Alexander pulls out of the drive way and heads down the road. I focus my gaze on the trees that pass by, trying not to think of the last 20 minutes.
This is not how I thought my night would turn out. The way Myer's acted was so uncalled for, I would never cheat on him and he should know that. Breaking up with him was the best decision I made tonight. I don't need that type of behavior in my life. The silence is broken by the hoarse and tense voice of Alexander.
"I'm sorry you had to see me act that way." Alexanders tells me while focusing his eyes on the road. This is the first thing he has said something since we got in the car. The only thing that's been coming out of him are hard grunts and sighs. I could still feel his anger radiating throughout the car. His hands tighten on the steering wheel while he clenches his jaw.
"No, it's alright. You were protecting me, again." I say reassuring him. If he wasn't there to rectify the situation, I don't know what Myers would have done to me and I don't want to know.
"I swear Quinn... to see him putting his hands on you. The way he talked to you I wanted to wring his neck. All I saw was red." He says sneering out through his teeth. His grip holds firmly on the steering wheel as he turns the corner on my street. "But that's no excuse for the way I acted, and if you were embarrassed and never want to see me again, I understand." His voice lowers.
How could he even think that, that I wouldn't want to see him again. "No, I want to see you again." I say softly. His eyes land on me as he also focuses on the road. "Don't apologize for what you did, you had every right."
He pulls up to my house and turns the car off. We sit in silence while looking at each other. If he would have wrung Myers neck, I wouldn't have stopped him, and that scares me.
"Let me see your arm." I bring my arm over the arm rest so he can look at it. His heated hands trail over my bruised arm. It's now more spread and developed than when we were at the restaurant. The color is blueish and black. mark. He moves his head from side to side trying to figure out the proper words to say. Instead, he just lets out a small growl and turns away from me.
"I could just classify it as a battle mark." I say, trying to break the ice. He doesn't even reply to my quick remark. "I'm alright, really. It's a small bruise it'll go away." I tell him.
He turns to me and sighs. As my eyes linger on him, I notice his hand is bruised. His hand must have bled when he was punching Myer's in the face. I reach over to grab it, his rough calluses rub up against the soft pallets of my fingers.
I trail my fingers over his hand, examining the bruise. A long open wound lies on his hand with bloody knuckles, an attractive battle scar he's going to have. I could tell by the way he scrunched up his face when I touched it that it hurts.
"You're in pain, aren't you?" I ask him, my eyes glazing over his. My finger rubs the bruise softly, his breath becomes uneven as his eyes blacken.
"No, I'm a man Quinn a little bit of pain is nothing to us." He says pulling his hand away from me. Guys always want to act tough around a girl when they really don't have to. I let out a humph of breath as I grab it once more in mine.
"Look, you are obviously hurt, come in the house I'll bandage it up." I grab my purse and began to open up the door. As quick as a flash, he places his hand on mine. I could smell his manly cologne as he leans into me. If I moved just an inch more, my lips would be on his.
"You really don't have to." Those plump lips twitch a bit. I take in his every breath, every smell, savoring it as if he may disappear tomorrow and never return.
"But I want to. Now come inside I'm not taking no for an answer." I manage to say as I move his hand away from the door handle and get out. He sighs in defeat and follows behind me. The black sky sucks us in, but the street lights give off a path to my house.
Arriving to the door, I fumble in my bag for the key. Alexander just lingers behind me, his presence making me a bit nervous. I can't believe he's going to be in my house, in my room where I sleep, where my undergarments lay. A small part of me wants something to occur between us, but another part says no. You just got out of a relationship Quinn, going in on another guy seems. . .sleezy.
"GRANDPA!" My voice carries over the house. Once I don't hear a response, those nerves in my body calm down. He still must be out with Irene. "Ok, my grandpa isn't here, head up to my room I'll be there in a minute. It's the second door to the right." He gives me a nod and heads up to my room. I walk into the living room and turn the lamp on, then I sit my bag on the couch. God this has been a long night.
The only thing that hangs on my mind is that I have a sexy god man in my room. How?
I lock the front door and head up to my room where Alexander is waiting for me. When I walk in, I see him looking around. I lean my head against the door watching him in action.
He first walks over to my paintings looking them over. His picks up the one of the ocean, his non-bruised hand trailing over the baby blue color. I remember painting that, it's my favorite one. I woke up early in the morning to head down to the beach. It's better to go when no one is there. The weather was great and the sun was shining. It was the perfect photo op.
