Quinneths P.O.V-
"SHUT UP!" Yelled one of the guards to the prisoner. This is the sixth time he's yelled at him, him being named Leo. It's been a couple hours since we've been here no one has come and seen us. In the corner sits Katana, her head rest lazily against the wall as her feet tap against the concrete floor.
I'm sure there isn't a health inspector in Oslow, because the living conditions aren't livable. A dark tangerine color drips through the cracks of the ceiling, while strong winds come through the floor cracks. I cling to myself trying to warm myself up. They gave us thin covers and rock-hard beds to lay on.
There's around 10 of us down here with one prison guard, who by the way has been asleep most of the time he's been down here. Most of the prisoners that are in here have been here for months, some for 2 years. Leo, the man that was screamed at by the guard, was put in here a couple months ago because he spoke out against the King. The King being Sasha's father, I believe they run Insofar like a dictatorship.
Leo leans against the rusty jail bars, his mouth inches away from the ground. When he came here, they beat him pretty badly, so his legs are horribly bruised. "What are you girls in here for" asked Leo. I could tell he was deprived of social communication, from him asking that question he looked pretty eager.
"I- WE were both in here for being hated by Sasha." I tell him.
"The Princess? That makes sense. What Kingdom or pack are you from?" Pack? Kingdom? Should I tell him that I'm not a werewolf but in fact a human with immense powers.
"I'm not a we-"
I'm instantly cut off by a protesting Katana. This is the first thing she has said since we've been here. As of right now we've been in these rusty dog cages for 8 hours now. I hope that Lyra got to my grandfather in time to tell him what happened. She didn't stay around long enough to know where we were. I just hope she isn't dead. . .like Will.
His death still haunts me. Did I really kill him, or was their other forces at play? When he was standing in the middle of the street, he had a look of being dazed out, and confused. I think Sasha did what she did to me and put him under her compulsion. But at the club he looked totally fine, talking to me like he usually does.
Yes, what he did to me at the party was wrong, but I would never wish death upon him. So, when that tree branch came down on him it sent a pang through my body. I'd gotten so angry; I didn't know what came over me.
"Don't answer his question Quinn, don't even talk to him he's a radical." She rolls her eyes, disgusted at the whole situation.
"A radical? What are you a politician or something?" Leo says lifting his brow at Katana. I could tell he was rather curious with her; from the moment we've arrived he couldn't take his eye off of her. I honestly don't think he's is looking for a relationship, especially right now.
"No, I'm a Khan." His smoky smile turns into droopy fright, is he scared of her being a Khan or just of her.
"A Khan? I've never met a Khan before, we thought they all died during the War of Khans." What does he mean. . .die? Sasha did say Katana was returning back to her home, to Oslow.
I look towards Katana; her face starts to tighten up from what he said. Her body becoming tight from his words.
"What- what is he talking about Katana? War of Khans?" She leans up from the wall and crawls over to me.
"Oslow. It used to be the place where Khan's resided. Until Sasha and her father ran us out of here. Almost half our clan died in the war fighting against them. We are tough people, but no match to a red wolf." I could hear the pain in her voice when she mentioned all the Khans dying, that is such a horrible thing to do.
"Also, without the help of Sylo Sniper they would have never won. That man is such a disgrace." Leo says this with a look of disgust on his face.
"Who's this Sylo Sniper character." I asked out loud.
"A traitor." said Leo.
"Indeed. He used to be the best fighter Nygaard had ever seen. When my uncle married Stella, my grandfather, the past king, was angry. He kicked him out of the line of succession. When his brother, Etho, also known as King Adalwolf came to the throne he was furious. He and Sylo broke away from him and created the Kingdom of Insofar. With Sylo leaving Nygaard they lost their best fight instructor and the daughter and sons of Sylo."
There is so much that I don't know about this world. All these Kingdoms, wars and people I can't even keep up with it all. It's like living inside of the Games of Thrones. And these daughter and sons of Sylo are they all his kids.
