On an uninhabited island on an unknown world, a man and his companion were walking through the dense, humid jungle. The man was tall with raven hair and tanned skin, his muscles rippling under the tattoos that adorned his hands, arms, and chest. He gripped a sword that was just as long as he was tall, resting it casually on his shoulder. Atop his head, he sported a white hat covered in black spots, giving him a distinctive and somewhat menacing appearance. His companion was even taller than he was, covered in white fluffy fur, and wore an orange jumpsuit that contrasted sharply with the surrounding greenery.
A dark aura surrounded the two as they stumbled along, the oppressive heat and humidity making each step feel like a struggle. Neither said a word, their silence only broken by the occasional rustle of leaves or the distant call of an unseen creature. Suddenly, the sky turned a dark purple, and a strange, swirling circle seemed to open up in the sky. The two looked up, confusion plastered across their faces. They had seen many strange things in their world, but nothing like this. The man squinted as he saw something falling from the sky. The object came closer and closer, soon meeting the ground with a dull thud in front of them. The man bent down and picked up the object, noticing that it was a bag of some sort.
“What the hell?” the man muttered, examining the bag in his hand. It was made of a material he had never seen before, and it felt oddly warm to the touch.
“Captain, is that a bag? Why did it just fall from the sky? Also, what is wrong with the sky? It doesn’t look right,” his fluffy companion asked nervously, glancing up at the swirling vortex above them.
“Captain! Something else is falling! Wait… It looks like a person! I’m sorry!” the companion exclaimed, his voice tinged with panic.
The man looked up, holding the bag in one hand and raised his other hand level to the ground. He spoke two words, his voice calm and commanding.
~POV change~
Rena was falling, the wind whipping past her as she looked up at the portal she had just fallen through. The battle with Ryker had taken a horrible turn. She had let herself get distracted only for a moment, but a moment nonetheless that allowed him to stab her in the stomach. A big mishap on her part that she was about to pay greatly for. He had opened a portal, going on about how it was to a place she wouldn’t be able to get back from, sliced her bag off her shoulder so it fell into the portal first, stabbed her, then pushed her down to fall into the portal herself.
How long have I been falling? My stomach hurts. Oh… right… I was stabbed… and the blade is still here. Did he say the blade was laced with poison? I think he also said it would kill me in five minutes. Lovely. Just lovely. How do you plan on surviving this one, Rena?
~30 seconds~
“Rena! Something’s not right!” Versa stated frantically, her voice echoing in Rena’s mind.
“No shit, V. I GOT STABBED!” Rena yelled out loud, not even bothering to speak to Versa directly in her mind.
“No, Rena… I think the poison… it’s affecting me somehow. Badly. Like my power is being stripped away. I’m… not… able… to…”
“Not able to what?!”
She didn’t answer.
“V?!.. Versa?!”
Great… it’s getting harder to keep my eyes open. This isn’t good.
~1 minute~
Suddenly, everything around her turned a shade of… blue?
“What the…”
Rena’s thoughts were cut off when she heard someone say…
“Соба. Шамблови.”
Suddenly, she was in a man’s arms. It was hard for her to see his face because he was wearing a hat. There was also a larger man… or creature standing behind him. Rena’s vision was getting blurry. She had lost a lot of blood, and the poison was quickly spreading through her body. She looked up to the sky as the portal suddenly closed and the sky turned back to a bright blue. She turned to face the man who was suddenly holding her.
~1 minute 30 seconds~
“Would… it be… too much… to ask… for help?” She struggled to get the words out.
“Што се случи? Кој си ти?”
“Shit… I can’t understand… my translator…” Rena pointed to the bag that had landed on the ground next to the group… again.
The other man picked it up and handed it to her. She quickly dug through it with as much energy as she could muster and pulled out her device. With her thumb, she unlocked it and opened the translator. The device let out a pulse, letting Rena know it had activated.
She looked at the man holding her again and mustered out two words, pointing at the blade in her abdomen, before she blacked out. “Help… poisoned.”
~2 minutes 30 seconds~
The man was shocked he could suddenly understand her this time, realizing that it must have been that device she pulled out of her bag.
A smirk etched on his face. “Interesting.”
“Captain, she doesn’t look good. And there’s a knife still in her stomach!”
“Yes, I can see that, Bepo.”
“I’m sorry!”
“Poisoned? Did she mean the blade is poisoned?”
The man set Rena down on the ground softly so he could examine her.
“Room. Scan.”
~3 minutes 30 seconds~
The man scanned Rena, learning all he could about her condition. Sure enough, he could see poison running through her veins. He also noticed something odd about the girl that he would have to ask her about when she woke up.
“I can remove the poison, but we need to find somewhere we can patch her up. Bepo, go look and see if you can find somewhere we can go. Unfortunately, we don’t exactly have our sub at our disposal right now.”
~4 minutes~
“Aye, Captain!” Bepo saluted and ran off to see what he could find.
The captain looked at this mysterious girl. So many questions began to run through his mind. He kneeled down and examined the blade that was still lodged inside her abdomen. He grabbed the cape he had over his shoulders and ripped a long piece of it off. Lifting her torso up slightly, he slid the fabric underneath her. He then quickly pulled the blade out and tied the fabric around the wound. He then activated his room and unsheathed his sword to remove the poison from her system. Quickly, he pulled all of it out, floated it in a ball, and then tossed it to the side.
~4 minutes 55 seconds~
“You seem to be a very interesting woman,” he said with a smirk.
“Captain! Captain! I found a ship at the beach!” Bepo yelled, trying to catch his breath.
“A ship? What kind of ship?” the captain sternly asked, hoping it wasn’t an enemy ship.
“It’s the Straw Hats’ ship.”
“Straw Hat-ya…? Great. Guess it will have to do.” The captain frowned. At least it wasn’t a marine ship.
The captain ordered Bepo to pick up the girl, and the trio headed towards the beach.
