Outside, the vicious battle continued, even as the ships became damaged. More federation ships began to come down from Lightspeed, and the hunter's ship began to slowly back up towards the station, and launch all of its transports back to the station, as it came under fire. As the last of the transports fled back to the station, The federation began moving closer. Seconds later, the hunter's ship explodes, destroying many of the surrounding ships. As the remaining ships began to back up, to fix whatever damage that they had weathered, during the previous battle, and following explosions, they sent out 5 troop transports, each carrying twenty Flashtroopers to the docking bays surrounding the station.

We were still making our way around the station when we heard the docking bay doors activate around the station. I put anyone who was either unarmed or too injured to fight in a heavily guarded storage room before bringing everyone else down to the nearest docking bay. Once there, we were able to open the door, into the heavily damaged bay. Rubble and destroyed ship parts dotted the entire area. In the middle, just dropping down into a landing position was two federation troop carriers. They landed quickly, and the doors slammed open.
I and most of the surrounding soldiers were overjoyed as 40 new, and fresh Flashtroopers, along with confirmation that more would soon come. With the help of the newly arrived general, a female Gan named Nanti, We organized our two forces to go on the offensive, as we knew that more hunters were bound to show up at some point. Once we were done, the rest of the ships returned, and we sent the injured people over to them in order to keep them protected. After that, I was relieved from my duty and was sent to join them on the way to the nearby Federation warships.
Nanti’s POV:
After relieving the previous general of his position, I sent out the squadrons I still had access to on a station-wide search of the area. K had gained some knowledge of the layout of the station, including several minefields which had been set up by the hunters prior to the earlier battle. As we continued searching, we found that several of the bay doors had already been open in the moments before our forces had even arrived. By the end of the hour, we had looked around the entire station and found the signs of at least three different squads of hunters having moved through the bay during the time before we entered, but nothing else.
The search continued throughout most of the next hour. We were just about to go back to our ship, and leave to search other nearby planets when we heard explosions coming from many of the surrounding rooms. I sent some of my Flashtroopers to investigate, and checked all of the cameras, in infrared mode, and saw something terrifying. The main dining hall was filled with hunters, and they were still activating explosives all throughout the station. I was knocked to the ground, as one exploded next to me.
I got to my feet, ears still ringing and called for more reinforcements. Explosions were still happening all over the area, and more transports were quickly shooting out of the nearby orbiting warships. Gunfire continued coming from the dining hall, and I started heading in that direction. On the cameras, I counted at least 70 hunters, each heavily armed. I brought the new troops I had to the entrance of the dining hall, where we joined up with survivors which I had sent in earlier and prepared an attack.
The camera showed that the hunters were preparing for a siege, and I began making preparation to counter it. We found some more mines dotted around the entrance, and were able to deactivate them. Checking my cameras, I saw that All of the hunters were standing, weapons prepared behind the door we were currently standing at. Knowing that our current position could lead to a death funnel, with our forces simply being gunned down as they entered, I started looking for other entrances.
After looking around for a few minutes, I realized that the docking bay behind the kitchen could be an easier entranceway, which would allow us to flank the defenders from behind. I was able to bring most of my troops back into the five troop transports I had access to and started heading towards what remained of the kitchen docking bay. As we flew around to that part of the station, we saw hundreds of pieces of rubble and burnt out bodies was floating around us. We flew through the bay doors and slammed down, surrounded by similar bodies, and rubble.
When we were loading out, I got a radio transmission, telling me that another hunter ship had come from lightspeed a few lightyears from our position. As we turned towards the open bay doors, we saw one the ship moved past it. Before we could do anything, the ship started firing at the station, causing us to be knocked back, and me to order the rest of my troops into the destroyed kitchen, as the ship slowly moved passed us, continuing to fire at other points of the station. Once we were no longer under fire, we turned towards the kitchen. It was still filled with rubble and bodies. The door was also completely blocked off. Through one of the windows looking into the dining hall, we could see the hunters walking around, communicating with their ship, or still preparing for a battle by the door. I readied my sidearm, and the rest of my troopers did the same. Remaining hidden, we moved towards the door, and started removing parts of the rubble to let us in.