"Who are the daughter and sons of Sylo?" I ask the both of them.
"Do you not know anything?" Leo says dumbly. "The daughter and sons of Sylo are groups of elite fighters that have been trained by Sylo. He takes children from orphan homes and turns them into Assassin killer. The one girl that brought you in here, Katherine Constantine, she's a daughter of Sylo."
"Now that I think about it she did look scary. And no, I'm not from here I'm a human." A gasp escapes his lips. Has he never met a human before? I'm sure he has, there's billions of us.
"A human? That explains everything. When you came in here a couple of hours ago your smell was weird, now I know why. What would Sasha want with you, no offense but humans are pretty weak."
"I know this, trust me I've been told this before. I'm mated to Alexander of the Golden Summit Pack."
"Alexander? He's the future Alpha of the most powerful pack in Nygaard, you hit the gold mine with that one. But that still doesn't answer the question of why she would want you? What are you like a Zastitnik or something?"
"Yes, actually."
"If you tell anyone what she is I'll kill you myself." Now Katana is standing up next to me, she looms over me in a protective stance. Leo eyes widen by her comment, I can tell he's probably contemplating the next thing he says to her.
"Fine, I won't." He holds his hands up, scared that she may kill him. Even though it would be rather hard because we were in a different cage than he is. But I won't put it past Katana she probably can bend the bars back and kill him easily.
"Well, if you have powers why don't you just. . .I don't know burst yourself out of here." He makes a bursting noise with his mouth. I wish it was that easy.
"I uh- I can't control them." I look down at the ground with embarrassment. It's not fun to tell people you have powers and can't control them.
"That sucks." Is all he says.
"Tell me about it. Have you tried- you know to escape before?" I asked curiously. If you've been trapped in a dictator prison you'd eventually try to escape.
"I tried to channel my wife, Karley. But obviously the message never got to her because she hasn't come to rescue me." Channeling?
"What's that?" I leaned closer to the bars, interested in what he was saying.
"Channeling is when you can send a message to your mate via brain." That's. . .pretty neat. "I don't know if you'll be able to do it since you're a human and all."
"No, she'll be able to do it. All you need to do is have a mate, that's all." said Katana. "I don't know why I didn't think of that earlier."
"Because you're not as clever as me." said a cocky Leo.
"Shut up or I WILL kill you." Her finger points fiercely at Leo.
"If I can channel Alexander, then that can get us out of here. Can you try and channel Kai or your father Vet?"
"Vet Khan? The King of all Khans, wow I've met two of the greats. This is the best day ever, and that says a lot because I'm in a pungent, dirty prison."
"Can't you try and channel your brother Kai." I said directing my attention from Leo to Katana.
"No. It only works with mates, and I don't have one of those."
"Ok, so how do I do it. Just like- close my eyes and think of Alexander."
She lets out a stiff chuckle, "That's exactly what you do. Quiet your breath and heart, and just relax and envision Alexander's face."
"Ok." I cross my legs on the ground. My eyes close and I try and envision Alexander's face. His dark eyes with grey specks, those bright pink lips and chisel chin. It takes me a few minutes to conjure it up, the dripping water and cool winds try to shy me away from what I need to do.
"Is it working?" Katana asked eagerly.
"I don't think it I-"
All of a sudden, I'm in Alexander's head. I'm able to look through his eyes, god this is so cool. My anger that I felt for him suddenly disappear. I forgive him for everything, him hiding things from me and thinking I killed those guards.
To be with him feels so good, like I'm finally at peace at home. I can tell that's he's in a big room, with various other men and women. It looks like he's in some sort of meeting. A long oak table sits in front of him while he files his fingers through a bunch of papers.
"What's he doing?" asked Katana.
"He's in the meeting room at the pack house." I replied.
"Ok, try and talk to him." That seems more easier in theory.
