Skye
"Jesus..." a guy said in the hallway as I got my stuff from my locker. "This is utter chaos. Two tests today? Are you serious?"
I rolled my eyes as I caught all my books and notebooks, shutting my locker seconds later.
Welcome to my world. I have four, asshole.
"Dude, that sucks," his friend said. "I only have one, and that's scaring me!"
I just sighed and shook my head, about to start walking, but hurried curses echoed through the walls, and I stilled when I heard someone tumble down the hall.
I gazed around in a hurry, but there was nowhere I could go, so I sank into the lockers, hoping they wouldn't run into me.
But they did, of course.
Her shoulder slammed against mine, and I cried out, all my books slipping from my grip as I caught the wall, and I watched as they scattered all over the floor.
I gazed up, glaring.
The girl only spun around, waving to me in apology. "Sorry! I would help but I'm going to be late!"
And she continued down the hall.
I sighed, rolling my eyes as I dropped to the ground, pushing my books to one pile.
Every time.
But—all the sudden—a sound came from next to me; a chuckle, and a deep voice, "Need help?"
I gazed up, blinking when a tall man with short, black locks and dark, grey eyes dropped to his knees and started helping me gather my books.
I started piling them as he did the same, and I gazed up as he sat on his knees, finishing with the last book.
"Hey..." I said, narrowing my eyes as he gazed up at me, "I know you. You're in my heath class."
The boy just smiled, though his eyes were a little dark for comfort. "I am."
"You're..." I said, "Sebastian, right?"
He smirked and nodded. "And you must be Skye."
I laughed softly. "Yeah."
He pushed my books, so they were stacked better. "You gotta be careful, Kiki, okay?"
"Oka—" I broke off, pausing. "Wait...."
He gazed up, brows arching.
"What...?" I said, looking at him fully. "What did you just call me?"
He smiled then, and I almost winced at the amusement in his gaze. "I called you, Kiki. It sounds heavenly. You like heavenly things, don't you?"
I stilled then, staring at him in horror.
His smile only titled. "What's wrong?"
I continued staring, trying to comprehend what was happening.
He called me... Kiki.
Only the man in my dreams called me that. And... I'd never told anyone about it.
I just watched him. "Who are you?"
He chuckled. "Is that supposed to be a question?"
"Yes," I replied, suddenly feeling very uneasy, "who are you? Answer."
He watched me in amusement. "I'm Sebastian."
"Why do you call me, Kiki?" I questioned, eyes narrowing as my heart pounded against my chest.
"Why can't I?" he countered, standing fully. "Well, you should get up, Skye. You're going to be late, aren't you?"
I watched him carefully.
No... no.
This wasn't possible.
I must've talked about my dreams at some point, and he listened. He was clearly trying to confuse me or to make fun of me.
I only continued staring at him as he remained standing above me.
"Be careful next time, Kiki," Sebastian said, smirking, "I'm charming, but I'm dangerous."
I froze.
He just winked and walked off, leaving me stranded in the hall.
What...?
What?
What was happening? That was a dream! How could he have known...?
"Sebastian," I said, staring at him as he walked off, "Sebastian!"
He only turned toward me with that stupid smile on his face. "See you in health ed."
And he disappeared into the classroom I was currently supposed to be in.
I watched the room, everything I knew tumbling around me, and so I stood up, stumbling slightly as I ran to my classroom.
*****
I breathed shallowly, staring at my teacher as she uttered nonsense to the class, and I remained frozen in my seat, knowing Sebastian was behind me.
"Alright," Miss Jess said, gesturing to the class. "Two-minute break, have fun."
Everyone started pulling their phones out as a response, and I remained in my seat, staring off into space and wondering what plain of existence I was on.
But I suddenly heard footsteps, and I gazed up quickly to find Sebastian stepping over to me.
I stared as he pulled out the empty seat next to me and sighed, settling down.
It was where my best friend was supposed to sit, but she wasn't here today.
He then set his elbow on the desk and rested his cheek on his hand, smiling over at me. "You called?"
I blinked. "I did?"
He just smiled. "In the hallway, you were calling me."
I just watched him carefully. "Your reaction time sucks."
He only kept his position.
I sighed then, shaking my head.
"You're stiff," he noted, eyes raking me. "Is something wrong?"
I glanced over at him. "How do you know about my dreams?"
His brows arched. "Dreams?"
I nodded. "You call me Kiki. No one has ever called me that. Did you hear me talking about it or something?"
He only smiled. "Oh, no. Nah. You never talk about it."
I stared. "How do you know then?"
He chuckled. "That's... classified."
I rolled my eyes, annoyed. "You heard me talk about it. That's the only explanation."
"You're talking to yourself," he replied, yawning. "You seem nervous."
I glanced over at him. "And you're giving off creepy vibes. Care to back down a bit?"
"My whole existence is creepy," he told me, chuckling. "It's sad that you're only picking up on that now."
I only shook my head. "I haven't really focused on you until now."
"Ouch..." he said, splaying his hand across his chest, "hurtful."
I rolled my eyes. "You'll heal."
He only remained in place.
"Well..." Miss Jess said, "class ends in a minute, so... pack up."
The room suddenly filled with bags ruffling and zipping, and the room grew with chatter as I did the same.
Sebastian just yawned, stretching out his arms as he stood and slung his bag he brought with him over his shoulder.
I tried to avoid eye-contact... because this was creeping me out.
"About those dreams..." he said then, and I glanced up at him. He only smiled. "Who ever said... they weren't real?"
I froze, and the bell rattled the classroom.
Chatter rose, and he just left me there, making me breath shallowly.
What...?
It was a dream.
It was a dream.
Why was he hinting that it actually happened?
No, it couldn't have... It shouldn't.
I just stared off, trying to breathe.
This was... unsettling.120Please respect copyright.PENANApftkWDYsJy