He sits it down and walks over to my wall of pictures. Taking the picture of me, my mom and dad off the wall and looking at it. His brows quirk up. "That's my parents and I." I tell him walking over and taking the picture out of his hand and putting it back on the wall. "They died when I was younger, don't really remember them like that. Want to sit on the bed so I can fix your hand."
He walks over to my bed while I go in the bathroom to get the first aid kit. Before I walk out the bathroom, I check the bruise on my arm. Thank god it isn't that big. I can just wear jackets to school and work for the next two weeks. I don't want my Grandpa to find out about it he'll freak out.
I leave my predatory thoughts behind and head to my patient. "Give me your hand." He raises his hand to me and I hold it firmly in mine.
He follows my every movement, from me picking up the cotton ball, to putting the alcohol on, those eyes never leave me, and I kind of don't want them to. I'm not used to someone staring at me, trying discover things I bury under the surface. Just from his eyes, it makes me want to confess everything in one sitting.
"This is going to sting." I warn him.
The cotton ball lands on his bruised bloody knuckles, he sucks in his teeth while closing his eyes. I let out a chuckle as I add more alcohol to a new cotton ball. He cuts his eyes at me. "And what are you laughing at?" Those callused, rough hands tighten on my waist, pulling me close to him. My body stiffens, but then relax against his touch.
"Nothing, just in the car you were saying you were "a man" and everything and here you are groaning out in pain. It's just redundant that's all." I said wrapping bandages on the hand.
"It was a slip up groan nothing else. I'll give you something to laugh about." His fingers start to tickle me, tons of sparks surge through my body. A bunch of laughs rip from my throat. I tried to push his hands away, but he locks me in place with his legs. "Alexander, stop please!" I squeal.
After a few minutes he ends up stopping, his eyes revert to my lips, and I his. We stay like that for a few minutes. Heat rises around us in waves. His thumb brushes the curl out of my eye. From the slight gesture, I jump back. His hooded eyes lower as a deep chuckle rumpled in his broad chest. I wiggle out of his strong grip. Looking in his eyes, I could see that he was disappointed.
"Ok I'm going to go put up the kit be right back." Entering back into my room I see Alexander standing on my balcony, leaned up against my door while he rubs his bad hand. I walk over to him, my hand lands on his bad one.
"You need some pain medicine?" I asked him. The moon reflects in his eyes.
"I'm fine Quinn. Thank you for wrapping my hand up and caring for me." He says rubbing my hand back.
"No problem." I give him a small smile and look out at the sky. Tonight, is when the great conjunction occurs, I totally forgot. I remember my science teacher raving about this a couple months back.
The great conjunction is when the planets Jupiter and Saturn appear closer in the sky then they have ever been and will be. It occurs every 20 years.
"Look it's the great conjunction." I tell Alexander pointing at the sky.
"Where is it?" He asked trying to find the gaseous planets. I grab on to his wrist and use his finger to show him where they are.
"There's Jupiter... then right over there is Saturn." He follows his hand that I'm holding. "Cool huh?"
"Yeah, it's something extraordinary." I let go of his hand as it drops down to his side.
"Can you imagine being apart for that long? Then having to wait 20 years to be close again." I say staring at the planets in the sky.
"You don't even know the half of it." I can feel his majestic eyes search all over my face. Reading all the stories I lay buried beneath the surface. I never wanted anyone to figure me out, will he?
"What do you mean?" I ask, startled.
"Myers wasn't wrong, I do like you. The first time I laid my eyes on you, I thought you were the most beautiful creature I've ever seen. I love our small bickering, and the way you act like your not affected by my affections towards you. Your smart, and funny and you invade my thought all the time." He said stepping away from the wall. My eyes widen by his boldness. "I can't hold it in any longer, most guys will try to be good and wait, but I don't want any longer. I-I want you."
"Oh wow- I-I am shocked. You actually like me?" I back up closer against the wall.
"Is that so hard to believe, that I could like you?" He steps even closer. As he gets closer and closer, the air between us deafens. Leaning down to me, his breath fans over my face. My breath hitches in my throat. "Do you think your ugly or something?"
"NO! God no. It's just- your so-." My voice trails off, not knowing what words I was going to say after the 'so.' His hands loop around my waist pushing me close against his chest.
He leans down, I can taste the venom in his words. "When I saw you- being dragged up the stairs by that- that rat, all I saw was red. It made me angry beyond words that someone was hurting you. The only thing I remember is running up those steps, and beating him half to death. I would gladly do it again. Fuck what I said in the car, I have no regrets." I believed every word he said just now, he did look pretty mad when I glanced over to him. Then, when I tried to stop him from killing Myers, his once black eyes with grey specks were a sunkissed yellow, bright and blaring. My breath caught inside of itself, never have I ever seen something like that.
