We entered through one of the many holes in the wall, presumably from the explosion. The docking bay was empty and filled with scorch marks. Some of us expected this, the others were just as surprised as I was. If they hadn't entered through the kitchen's docking bay, then who killed the crew in the kitchen? Thinking through all the other places where explosions occurred, none of them had their own docking bays, nor were docking bays. I ordered the Flashtroopers to spread out, and continue to search, but found nothing. I radioed back my findings to the war room, as we slowly spread out of the bay. As I entered the kitchen, I nearly tripped over something. As I looked to what I had tripped over. There was nothing there!
I reached out and touched something. There was a small flash of light. As I picked it up to examine it, I found that it was a piece of rubble from a ship. We entered the docking area again and found pieces like that everywhere. One of the ships must have caused the explosion here, but I couldn’t recognize the cloaking technology. I told one of my flashtroopers to send it back to the lab, but something about the device used seemed familiar. Before anything could happen, one of my Flashtroopers was stabbed through the chest by an unseen enemy.
The panic through the remaining Flashtroopers was immediately apparent. Through my radio, I could already hear them screaming, and I could hear those in the war room questioning what was going on. I called for support from the other squadrons in the area, as another Flashtroopers collapses over, his head blown open by a stray sniper shot. I called my remaining squadron to retreat, as we were still under fire. Behind me, I saw several hunters slowly unclocked themselves and started firing at us, cutting down most of my soldiers. We ducked into the kitchen and begun returning fire. As we fell back to the hallway, we heard gunfire going off in other parts of the station.
Zagan’s POV:
Throughout the station, we saw several Flashtroopers voices cut off from the radio as they were all killed. Doing some quick math, that left us with at least 15. I was beginning to doubt that it would be enough for us to get through this day alive. Our rescue was still a few hours off, and we were getting surrounded. I shook that thought from my head, deciding to focus on the current task instead.
With increasingly scarce resources to use, we sent out an alarm to those who were still left, telling them to go to areas which could be easily locked down, and to arm themselves with whatever they can find. We needed to go into lockdown, and quickly. The war room could easily be locked down, but I needed to be able to protect the others on this station, at least until the Federation fleet arrived. Then we could solve this mess, I knew it.
As we prepared for lockdown, the remaining Flashtroopers returned to the room. As we counted them, we noticed that there was one missing. Out of a remaining count of 15, we found only 14 in this room. We searched for the entire station using cameras and tried to locate his radio, but found nothing. Eventually, we were forced to lock the station down without having found the last Flashtrooper. We sent an update of our situation to the federations coming fleet and prepared for war as the Hunters began uncloaking themselves across the station.
