to Aren. "We decided that the best way to get in and out was a small attack. From the insights of Aren, the east side of Insofar doesn't have a lot of guards. We could come in from that side and then infiltrate as we go on." Henry stops talking, waiting to hear what Nyxus has to say, and it takes an awful long time.
"It sounds good, but my beta here also had a plan that could combine with yours." Behind him walks a tall, scary looking man. A long scar starts from his left eye down to the bottom lip in a diagonal direction. "This is my beta, Slate Beloved." Now this is a cool name, thought Aren.
"Alpha, Beta, nice to meet you all. I believe that we should do your plan, but instead of attacking just on the east side we go from all sides. Vet, you know the changing schedules of the guards, correct."
"Yes." said Vet. "Around 7 o'clock they change shifts, but I'm assuming you want us to attack them before they shift because their tired."
"Correct, then we take them down and have one of them direct us to the cells and grab Alexander, and I'm assuming you want us to grab the Zastitnik also." Everyone looks around at each other, the plan was only to grab Alexander not Quinneth.
"We don't know if we'll be able to get to her. But we'll try." said Mr. Germani, probably in no hope of getting her at all.
"There is one problem." A voice from behind a bunch of men say. Everyone cranes their neck to see who it was, it sounded of a feminine voice. Out walks a short woman with white hair, hair as white as snow.
"And who are you?" asked Christian in curiosity.
She looked him dead in the eye, "I'm Syndell Beloved, the daughter of the Beta." Then, Christian remains quiet for the rest of the meeting.
"Ms. Beloved, what was it you were going to say?" said Mrs. Germani.
"I'm assuming we forgot that none of us can go down and get Alexander. The reason is because our scents will be noticed."
"Then I'll go in." says Katana. She feels rather guilty because she wasn't there to protect Quinneth like she said she would.
"No, Katana you can't. They want you dead, the moment you walk in you'll lose your head. It needs to be a human."
"Why a human?" asked Katana.
Vet chimes in the conversation, "Because they have humans working for them as servants, if we send in a human, they won't think twice about it. Humans are weak, not seen as a threat to them."
"Ok, well do any of you know a human." Everyone in the crowded room thinks to themselves, they really don't know any humans. Until Aren comes up with a person.
"I know a human."
"Who?" asked her father.
"Doesn't matter, she'll help. Just trust me and Christian, we can get her here within an hour."
"Go, and don't fail us." Her and Christian rush out of the room full of people.
"Who were you talking of back there?" He asked rushing to stay in line with Aren.
"You'll see." Was all she said. They ran into the night, under the waxing moon. Going to find the only person that could help them save Alexander.
Getting out of the car, they walk up a rather long driveway. "Where the hell are we?" asked Christian. He looks all around him, but doesn't notice anything that looks familiar.
"Just wait, god your so impatient, just like Alexander, that's why he's in the situation that he's in." They arrive at the door, knocking on it, they wait for someone to receive them. Opening the door, Christian let's out a groan as he sees the person who opens it.
"You can't be serious, Aren." He whispers to her.
"I am. Hey, Lane, right?"
"Lyra. Uh aren't you guys Alexander's friends?" From the way the words came out it looks like she just was sleeping a few minutes ago.
"Yeah, we are. We need your help with something." Lyra sees that the matter has to do with supernatural creatures. She moves them to the backyard, away from her parents' ears. She doesn't want them to know or be a part of any of this.
Aren and Christian explain to her the situation. How Alexander went to go get Quinneth and got caught in the process. They also explain about how none of them can go down there and get him out because their scent would be caught immediately. And they explain how she's the only one that can help them get in and grab Alexander, because her scent would be mixed with the other humans.
"So, you want me to sneak into a heavy guarded Kingdom and get Alexander out?"
"Exactly." She works it over in her head.
"Uh, I don't have any skills to do this. I- I don't even-." They cut her off.
"Look, you are the only human we know. And I hate to say this, but you are the one who told Alexander where she was. If something happens to him, she'll blame you." Christian yanks Aren up by her arm and drags her over to the side. They are currently surrounded by a garden full of flowers.
"What!?" She hisses.
"I don't think guilt tripping her into doing this is going to work." Christian is now angry at Aren, he wants Lyra to do it because she wants to not because shes dragged down my guilt to do it.
"Look, I'm ok with trying any method I can to get her to do this. This isn't the time to play soft." Behind them, Lyra walks up.
