Zita’s POV:
This is one of the most interesting cases I’ve been brought into. My target, a ”hunter” as they are known is sitting across from me, unmoving, and unflinching. Behind me, Nikai sat in the control room and adjusted the microphone attached to the room's speakers. The hunter tilted his head and leaned towards me. Smirking, I pushed my chair forward towards him. He leaned backward. "So, Are you going t say anything, or are we just going to sit here in silence?" He questioned, in an exasperated voice. Behind me, Darvos shuffled nervously. I grabbed my notes from my earlier questioning and started flipping through it. I stopped on a particular page, which I had noted earlier.
I spun it over and angled it towards the hunter. ”Recognise this?” I questioned. He leaned closer, staring intently at the blueprint. ”These are the schematics for my ship.” He responded. “Made to house at least 8 people," I responded. "Yet you're the only one we've found on this station and considering what we know about your tactics, I don't assume you've come alone." The hunter raised an eyebrow. "You're aware of us?" I smirked in response to this.
"I have for quite a while now." I shut the notes and put it off to the side. "The federation didn't believe you to be a threat, until now." The hunter moved closer, making a weak grab for my notes, which I easily avoided. "So what changed their mind?" He responded, sounding mildly amused. “You flew to close to the sun,” I said, quickly. “You hit ships close enough to the border to get their attention.” He leaned back with a smile. “That’s the plan.” He responded coolly. I raised my eyebrow at this. “That’s your plan?!” The hunter chuckles.
“That’s the point. Of all of this!” He said, sounding almost overjoyed. “The federation has left the outer rim to rot for the largest part of its existence. It has left out homes to whatever tyrants, pirates, and Regime mercenaries may come at us. We can take them down, bit by bit" I raised my eyebrow. “So you kill people?" I responded, incredulously. He shrugged. “What we do is nothing worse than the crimes that have been done to us over the years." He closed his eyes. "Bullshit," I responded, coldly. "You have brutally murdered thousands of people, destroyed hundreds of credits in property, and what attention have you gotten? One ship, and an interrogator."
The hunter chuckled. "You think this is it, do you? If they send all this for a couple of hundred ships, then what do you think they will do when we start hitting larger targets?! Stations, bases, whatever we can find." He smirked, confidently. "And the Federation will wipe you off the face of the earth," I responded, just as confidently. "They won't find us." He said. "When they come to investigate every area, we would already be gone. Even as w destroy their capital, they will never find us! Want proof? You can stick around and find out what will happen to this entire station in a few minutes!" He chuckled, as he glances at the people in the control room behind us.
"So this station is your next target," I said forcefully. "Now, you're getting the big picture." He responded, leaning forwards. "We didn't fly to close to the sun by accident, we're moving into phase 2. We have agent all across the galaxy, waiting for the call. All we need to start is a forward base into the inner rim. And now, we've found it." He sweeps his hands around the room as he speaks. "You can leave, if you want but you're only delaying the inevitable, as we begin to move further, and further." He chuckles, deeply.
"And what then?" I responded. "When you take down the only system of order in this part of the galaxy, what do you plan to replace it?" The hunter's confident smile vanished but was quickly replaced. "We have plans." He said simply, "numerous." He leaned closer to me. "And what would those be?" The hunter pushed his chair back. "I think I've told you enough." He said simply, before returning to his original position. He refused to answer any more questions and only sat there, as unmoving as before.
"Well that went well, I would say," Nikai said as I left the interrogation room. "We know a bit about their plans," I responded, starting to move down the hallway. "We need to warn the federation to keep their eye out, and up their security in the outer rim. As we started to get this done, the science team told us that they had managed to Identify the devices we had found on the hunter.
The first device was a simple incinerator. Since the army had no need for it, it was mostly used by civilians that had large amounts of garbage to get rid of, like cooks, and landfill workers. The second device was a cloaking chip. Although larger ones were used on ships, such a small cloaking device had not been created, or widely used by the federation. Simple tests reveal that it was able to quickly, and efficiently turn a person invisible. The third, and final device was a more advanced laser sword, which turned on faster.
Zagan's POV:
We were returning to Zargos from another patrol when we got a message that there was a problem They had an important message that needed to get to the Federation quickly. We opened up our instant message to the department of defense and sent them the message. Apparently, the hunters had cells all throughout the galaxy! Once the message was sent, we started to head back towards the station, but suddenly the power was cut for the entire ship! As we turned back to the station, we saw the lights slowly blink, and go out. Suddenly, several explosions began to rock the ship, and it began to tilt towards the living quarters, at speeds that seemed like it would smash right through!
