Four months. Damn, this is bad. How could I forget the obvious time dilation? Rena mentally kicked herself for overlooking the most basic element of traveling between worlds. The language barrier was one thing, but each world had its own rules of time. Some worlds moved faster than others, so obviously, one day here was completely different from one day back home.
“RENA!? Are you there?! Hello?? Ugh, never mind. I’ve FINALLY picked up your signal. I’m pulling you back now!” Rena was jolted out of her trance as she heard Sy’s voice, signaling her imminent teleportation.
“WAIT! SY! MAKE SURE YOU CHANGE THE—radius….” Rena trailed off, too late. Sy had already teleported Rena back to the base, along with some pirates.
“Damnit, Sy! You teleported them with me! You couldn’t wai–” Rena was cut off as Sy tackled her to the ground. Rena winced as she landed on her rear, Sy pressing against her wound.
“NO! I COULDN’T WAIT ANYMORE!” Sy’s voice was muffled against Rena’s chest. She looked up at Rena, who was leaning back on her arms. “Do you have any idea how worried I was?! The last thing I heard was that dickhead Ryker saying you’d die in five minutes from the poison! Then the screen went black, and you disappeared through the portal!” Tears streamed down Sy’s face. Rena was taken aback; she had never seen Sy this distraught before. She started petting Sy’s head, trying to comfort her.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay. I’m okay. These guys saved me,” Rena said softly, her voice soothing.
Sy glanced back at the group of pirates standing there, dumbfounded, finally realizing she had teleported more than just Rena. “Oh… OH! OH MY GOD, I’M SO SORRY! I didn’t realize she was around anyone. I didn’t mean to teleport everyone.” She stuttered as she quickly stood up, leaving Rena on the floor. She turned to go back to her computer to send everyone back, not offering to help her injured friend off the ground. Only two people in the room noticed and found that behavior strange.
Law walked over and extended his hand to help Rena up. He found it odd that the woman they had just met, who seemed so concerned for her friend, left her on the ground after tackling her there in the first place. He brushed it off quickly, thinking she was just embarrassed she had accidentally teleported more people than intended.
“I can teleport you all back!” Sy exclaimed, but before she could do anything, there were flashes of light as another group of individuals teleported in.
“Miss Sy, we regret to report we have no sign of Mys..tic… MYSTIC! YOU-YOU’RE ALRIGHT!” A woman with scarlet red hair exclaimed, her eyes wide with relief.
“Hey! It’s Mystic! She’s back! We’ve been looking for you everywhere!” A man with pink spiky hair said as he walked up to Rena and wrapped his arm around her shoulder, his grip firm yet comforting.
“MYSTIC! WE THOUGHT YOU DIED!” cried a little blue cat with wings as he flew towards her with his little paws stretched out, his eyes brimming with tears.
“Hey guys. What are you all doing here?” Rena asked, her voice tinged with surprise and warmth.
A blonde woman spoke up, “Sy called us panicking, saying you had been missing for a month.”
Then a man with jet black hair, who was suddenly missing a shirt, said, “Yeah, so we’ve been looking for you in our world for the past three months.”
“Gray! Your shirt!” the blonde nagged. “Oh shit, sorry!” he said as he put his shirt back on, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment.
A small girl with blue hair chimed in, “Sy told us you were injured! Are you okay?”
“Yes, I’m fine. I was lucky enough to find a doctor who helped me,” Rena said, tilting her head towards Law, who was standing behind her, grimacing at all the commotion that was sure to reopen Rena’s wound again. It was getting tedious and annoying tending to her wounds so much in a short time.
The group looked behind Rena, taking notice of the pirates standing there, who surprisingly had been extremely quiet, taking in everything that was happening.
“Oh! More friends! Hi! My name is Natsu Dragneel, and we’re from the Fairy Tail guild!” Natsu said cheerfully, waving his hand.
Luffy stepped up and introduced himself, “I’m Luffy, and I’m going to be King of the Pirates!”
“Whoa! You guys are pirates? I wanna be a pirate! Let’s be pirates, Happy!” Natsu said, turning towards the blue cat.
“Aye sir!” Happy replied, his wings fluttering with excitement.
Gray stepped up behind Natsu and chopped him on the head. “You can’t be a pirate, you idiot!”
“Ow! Gray, what the hell! And who says I can’t be a pirate?!” Natsu groaned at Gray.
“Because pirates travel on pirate ships. You’re a Dragon Slayer. You get motion sickness, dumbass flame brain!” Gray growled back.
“Shut up, Ice Princess! I can just have Wendy cast her Troia spell.”
“You can’t just take Wendy on a pirate ship!”
As the two argued, Nami giggled, thinking about how they reminded her of two certain pirates. “Pft! They are just like you two, Zoro and Sanji.”
“Huh?” Zoro “How’s that, Nami-swan?” Sanji
The two looked at each other after hearing the other reply, then proceeded to start their own quarrel. “What are you looking at, curly-brows?” Zoro snapped. “Looking at you, dumbass mosshead,” Sanji retorted.
SMACK SMACK Both groups were smacked on the back of the heads by their respective females, Nami and Erza. “Knock it off!” they both said at the same time.
Rena suddenly burst into laughter, turning everyone’s attention to her. “You know…” she said, wiping a tear from her cheek from laughing so hard. “I had just been thinking that you guys,” she pointed to the Straw Hats, “reminded me of them,” pointing to the Fairy Tail members, “and how hilarious it’d be if you guys met.” cough Rena coughed into her hand. When she put it down, she saw blood.
“Rena? Are you okay? You’re looking kind of pale,” Sy asked her, concern etched on her face. Rena stumbled on her feet a little, suddenly feeling dizzy. Law held his sword towards Bepo, indicating for the bear to take it. He could see what was about to happen as he stepped forward.
“Rena!” Sy yelled as she fell backwards, Law catching her. “You!” Sy said towards the doctor, “Are you positive you removed all of the poison from her system?!”
Law just glared at the woman as he stood up with Rena in his arms. “Yes, I did. I’m not such a careless doctor that I would leave even a trace of poison in my patient,” he growled at the woman. “Now, is there somewhere I can take her to check on her condition?” Sy just stared up at him for a moment until the girl with blue hair stepped forward.
“Here, this way! The infirmary is over this way. I’ll come help you!” Wendy said nervously, leading Law into another room.