"Uh alright. Alexander. . .I'm trapped in Oslow, I need you to come and save me and Katana. Sasha has us trapped here." I hear nothing, and his behavior doesn't change. "I don't think he heard me."
"You've got to try harder Quinn." She says with aggravation in her voice.
"I AM TRYING!" I yell at her. "Sorry I didn't mean to yell- it's just more difficult than I thought." I spend the next few minutes sending message after message and speaking out.
"Any results."
"No, I don't think it worked." I lay my head against the jail bars; it looks like were stuck here unless some miracle happens. Were terribly doomed.
Alexander's P.O.V.-
"No one wants to do that Alpha. With all due respect." Said the Beta. I let out a huff of breath and turn in my rolling chair.
For the past 3 hours we've been sitting in this meeting room. My fingers drum impatiently against the smooth oak table. All of my papers scatter in front of me, so I start to file them together until their in a neat stack.
To my left sits all the important pack members from each division, and on the right is me, Aren, Christian and Oscar. We really didn't need to be here, but since we are the future and this is a big matter, they wanted us here to see how things are done.
Currently, they've been yelling at each other for about 30 minutes now. They are trying to figure out a plan against Sasha. It's been a couple of days and her nor her people of Insofar have acted. No breeches in the borders or randomly dead bodies lying around.
The Beta and some of the other members want to not act on anything and wait until Sasha does something. With her being dangerous and unpredictable she could do practically anything. Insofar is known for having the best fighters and strong army. We, on the other hand, are one of the most powerful packs in Nygaard, but are smaller in size. Gamma Parbat is the best fighter I've ever seen, but not as good as Insofar's own, Sylo Sniper.
Whereas my father, the Alpha, and the Gamma and others want to do something now. Which honestly, I support, not because it's my father but because it's a good plan. If we take on Sasha right now it'll be by surprise and she won't see it coming.
Looking over, I can see the Beta's, Christian's father, starting to get rather angry. He doesn't usually get angry, but when someone defies him, he really can't control it.
"So, what you want to do is stay here and wait until she makes a move?" asked the Gamma.
"That is exactly what I want to do, Charles. She is unpredictable, we don't want to do anything until we know actually what she is doing." Henry, the Beta, gets out of his chair. Henry stands at almost 6ft tall. The man is not that intimating, but with his height you would think he is.
"Yeah." said Kal chiming in to the conversation. Kal, being the leader of the scouts in Nygaard, knows how dangerous she really is. When they were hunting her in the beginning, she ended up killing two of his best scouts. "I'm out there in the woods everyday while you all, no disrespect, are huddled up in this humble abode. Me and my boys are out there, risking our lives to keep you safe I know the dangers."
Henry walks in front of the room. His dominance and confidence vibrate throughout the room, "I say we act now. She could be sitting at home in Insofar on her throne polishing her swords waiting to take us out right now."
"That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard." One of the members on the board said.
"Do you think you could fight Sasha?" My father asked the pack member. "Insofar has an influx of red wolfs, who by the way have tons of power if you weren't aware." The member, whom my father just kind of yelled at, cowards under his own long hair.
"Also, they have the best fighter that has ever lived, Sylo Sniper." Everyone in the room chills when his name is spoken. Sylo Sniper, the leader of the daughters and sons of Sylo. He takes them from birth and trains them into fighting robot machines. They feel or see nothing but vengeance and hate.
One of their fighters, Piper Pryde, is the scariest of them all. She took down 6 men all by herself, without leaving with a scratch on her tiny body. I've seen her once, even I was kind of scared and I'm a future Alpha.
"He's known as the Dragon Snake which is a really cool name." said Aren who's sitting across the table, chewing on her pink bubble gum. Everyone's eyes turn towards her, mostly her father gives her the evil eye. Aren may act tough, but around her father she cowers up like courage the cowardly dog. "Sorry Ba." She tells him.