"I've been wanting to do this for a long time." He says gliding his index finger over my lip. "Every since I first saw you at that party in the skin tight dress."
"Do what?" I ask innocently. With my body leaned up against my wall, he pulls me off of it into his chest. My breast squish up against him, he notices and smirks a bit. His rough hands move down the sides of my arms, trailing his fingers slowly up my skin. Small trinkets of something I can't explain booms out of me. He notices the slight increase of my breathing.
"You ok?"
"Ye-yeah." My head bobs up and down, like a bobble head. "You just make me nervous, that's all."
"Is that a good thing?" His voice comes out rough and hoarse. I just shrug my shoulders, unsure of what to say. He takes this as his opening to raffle me. Suddenly an eruption of sparks explodes all over my body.
His lips connect with mine. I stand there for a few minutes shocked by what is happening. All the bad things that happened today suddenly leave my mind. In the world right now it's just me and him. I tried so hard to not admit that I liked him, to act like his. . .affectionate advances towards me meant nothing, but with his lips on mine and the grip that his hands hold on my body it's hard to deny: I'm head over heels for Alexander Germani.
I hesitantly began to kiss him back. His soft lips glide over mines, as he roams his hands all over my body. I bring his face to me trying to bring him impossibly closer. I yank on his hair a little as he lets out a moan in my mouth. He mumbles against my lips, "You taste so good, like honey and apples." I whimper from his comment.
He squeezes my love handles with his muscular hands. "I always liked my girls with a bit of meat." I've always been a bit insecure about my love handles, but to know that he likes them makes me proud that I have them.
I let out a squeak, shocked by the gesture as his tongue darts in my mouth. I've never been tongue kissed before, it's feels like an eel surfing in my mouth. But there's something about it that makes me flutter. His hand grips my butt, a soft gasp escapes my mouth. "You feel so nice." His words come out all slurry.
Our tongues fight for dominance as our kiss goes on for what seemed like forever.
Reluctantly we let go of each other so we can catch our breaths. His swollen lips twitch as I bite on mine seductively. I've never kissed anybody like that before, but I would like to kiss him again. We stand there for the what seemed like forever staring into each other's eyes.
Jupiter and Saturn might not be together again for another 20 years, but I hope me and Alexander can be.
Parking my car in the driveway I grab my lavender back pack and head inside the school. Looking around, I see a bunch of kids from my economics class carrying poster boards and such. Oh, crap I forgot we were presenting our projects to Germani Industries today. That means Alexander is going to be here today also. I don't think I can handle seeing him.
After the kiss last night, I rushed Alexander out the door and ran up to my room.
I was so flushed with emotions I didn't know how to handle the situation so pushing him out the door made a lot of sense at the time. The kiss just turned me upside down, changed everything inside of me. The power and gumption behind the kiss was just... extraordinary. He was gentle, but rough with me. I can vividly remember his hands on my butt, the grip.
I have no idea how he felt about it, he was already out the door. Walking through the sea of projects I find my eyes landing on mine and Lyra's poster board. She stands by it, texting on her phone. Slamming down my backpack, she jumps up in fright.
"Damn Quinn you scared me. And where have you been? School started 20 minutes ago and I had to set up everything on my own. Usually I'm the one that's late not you." She says huffing.
"Sorry. I went to sleep late last night. Also, it's one poster board not a lot of work to be done." I tell her while checking out the poster board. We really did well on the project.
"Late night with Alexander huh?" She asked lifting up her eyebrow at me.
"You could say that." I mumble, looking down at my hand.
"You want to talk about it?" She asked trying to get eye to eye with me.
"Not really. I just want t-." Before I could finish my sentence Alexander, his father and cousin walk in. His father is wearing a black suit with his hair slicked back. Greta, the cousin, is wearing a purple pencil skirt, flower blouse, hair pinned up in the back with white heels. Lastly, Alexander, the person I've been trying to avoid, is wearing a blue shirt with a jean jacket, some black jeans and white tennis shoes. His curly hair hangs freely as one curl hangs over his eye.
How I would love to reach out and tuck the curl behind his ear. To caress his soft cheek and kiss his soft lips.
I shake my head trying to focus on why I'm here, the school project. Ever since last night I haven't been able to get him out of my head. His image is embroidered in my mind.
I watch him walk around looking at everyone's project. That curly head looks up and spots me across the room. Our eyes connect once again, he stares at me with such lust. It feels like we are the only people in the room right now. He brings his finger up to his lips and drags it across them as he looks deep in my eyes. My breath hitches I know what he's trying to do, remind me of last night.
