I hated my life.
I was currently in health education, and today was the day where we played a game instead of being in the actual classroom.
Hooray for me.
We were playing dodgeball; a wonderful game...
Without a psychopathic seventeen-year-old that kept breaking in my house at night.
I glared forward, eyes hardening when I took in Sebastian's form.
He stood at the other side of the gym, smiling slyly at me like always.
I narrowed my eyes, and he only tipped his head to the side.
After spreading all the balls among the middle of the gym, Miss Jess just blew her whistle, signifying the start of the game.
Everyone in the groups just yelled out and started toward the middle of the gym, throwing balls at each other and getting out immediately, whereas me and Sebastian rested against the walls in what you would call a "staring contest."
He only smiled, making my anger falter.
Ugh... I hated his charm.
And by the time I blinked and looked away, everyone was sitting on the floor, staring at me and waiting for me to play.
"What?" I questioned.
"Get him you, you moron!" Neveah said, rolling her eyes.
I sighed, stepping forward as I picked up a ball.
"And remember," Miss Jess said, "catching does not count as an out, understand?"
"Yes, Miss Jess," Sebastian said, picking up a ball, as well. "That's plenty fine."
I glared at him, beckoning for him to continue.
"It's your turn, princess," he said, flipping up the ball and catching it.
Why did we have to be the last?
Seriously... all this contact with him was going to drive me insane.
"Ladies first," I said, nodding toward him.
"Ooooooooh," some kids said.
"Oh, grow up," Neveah commented. "What are you, seventh graders?"
Sebastian only smirked. "If you say so."
He suddenly drew back, aiming hard, and I narrowed my eyes.
But he shot out, throwing a curveball toward me, and I almost screamed, thinking fast and bending backwards like I was doing the limbo.
The ball flew past my face, and I gasped, shooting back up.
I stared, panting slightly.
Sebastian has his brows arched.
"Show off," I hissed.
He smiled. "I could say the same to you."
"Come on!" Neveah yelled as everyone watched us in curiosity. "Stop flirting and kill each other, kay?"
I just glared, swinging my arm back and put all force into the ball, slamming it forward seconds later.
Sebastian stared as the ball swung toward him, and he gazed up at me as it continued.
He wasn't going to dodge it? Haha, so predictable.
But he only smiled darkly, and I blinked when the dodgeball flew toward him, and his eyes glowed when his arm shot up last second, the ball flying straight into his hand.
I gasped as the sound echoed through the room, and he smiled up at me as he held onto it with one hand, tipping his head to the side.
Woah... did he just catch my curveball with one hand? What was he? a ninja?
I only took a step back, sweat sliding down my temples. "Show off."
"Oh, you want me to show off?" he asked me, and I nearly stilled.
He then shot the ball at me at light speed, and I yelped, knowing he aimed for my feet, so when his curveball came at me, I swung myself in the air, bending my knees as the ball flew past my feet.
I landed then, gazing up at him in warning.
He only smirked.
I just caught as many balls as I had and swung all of them in different directions, but purposely aimed toward him.
Hence our favorite throw, the curveball.
He dodged all off them, gasping lightly as he bent backwards, dodging ball number one, then hopped in the air, dodging number two, then crouched, three flying past above him, and then proceeded to jump again, number four missing him.
He landed then, a small couple strands of hair covering his face as he smiled over at me, panting.
All the kids sitting watched intently, clearly intrigued.
I blinked.
Woah.
What the hell was he?
"I mean... this is probably going to take a while, so should we reset?" Miss Jess asked the class.
"No!" one said. "I want to see who wins!"
Sebastian laughed then, staring over at me as he tossed a ball in the air. "I think we know who's winning."
I glared then.
Oh, he was asking for it.
I might've been interesting now, but I took gymnastics all my life.
He didn't know who he was playing with. I'd been dodging everything my whole life; whatever the bullies threw at me. I had experience, if I wanted to look cool, I'd just have to combine the two.
I smirked then. "Bring it on, wimp."
"Oooooh," the kids said again.
His eyes flashed in warning, and he smirked, tossing the ball up with his hand and swung his leg up, slamming the top of his foot against the ball, and it came launching at me faster than I could handle.
I only smiled, bending backwards as it flew past my face.
And when I leaned back up, there were already three coming at me.
I gasped then, working on instinct and swung backwards, doing a handspring, and two balls that came at me flew in between the split in my legs, and I landed, bending backwards as the last came flying past my face.
All the kids stared in shock, and I only flipped my hair off my face, smiling at him.
Sebastian smirked, and I just ran forward and caught two balls, tossing one in the air and did as he did, slammed my foot into the ball as it went launching toward him, and he started dodging it, and lastly I threw the second ball to the right, curved to hit his shoulder.
And for some reason, his head snapped to the second ball, eyes widening.
I swore I got him.
But I was wrong.
He just did some flip backwards, making my mouth part as he landed silently on his feet—like a cat—and the two balls I threw at him clashed together before launching opposite directions.
I stared, and so did all the kids.
But the bell rattled the classroom, and everyone remained shocked as we all stared at Sebastian.
After a moment, the teacher just cleared her throat and stared back up. "Alright, everyone! Go to your next classes!"
All the kids blinked and stood, stepping over to their backpacks in shock as some formed scattered conversations about what just happened.
I just tossed my hair off my face again, turning and making my way to my backpack.
When I caught my pack, I gazed up, finding him standing next to me.
I should get used to that by now.
He only tipped his head to the side. "Something wrong?"
"You're a showoff," I told him for the last time.
He smiled. "I could say the same about you, princess."
I only shoved him aside and stepped out of the gym, making my way to my next class.
