{Cameron}
Tyler had finally passed out, which meant I was finally able to properly cry. Even though I knew he was right about us not having a very developed relationship, it still hurt a lot. Probably because of how much I was in love with him.
I didn’t get too long to dwell on it, before I heard something shuffle around behind the dumpster. I quietly unzipped Tyler’s bag, and pulled out the knife, that for whatever reason, he had decided to bring to school everyday for the last couple years. Without taking a look, I swung the knife behind the dumpster,
“Pringles!” A high pitched voice cried out. I peeked over the dumpster, only to find something that made my heart break,
I had just killed a kids dog…
I shook my head, and took slow steps backward, before spinning on my heel, and running as far away as I could possibly manage.
“Who are you?” A boy with stunning bright blue eyes, and light brown hair asked.
“C-Cameron.”
“And what are you doing here?” A girl with short blonde hair, and dull green eyes came from behind me, put me in a headlock, and held a gun to my head,
“Geez, Rebecca, you don’t even know if he’s dangerous yet.” The boy rolled his eyes,
“I’m not taking chances, Amiable.” She argued,
“Oh come on, loosen up a bit.”
“Fine.” She let go of me, and put the gun back in her pocket, before turning to glare at me, “Now answer my question,”
“Okay, okay. I was running and-”
“From what?”
“A boy.”
“Why?”
“I accidentally killed his dog…” I bit my lip,
“How the fuck do you accidentally kill a dog?” Rebecca asked,
“I didn't look before I stabbed.”
“You must be new to the streets then, huh?” Amiable inquired, scanning my face,
“Y-Yeah.”
“Cool, I'm Ami, as you know. I'm also non-binary, so uh, they pronouns would be great, thanks.” They smiled sheepishly, while I mentally smacked myself several times for misgendering them,
“I'm going back out to scrounge for food.” Rebecca glared at me, and I shrunk slightly, “If you get killed, Ami, it isn't my fault.”
“Trust me, I’m stronger than that!” Ami shouted after her,
“Sure you are.”
“Don't mind her. She's rude when she first meets people… for whatever reason.” They shrugged, “So, what ended up putting you out here?”
“Basically… Someone is out to kill me.”
“Oh, perfect.” Ami laughed, which made me smile a bit, “My parents ended up kicking me out, because they're close minded assholes. Rebecca decided to stay with me, which I'm really grateful for.”
“That seems way too nice. Are you sure that happened?”
“Yeah, I'm pretty sure… Do you have any place to stay?”
“No, not really. My friend is pissed with me, and I know he'll be more pissed when he finds out I killed a fucking dog.” I told them, trying to ignore the tremendous guilt lurking inside,
“Well, I guess the both of us are in luck today, because I need a little bit of help around here, and since we're stationed in an abandoned bar, I think you'd benefit with a roof over your head.”
“And wh-what's your business?”
“Nothing bad, just illegal weapon trade.” Ami shrugged, a smirk playing on their face.
