"You can wake up now," a voice echoed.
I gasped, lashes fluttering open as I took in my surroundings.
I was in a room of some sort... the walls covered in grime and dust, and I glanced down, finding myself in a chair.
I gazed up quickly, breath shuttering as my eyes locked on a figure leaning against a doorway.
"Good morning," North said darkly. "Sleep well?"
"Where did you take me?" I demanded, voice shaking, but I forced it to still.
He just chuckled.
I then tried to move my arms, but a rope dug into my skin, and I winced when I felt it tighten around my wrists.
"Can't escape it," North remarked, smirking as darkness covered me inside. "You can only escape when I want you to. It's a devil's whip. A perfect binding tool. When you try to escape, it tightens, at one point, it'll break your wrists in half."
I stopped then, the cold burrowing inside me, but I refused to let it take over. "What do you want?"
He tipped his head to the side. "I want to hurt you."
"Then why haven't you killed me yet?" I demanded.
His eyes flickered amusement. "I told you, I want you to hurt. Dying right now is too painless, and..." he gazed up, "I want Sebastian to watch."
I drew back in disgust, the panic consuming me, but I tried to ignore it. "Why are you doing this?"
"You know..." North said, looking lost, "Sebastian was hurting after our parents died."
"You do not have the same reason," I hissed, "you care about nothing."
"I care about power," he corrected, still smirking. "And... Sebastian was my one-way ticket to power, Skye. I gave him the plan to kill you, and my hope was that it would break your mother enough, so she'd step down, and I'd take over."
"You're better as a devil!" I yelled.
He just chuckled. "I am the devil, aren't I? I'm Lucifer's child, Skye. You cannot control Lucifer's child."
"You're a daem," I replied, attempting to hurt him, "you're one in a million children of the devil. You're small compared to him!"
He suddenly was in my face, and I drew back, sucking in a breath.
Too close.
I could feel his dark aura consume me.
"I wouldn't say such things if I were you," he said lowly, eyes glowing dangerously. "I could make you do things you don't want to do."
He drew his hand up, lightly running his finger along my jaw.
"Many things," he whispered.
I shot out and tried to bite him, but he drew back shaking his hand off while chuckling.
"Oh," he said, chuckling, "someone's feisty. No wonder Sebastian likes you."
I glared. "Don't touch me."
He smiled darkly. "Or what?"
My glare sharpened. "Or I will do things you won't like."
He tipped his head to the side, running his finger along my jaw again. "I'm curious."
I tried to bite him again, and he drew back before I could, chuckling.
"You seem scared out of your mind," he said, tipping his head to the side, "and yet you still have the personality of a spit-fire."
"I will kill you," I hissed.
He chuckled. "I'd like to see you try."
And he leaned down, pressing his lips to mine.
My stomach revolted.
What the hell was he doing?
I drew back in shock, eyes widening as a nausea swelled up my throat, and I tried drawing back, but he just fisted my hair in his hand and shoved me back to him.
I glared and pushed myself higher, and then I did something I'd never done.
I sliced my teeth into his bottom lip.
"Ah!" he exclaimed, stumbling back a couple steps.
He then looked back over at me, blood blooming along his skin and trickling down his chin.
He then glared; all signs of amusement gone. "You bitch."
He shoved me back, and I cried out, the chair knocking over, and I cracked against the floor.
And I parted my lashes when the devil's whip withered against my hands, clearly struggling from the impact with the ground.
And slowly, I slipped my hands out from it.
I gazed back up when North hovered over me, wincing when his blood dripped onto the side of my cheek.
North just shoved the chair back up, and I whimpered a little as the arm that hit the floor first grew stiff and sore.
He just chuckled darkly, tipping his head to the side as he dipped down.
I stiffened when his tongue slid along my cheek, picking up the blood that recently dropped there.
I cringed, every part of me constricting as I felt his snake-like tongue glide among my skin.
But I just parted my lashes when he stood back up, regarding me with those devil-like eyes. "Why are you so disgusted, Skye? I look the same as Sebastian, do I not?"
I glared at him. "You're nothing like him. You're... disgusting."
He just chuckled. "And yet you cannot resist me, can you?" He glanced down. "Let's look at this situation, Skye. You look like you have it under control, but in reality, you're the one who's tied up, aren't you?"
"No," I said then, glaring.
His lashes fluttered open then.
I just shoved myself up and slammed my fist into his gut.
He choked, drawing forward around my fist.
As he toppled over, I darted straight for the staircase.
