"Lucy! Mystic! I found a job for us! Let's go!" Natsu came running over to the girls who were enjoying some morning breakfast in the guild hall.
"What's the Job Natsu?" Lucy asked.
"Some client needs a special kind of ice. Come on let's go!" Natsu said grinning ear to ear, Lucy took the paper from him looking it over.
"Yea, this looks simple enough. Easy money, I can pay my rent!" Lucy says excitedly! "You up for it Mystic?"
"Yea of course! I'd love an adventure" She smiles back.

The group was now on the mountain of Mt. Hakobe, their mission was to get a piece of the infamous Hakobe Ice. It was a magical item that was said to have many magical characteristics. Trudging up the mountain Happy and Natsu decided to have a snowball fight.
Lucy lets out a sigh before she is slammed in the face with a snowball.
"CUT IT OUT!" she yells "WHERE ON A JOB YOU IDIOTS!"
Mystic snickers at their playfulness and bantering before they suddenly realize they are on a snowy mountain. A sudden avalanche pins Natsu and Happy in a large snowball, allowing Lucy to give them a scolding. They continue on through a blizzard before they fall down the mountain and into a hole. Happy tries to fly them out but the wind is too strong. The group tredged on finding a cave, and looking to take some shelter for a while they went into the cavern.
Natsu decided to lead the group to explore the cave but things started to shift and the group had to make a run for it. Suddenly they fall through the floor, losing themselves even deeper in the cave. 3 days later they were still lost in the cave. Cold, hungry, and tired Mystic was starting to reconsider the mess she got herself into.
Natsu was trying to keep them warm with his fire but after days without food or sleep, he was struggling to keep the fire going. Mystic was thinking she should train her fire element next. The group started to hallucinate and Natsu started swinging his fists hitting the wall. Ice started crashing down bringing the group to their sense. Finally, they saw an opening to the outside and attempted to escape the cave, except it was blocked by a wall of ice.
"FIRE DRAGON TALON" Natsu tried to break the wall but there wasn't even a scratch. "FIRE DRAGON CRUSHING FANG!" but still no damage.
Lucy realized the wall in front of them was the Ice they were looking for. She used the special magic pen from the client to cut a circle out of the ice. Suddenly a monster appeared knocking down ice all around them. The group managed to squeeze through the hole in the ice and race outside, only to be followed by the monster.
They jump on a log using it as a sled to rush down the mountain trying to fight the monster off. Remembering that the ice holds special powers Lucy gives it to Natsu to eat and he gains a boost of energy and frys the monster. The group finally free was about to head back to the guild before they realized they didn't have the ice to complete the job. They'd need to go back into the cave to get some more.

After a rough few days on the Job, the group decided to take it easy. Lucy, Happy, and Natsu decide to train with Mirajane on some transformation magic. Mystic decided to use this time to train one of her other elements. She had originally wanted to train her fire element next and had considered asking Natsu for help but she figured that might not be the best idea considering his carefree attitude. So she decided to train her air element, and she was going to see if the Sky Dragon Slayer Wendy might lend her some advice.
"Hey, Wendy! Could I ask you for a favor?" Mystic strolled up to the young maiden in the guild hall.
"Oh hey Mystic, what do you need?" she replied with the sweetest smile.
Can this girl be any cuter~. And her cat Carla too. They are simply adorable. I want to take them home with me.
"Well you see, I am training to master the elements. So far I have mastered water so I'm needing to start training another element, Air. I was wondering if you could give me some pointers based on your magic. I know dragon slayer magic is a lot different from my type of magic but in some ways, they hold similarities at their cores." Mystic explained, hoping this gamble would pay off.
"Hmm well, I'm not too sure if I could be of any help.. But we can try! I need to do some training anyway so I can be strong enough to support the guild." She said cheerfully. Soo adorable~~.
Mystic, Wendy, and Carla headed outside of town where they could do some training without causing too much damage. The fairy Tail guild, Mystic had learned, was very prone to leaving destruction everywhere they went. The magic council was not exactly pleased with them.
They spent the entire afternoon sparing back and forth. Wendy was able to give Mystic a few pointers on how to flow the air magic through her. It took a few tries but Mystic was finally starting to get the hang of her air element. She began to feel herself growing even more powerful and was feeling overjoyed at her progress.
Soon the sun started to set and the girls decided they were too sweaty to continue so they made their way back to the girl's dorms to shower and get ready for dinner. After cleaning up Mystic made her way back to the guild hall to get something to eat. Erza waved her over to the table where Natsu, Lucy, Happy, Wendy, Carla, and Gray were all sitting.
"Mystic! Come sit with us!" Erza shouted across the guild hall. Mystic smiled and crossed over to join them. She had only been here a few days but already she felt so welcome here. Everyone was so friendly and welcomed her with open arms. It felt like a home away from home.
Mystic sat down and started eating when that warm feeling brought a question to her mind.
"You all seem super close, yet you welcomed me as if I was a long-lost friend. I was curious as to what makes all of you so cheerful." Mystic asked.
"It's simple, we're one big family!" Natsu said over cheerfully.
"He's right. We may all come from different backgrounds, but the bond we share as members of Fairy Tail has made us strong. There's nothing we wouldn't do for each other. Master sees and calls us his children. He took all of us in when we were lost and broken kids, giving us a place we can call home." Erza said smiling, a kind and soft smile that said everything without words.
Mystic sat there soaking in what she just heard. Lost and broken kids, brought together, to a place they can call home. It made her feel so warm. She didn't notice the single tear slipping down her cheek.
"Oh my gosh, Mystic! Are you ok?" Wendy asked, jolting up with both hands on the table.
"Yes, I'm ok. Why do you ask?"
"You're crying!" She whisper-yelled.
Reaching up to touch her cheek and dry the tears, pulling her hand back to look at it surprised. "Oh.. it seems I am. I'm sorry." She said with a soft tone. The group was surprised to hear the softness in her voice. While Mystic had not been super chatty with everyone, she still held a rather positive and happy demeanor. For a moment they could see past her front and the sadness she was trying to hide behind her smile.
Ezra reached over, placing her hand on Mystic's back. "It's alright Mystic. Fairy Tail brings those lost together. You may have your specific reasons for coming here but I believe you were meant to come here. We all have our pasts, you don't need to tell us anything but just know that if you need a home there is no better place than here."
Mystic looked up at everyone and couldn't stop from spilling a sliver of her heart. She managed without letting the floodgates loose. "Thank you. I supposed.. I have been looking for a place that feels like home and a family. I've...been alone for a while. The places I've been have never really felt like home and I don't have much family, even the family I did have was hardly ever there. This... is a welcome change of pace so thank you." She smiled softly, standing up to head back to the dorm.
"Hey Mystic," Lucy called softly.
"Yes?"
"Why don't you come over to my apartment? We can have a girl's night. There is something I wanted to ask you about anyway." Lucy smiled, not wanting her new friend to be alone to sulk in the sadness rising up in her heart.
"Sure, that sounds lovely. Thank you." She smiled back.