"I'll do it." She speaks. Arens words got to her. She was the one to tell Alexander where Quinn was. She shouldn't have, but the way he was looking at her. The desperation in his eyes ached at her heart. "When do we go?"
"Now."
Everyone walks close together in the forest. Darkness surrounds them as the cool, chilly air brushes up against them. Most of them are in their wolf forms, mostly because it's cold and it's easier for them to fight in that form. Nxyus decided to stay in human form, he doesn't particularly like to be in wolf form.
As hours go by, Lyra's legs start to give up. She doesn't have the strength or stamina to keep up with the rest. "I need to take a break." She rests against a tree. Her chest heaves heavy as she's hunched over. Her body ached all over.
"We don't have time to take a break." said Nyxus. He walks to Lyra and sweeps her up in his arms. She lets out a small yelp, shocked by the gesture. "Comfortable?" He asked her. All she does is nod.
After 4 hours of walking, and Lyra taking an hour nap against Nyxus chest, they finally reach Insofar.
"Wake up, girl." He shakes her in his arms, her eyes flutter open.
"Were here, already." He puts her on the ground before she's fully awake and she stumbles a little.
"Ok, Beta Henry, ready to give orders."
"Yes. My warriors will go on the north and east wing, it's 6:50, they'll be getting tired, and let their guard down. The Dark Moon Pack warriors can go on the south and west wing, the rest of us will stay here and wait for a signal. Once we get the signal, Lyra will sneak in and grab Alexander. Everyone understands the assignment."
"Yes, sir!"
While the warriors go and take down the pack guards everyone waits in the bushes, waiting for the signal. Within 10 minutes the signal was given.
"OK Lyra, its' your turn." said Aren. "They won't touch you, trust me. Go on in the castle and blend in. Try to get someone to tell you where the prisons are, get Alexander out and to safety. Can you do that?"
"Yes, I- I think."
"You think!"
"I know, I know I can do it." Lyra leaves everyone to fight while she runs to the castle. Around her are people fighting, it's mayhem. She ends up tripping over something, looking behind her she sees a dead body. A quiet scream leaves her lips. The blood trickles out of his mouth, so grotesque, she thinks.
She can't stop now; she can't give up on the people who are relying on her. She musters up enough energy to keep on. Most of the doors are locked, but one remains open. Walking in she's in awe, kind of how Quinneth was when she first came around. The inside of the castle is grand and regal, but the people inside are not. Lots of mayhem is going on, people running around trying to secure their heads.
"Hey, uh you where are the prisons?" She asked a random bystander.
"Why do you care? We are under attack, MOVE!" He grabs Lyra by the arm and drags her down the hall with him. She tries to get him to let her go, but his grip is strong. Using all her energy she shoves him against the wall, he droops down in pain.
"Now, tell me where the prisons are?" In and out of consciousness, he points down the hall to the left. "Thanks." Leaving the out-of-breath man against the wall, she charges towards the prison. The people who run past her give her weird looks. Everyone is running towards the doors as she runs away from them.
Finally reaching the prison, she sees that the doors are wide open. The guards must have left with the others. Going down the steps she sees a bunch of people in the jail cells. They beg them to let them out, one said he would pay her a million dollars for her to release him. She considered it, but declined.
Looking around, she can't find Alexander. Am I in the right prison, Lyra thought to herself?
"Well, aren't you a pretty thing." Lyra turns around to see a guy, he has an evil look on his face.
"Get away from me." She starts to step back, but ends up back-to-back with a walk.
"I don't think so. Never seen you around here before, you new."
"Ye- yeah." Her heart starts to pound, head starts to spin in fear.
"I'm guessing you're here to get Alexander, he's long gone by now." Damn, now what?
"I was just delivering the meals; I don't know who that is." Her voice starts to shake.
"I think you do. And I'm here to take you out." The guy runs over and grabs up Lyra. His arms are tightly wound around her arms. She tries to fight him off, but with no resolution. Lyra's worries began to fade as someone comes and recuses her.
The guy is suddenly thrown against the wall. Lyra looks for her rescuer, it's Nyxus. He stands over the guy in a triumphant pose. After a few more kicks and punches he's now knocked out.
"Thank you." She said, she walks over to the guy, nudging him with her feet to make sure he's truly knocked out.
"No problem. No man should hurt a woman, a pretty one at that." Lyra just blushes, no words to say. Her first impression of him was that he was angry and stuck up. But when he carried her in the woods, and protected her from the guy, it made her feel bad about how she previously thought of him. "Let's get you out of here."
