"So did you want to watch The Book Thief or Ender's Game? Or we could watch both. Which do you want to watch first?"
"I thought you had called me because you needed to talk about something."
"I—uh, I want to watch a movie instead. It's easier."
"Avoiding the issue often worsens it."

"…Look, I just really miss Kenny, all right? Some days, I feel like it'll be all right and I can live the rest of my life with only memories of him, but days—or nights, I suppose—like this make it impossible to even breathe without him by my side."
"I understand how you feel."
"And what hurts even more is that if it weren't for me, he would probably still be alive. He died in that earthquake trying to make sure I was okay, Leo, because it had triggered a panic attack. Kenny died trying to save me."

"He died to save me when he had so much to live for. I can't seem to find it in me to get rid of anything of his in this apartment, but everything is just a reminder of how he's gone."
"Ken is dead, Erunai."
"I know that! You think I don't know that, Leo?"
"However, you are not, and you need to act accordingly."
"…What?"
"You said at the memorial service that Ken lives on in the hearts and memory of people. Perhaps he also lives through the loved ones he left behind. Erunai, your life cannot end just because his did."
"…That's hardly fair, Leo."
"Fairness was never guaranteed."

"I am not saying that you need to get over him. You just need to learn, eventually, to be able to remember him without breaking down."
"…I'm sorry, Leo. It's just been rough."
"I understand, Erunai. I just thought that you needed to hear that. The healing process sometimes hurts as bad as the wound."
"I suppose. We can watch a movie now, yeah?"

"Which one do you want to watch?"
"You may pick."
"The Book Thief it is! We'll watch Ender's Game after. Have you seen either of these movies?"
"No, I have not. I have read the books, however."
"That's good enough, I suppose. Wasn't Rudy Steiner just the most adorable thing?"