I hesitantly tear my eyes away from him, focusing on the table next to me. Looks like we don't have enough cards.
"Lyra, looks like we don't have enough cards for our project I should go get some." I tell her pointing down at the limited number of cards we have.
She looks at me with confusion written on her face. "Harlequinn nobody cares about that we'll be fine." She tells me.
"No, no we should have more. You stay here and I'll go get some." I leave her with the poster board and start to walk down the hall back to the classroom. Looking over to Alexander I see him looking at me with curiousness, wondering where I'm going. I tear my gaze from him and head down the hall. I walk into the classroom and over to Mr. Banhammer's desk. Grabbing the cards from his desk, I hear the door shut behind me.
Lifting my head up a strong smell of cologne shoots through my nose. I don't even have to turn around to know who's behind me.
"Hey. You haven't returned my texts or calls." He speaks. I turn around to see Alexander leaned up against the door with hands in his pockets. I look to see his muscles flex out of his jean jacket.
"I woke up late today, so you know." I look everywhere but him. He walks over; his chest comes face to face with me. I gulp, nervous of his closeness, but I wasn't last night.
"Look I know the kiss was... unexpected. We don't have to kiss anymore." He says reassuring me. His arms rest against the desk, locking me between him. No where to go now. "Even though I would LOVE to kiss you again, to hear you moan in my mouth, I'll stop if you want me to." I almost let out a moan, but stop myself. What is he doing to me?
"It's not that, I liked the kiss it's just I don't think I'm ready for more." I said looking up at him. A disappointing look forms on his face. "I just got out of a relationship, it seems wrong." I shrug.
"Look, it's alright. We can just be friends... Right?" He asked looking for some hope in my face.
"Yeah, we can be friends." I respond back.
"So, you liked the kiss?" He asked a smile forming on his lips. I roll my eyes at him and cross my arms.
"Don't get cocky now. Maybe we could... You know be more just not now." I say giving him the hope of maybe there could be a me and him.
Outside the room in the hallway, I hear Lyra calling out my name. In haste, I run to the door quickly shielding her from seeing Alexander in the room. She doesn't know what went down last night and I wasn't trying to talk about it when I was still wrapping my head around it.
She looks at me weirdly. "Hey... Uh we are about to present our project in a few minutes you ready?" She asked.
"Yeah, got the cards right here." I look down in my hands to see the cards not in them. Damn it Quinn you got distracted, again.
"You mean these cards?" Alexander pushes the door open slightly pushing me forward. He comes from around me with the cards in hand.
I snatch the cards, and give him a dirty look. "Yeah, those cards." I say mumbling to him through my teeth. "Well, we should be going thank you." I grab Lyra by her arm as I walk us both down the hall back to the cafeteria.
"Why were you alone in the classroom with him? Were you guys making out?" She asked squealing loudly.
"What! No, we weren't making out. We were... conversating." We reach the cafeteria and I start to sort out the cards.
"About what?" She leans up against the table waiting for me to answer.
"You know, about stuff." I tell her.
"What kinds of stuff Quinn?" I look up and see Alexander and his father and Greta walking over to us. Saved by the bell.
"Oh, look can't answer that question right now, we got to show our project." She rolled her eyes at me and tells me that this conversation isn't over. I know it isn't over, trust me. Lyra never lets anything go.
"This is the last project that needs to be presented. This is Quinneth Worthingshire and Lyraina Berkely." Mr. Banhammer says presenting us. We say Hi to everyone and start presenting our project.
After presenting the project...
"Well girls you did well." Mr. Germani says as he eyes our project. "Best one I've seen today." He gives Lyra a smile while he looks me weirdly. Does he not like me or something?
"Really wonderful girls." Greta says smiling at both of us.
"Yes... quite captivating." Alexander chimes in staring straight at me. Those black eyes roam over my body, if looks could kill I'd be dead. I clear my throat and look towards Lyra.
"Thank you." Me and Lyra say in unison. They all walk over to some other kids and conversate with them.
Lyra runs right over and starts to shake me.
"What the hell was that. He basically was eye raping you the whole time. The way he said 'captivating' and stared straight at you." She said with excitement in her voice.
"It was just him being a flirt that's all." I tell her while pulling her hands off of me. But inside, I was popping off like fireworks. He was seducing me, in front of his family.
"No, that was the look of something happened. What happened Quinn and don't leave anything out." She tells me crossing her arms.
God this is going to be a long day, and a long conversation.
