The spirit guardians and the queen were gathered in the throne room for an urgent meeting.
“Sarado, Smurik, I wanted to ask how training went with the last minute addition from the black bulls.” Gaja asked, his arms crossed over his chest.
“She is one with her gale. A tempest of grace.” Smurik said dramatically.
Sarado chuckled at his response “Yeah, she's very intune with the Earth. She really knows how to WAP, BAM, BOOM. Ya’ know?”
“Yes, well, I wanted to ask if you also experienced the feeling of her magic. Does it feel familiar?” Gaja asked.
“Not only does her magic feel familiar, I sense she is hiding her true power. Do you think her clock is masking her true mana potential?” The queen added in.
“Yes, her magic did have a familiar gust to it.” Smurik said.
“Don't ya think it's similar to the deity of the strong magic region? The one who helped us grow?” Sarado asked.
“Elowen? Hmm, you are right. Her magic is similar. Do you think Mystic is like her? A Dryad?” Undine asked from behind the queen.
Gaja looked towards the undine “No. She's not a dryad, but there's definitely something different. We need to speak with her. It might be a good idea to invite Elowen as well.”
“I can send the pigeon with a message.” The queen stated.
“Very well. Let's continue the training today. When Elowen arrives we can have a talk with Mystic about her magic. If she is another arcane stage mage, then she could be helpful in the fight against spade.” Gaja concluded the meeting and they were dismissed to continue training the clover kingdom mages.
It was a breathtaking site. The view of the valley from the top of the mountain was beyond what Venus had expected. She looked out at the world below her, feeling the wind flow through her hair, she felt amazing.
“Blaine, it's so beautiful,” she said, turning to the man.
“I knew you would love it, Ve. I think I'll paint it for you one day. Today I just wanted to experience it with you.” he replied.
“Oh Blaine, that would be lovely. This was definitely an experience to remember.” she softly smiled, “I love you so much.”
He smiled back as he stepped closer to her, placing a delicate kiss on her lips before resting his forehead against hers. “I love you too. More than you could ever know. I can't believe it's been a year since you said you'd me mine.”
“It has been the best year of my life. I couldn't imagine a future with anyone else. I'll love you till the end of time.”
Blaine chuckled “Time is a funny guy.”
“What do you mean?” She leaned back and looked at him a little confused.
Blaine had a sudden strange look on his face, “Oh um, I just mean time is a funny thing. This year went by so fast yet I feel like I've known you my whole life.”
She smiled “I feel the same way. I think that's just even more proof that we are soulmates.”
Blaine hugged her tighter, “I never thought I'd be someone to have a soulmate until I met you.”
They held each other for a while before it was time to leave. As they began the journey back down the mountain, the path became steeper and more treacherous. Venus stepped onto a loose rock, it gave way beneath her. She lost her balance and tumbled down the steep slope.
“BLAINE!” her scream echoing through the mountains.
She reached her hand up towards Blaine who had tried to catch her. As she fell she saw him getting smaller. His face was terrified. His eyes glowing red, the only thing she could see just before everything went black.
She felt the world around her change. It started getting cold, a damp mist tickled her skin.
“Where am I? What happened?” she thought to herself.
A strange presence molded around her. She felt as though someone else was there, but it didn't feel like Blaine. It felt cold, sad, and lonely. Was it Death?
“Hello? Is someone there?” She whispered, even though she couldn't see anything.
“I'm sorry Venus. You can't go, not yet.” she heard a voice say before she began to feel a warm light engulf her. For a moment, she saw a shadow of a cloaked figure. The feeling of the damp mist faded away. She could feel arms around her, drops of warm tears hitting her face.
Venus looked around, disoriented and confused. She had no memory of what had happened, no recollection of seeing death. All she knew was that she was alive, and Blaine was there, holding her, his face hidden in the shadows.
“Blaine?” she whispered, her voice weak.
He pulled her close, relief flooding through him. “I’m so sorry! I’m here now, my love. You’re safe.”
Rena had been staring at the ceiling for half an hour after waking up. Her face was sticky with tears that had dried.
“That… What.. was that? That was so sad. Did she die? She felt Death, was that Bob? It didn’t sound like him though.” she pondered.
There was a knock at her door. “Mystic? It's time for breakfast!” she heard a voice call through the door.
“I'll be right there!” she called back as she moved to get off her bed.
As she got ready for the day, her thoughts still lingered on that dream. The dreams are happening more frequently. Does it mean something? Who is this couple and why am I seeing their life story?
“Mystic? Are you alright?” A soft voice broke her out of her daze. Rena didn't even realize she had made it down to the dining room and was sitting at the table with everyone. She turned to the voice that spoke up and met with a concerned gaze from Mimosa.
“Oh I'm fine. Just didn’t get a lot of sleep. I had a strange dream.” Rena replied.
“Alright, if you say so. If you're not feeling well I'm sure they would let you take a break from training.” she smiled softly.
“I'll be alright, but speaking of training, where are the spirit guardians?” Rena asked.
“They are having a meeting with Queen Loropechika this morning. I believe they are discussing our progress so far.” Lady Charlotte chimed in.
“Our progress? We've only been here for 2 days. Could we really have made that much progress?” Noelle rolled her eyes.
“Every little bit counts. Progress is a journey, you can't just jump to the end.” Mystic smiled, surprising the group.
Just then the guardians entered the room, greeting everyone. Each group went their separate ways. Rena was to join Asta and Gaja today.
“Come on Mystic! Let’s go!” Asta cheered.
The training with Gaja was intense to say the least. Asta was training with his swords trying as hard as he could to land a hit on Gaja. He would effortlessly dodge Astas attacks.
Those swords really are amazing, though they look like they are 500 years old. Rena thought as she watched Asta use one of the smaller swords to pull the magic from his body.
“It’s fortunate that I opted to hold back. If I didn’t you’d be in far worse shape.” Gaja said to Asta as he was on the ground catching his breath.
HE WAS HOLDING BACK?! Well now I see why he is the leader of the guardians here.
It was just about time for Rena to switch spots with Asta but as they were about to start the queen summoned them back to the throne room.
“I wonder what the queen could want with us in the middle of training?” Asta questioned.
Mystic, Gaja, and Asta arrived at the throne room where Queen Loropechika , Undine, Noelle, and Nero were training.
“Thank you for coming so quickly. There is an urgent matter we would like to discuss with you Miss Mystic, regarding your magic.” the queen said in a serious tone.
Oh no, this can't be good.
