The hunters spread throughout the area, most training their weapons on us. Unlike the others, Jinola and I were able to keep our weapons, but we were both already injured, and completely outnumbered. The hunters surrounded us, but I was able to spot a weak point in the surrounding hunters. I nudged Jinola and motioned at the spot, an area that wasn't very heavily guarded by the hunters. She nodded, and, just as the hunters prepared to fire, She grabbed the gun and started to fire, taking out the remaining hunters in that area. Instantly, we both had to dodge the approaching gunfire.
Once I had ducked, I made a dash towards the hole we had just created in the hunters' lines, with Jinola soon behind me. After barely avoiding a shot to the chest, we ducked into a room and soon ended up surrounded by hunters just outside the door. Desperately searching the room, we noticed an air vent to the top left of the room, and a weapons box, which we grabbed a grenade from. As the hunters began ramming the door, we were able to take the vent cover off and rushed to climb into it, as the door fell open, and the hunters started firing at us, hitting me in the leg, as I crawled inside, and tossed the grenade down, before rushing away through the vents, as it exploded behind us.
After we crawled for a few meters, we stopped for me to patch up my leg wound, before we kept moving through the vents. As we passed above several hallways, we heard hunters discussing our seeming disappearance. As we passed by the hallway, we heard someone say, "-n the vents!" Suddenly, the part of the vents we had just climbed through was burst by several gunshots. We sped up our climbing, as we headed back to the area where we had last seen the others, hoping to join up with them again. Eventually, the gunshots finally stopped, and we heard the hunters in that area start to move on.
We soon reached the same room where we had left the other survivors, only to find that the area was covered by dead bodies, from both hunters, and regular ships crew members. We opened the vent cover, and hopped down, only to be greeted by a wounded, limping Zakarune, who collapsed in front of us. As Jinola tried to help him, I moved forward, searching for the others.
I soon found the others, mostly wounded, but alive. However, most of the ship's crew had been killed, allowing us to take some of the weapons from the corpses. After we helped the wounded, those of us who were still able to move, being me, Jinola, Zita, and Zangar, plus a few of the surviving crew members, and we began to move out of the room, hoping to form a perimeter around the area, and determine where any of the surviving hunters were. As we left the room and started to search around, we started to hear gunshots, and explosions around our location on the ship.
Suddenly, the entire ship rocked with explosions. We rushed to a nearby window and saw several Regime ships exit lightspeed, and fire on our ship, and the hunter's ships. The ship slowly shook, and began to tilt towards a nearby planet, and began to be drawn in by its gravitational pull. The hunter's ship begins to return fire, and pull our ship away from the planets gravitational pull. Spotting signs for escape pods to our left, we brought the others out of the crew quarters, and we started heading in that direction.
We found that most of the ship was empty, as the hunters had retreated to their own ship. As we arrived in the escape pod room, several more explosions rocked the ship, and I rushed the others into them. Suddenly, the lights went out, and the ship lurched to the left yet again. The lights came on for a few seconds before it started flickering at an increasing pace. I started loading the survivors onto the escape pods, as the lights finally went out completely. Once all of the others were loaded onto the escape pods, I started launching them all. When I got to the pod that was meant for me, the pod suddenly refused to launch.
An explosion happened behind me, and I grabbed my pistol and stumbled towards the door. More explosions happened around me, as I searched for another escape pod that could take me off the ship before. After a while, I realized that the power had gone completely out, and I was stuck now, on a crashing ship. Desperate for any way to get off, I left the room and started searching for another way off of the ship. Suddenly, the entire ship lurched to the side and gets pulled into the pull of a nearby planet. I was thrown against a nearby wall, with a window, and saw several escape pods leaving the ship. Suddenly, more started coming out, from a ship behind us. The hunter's ship. The ship lurched downwards faster, towards the atmosphere.
Jinola's POV:
I heard massive explosions happen above us in the escape pod, where I was with Zakarune and two other ships crew. Terrified, we found a way to open a window above us and saw the hunter's ship had crashed down onto the Zackonot. As the bits of the two ships began to be pulled into the nearby planets gravitational pull, we directed our pods to dodge them. As we started out the windows, we saw other pods being hit by the rubble and exploding. Finally, we landed on the planet. When we got the door open, we found ourselves in a large expansive forest, with Tagants(Small flyers) around us. Suddenly, other pods start landing around us. As I started helping others out of the pods, I realized that Zagans was not among us.