"Doesn't matter if he's the Dragon Snake, Red Wolf, or IT the clown. We will not back down to anyone, we are the most powerful pack for a reason." He's got a point; my great-grandfather Ivan went to war against a pack in Dane. They had less men than them but defeated them like it was nothing. Courage and determination are literally in my blood.
"I stand with the Alpha."
"Me too."
As everyone in the room keeps rambling on and on, I slug myself into my chair. I really would like to be spending my time with Quinneth. It's currently been a week since we last talked. I have sent her a few messages, but none since then. I knew that she was angry with me, but not that angry.
We've had our arguments, but none this serious. When I'm not around her I feel. . .off. And I know she feels the same thing. I miss the smell of her hair, the touch of her velvety skin and the way she laughs loudly.
"Alexander." Says a voice in my head. I sit up in my chair, my body on high alert. On the right Aren and Christian notice my weird behavior. Both their eyes and body go on high alert also, almost like were feeling and hearing the same thing.
"Dude. . .you, ok?" asked Christian.
"Yeah, you look paler than usual man." Aren's hand comes down on mine.
"I'm fine chill out." I tell the both of them. I close my eyes real tight and try to listen in on what they say. I've been thinking about her way too much, it's just my mind playing tricks on me. In a matter of minutes, the voice comes back.
"Alexander." The voice sounds familiar, like. . .Quinneth's. But she isn't in this room, house or nowhere on the Pack. Trust me I would know someone would have notified me. Her voice sounds faint. . .and shaky.
How is she talking to me in my head, I never taught her how to Channel? Neither did anyone else. I try to focus in on her, to see if she says anything else. I clear my head, forcing out all my thoughts and the voices around me to a screeching halt. Nothing else matters but her, she must be in trouble or scared out of her mind.
"Alexander. . .I'm trapped in Oslow, I need you to come and save me and Katana. Sasha has us trapped here." She says to me. My eyes start to widen in fear, Sasha, the red wolf, has my girl. Oh, when I get ahold of her, I'm going to wring her neck.
Forget staying at home trying to wait until Sasha comes to us, I say we go to her. If that's what she wants that is what she will get. From her talking to me,,I can feel her. She's nervous and scared. Her body is freezing, shivers run throughout her body. I have to save her. . .I need to save her.
Towards the door I hear two people walk in, they smell of humans. I don't even pay any attention to them, only focusing on what I can do. I could hear them talking to my father, but I paid them no mind.
In that moment, I knew what I needed to do. Go and find her myself. Rising up out of my chair everyone focuses their attention on me.
I only say a few words before I walk out the room, "Quinneth, she's in trouble."
I start charging down the hallway, many voices and feet follow me quickly down the hall. I'm on a mission and that is to save Quinneth at all cost. I knew that she would do the same thing for me.
Opening the glass door, I start to take my clothes off ready to shift.
"Where are you going? It's late." Looking towards the willow tree, I see Zeta Titan. A cigarette hangs out of her mouth. Pink lipstick stains the stick.
"Danger. I have to go get Quinneth." She takes out her cigarette and puts it out with her foot.
"Quinneth? She's at Club Ten why would she need help there."
"No, she's in some prison being held by Sasha." I stop what I'm doing and give her a speculating look. "Wait? She went to Club Ten, how do you know that?" From what I know Zeta has never met Quinneth.
"I was there last night with Will. We had a conversation about you. She's really cute I see why you like her." I would further this conversation, but I really need to go.
Before I try and leave again my father and the others come outside. "Son, you can't go and find Quinneth yourself you'll die before you get in." The wind carries his voice over to me.
"What do you want me to do? Sit and wait until Sasha decides to be nice and give Quinneth back?" Behind him stands Vet. "Vet, they have Katana too." His eyes widen.
"Alexander, come inside. We'll make a plan and then go."
"No- I don't want t-"
"Alex, son, your father is right. I want to save Katana just as much as you want to save Quinneth. We can't just walk in there with no plan. Let's plan." I work this over in my head, even not being in my right mind I know their right.
"Fine, let's plan."
