{Cameron}
As Preston put a foot inside the camp, he used his arm to hold Tyler back. After a second of confusion, Tyler scanned the scene, and frowned as he realized what had happened.
“Is everything okay…?” Preston asked, making me scoff,
“No, it’s fucking not.” I felt a coldness slip into my tone, “Do you not see her damned corpse?”
“How-” Tyler whispered something to cut him off, before Preston nodded, and went over to Ami, who was sobbing, to comfort them.
“Don't bother moping, because you did this. You could've saved her several different times, but I guess you're too stupid.” It whispered to me, making me glare up at Tyler, who was frowning down on me.
“You good?”
“What kinda fuckin’ question is that?” I asked, and he sighed, attempting to hide the hurt in his eyes,
“Yeah, you've got a point. Do you wanna talk about it?”
“No, I don't want to…”
“Are you sur-”
“Dude, shut the fuck up. I don't have the energy for your stupid fucking deep bullshit right now, okay?” He opened his mouth to speak, but I stopped him before he could start, “Seriously, fucking shut up. I don’t want to hear it!”
Tyler rolled his eyes, and as he began to walk away it spoke to me again, “Don't take that treatment.”
“Don't roll your fucking eyes at me!” I yelled at him, which he didn't respond to, “Fucking answer me!”
“I thought I wasn't supposed to talk.” He sent me an irritated look, before grabbing his cigarettes,
“Yeah, go run to your cigarettes asshat.”
“Don't flatter yourself Cameron, it's just the nicotine.” He waved the cigarette box, before turning the corner. Preston looked at me, and frowned.
“That was kind of uncalled for…” Ami muttered,
“I don't give a shit Ami, so please, shut the fuck up.”
“O-Okay…” They mumbled as Preston pulled himself up, and went out with Tyler,
“Are you good dude?” I heard him ask,
“Yeah?”
“You sure?”
“Yes. I don't know why I wouldn't be.”
“Well, he kinda snapped at you, and I really don't know where your mind is, so…”
“Oh, well I'm good… I don't really care about him, which sounds really bad, but I don't mean it like that. It's just that my fucked brain has put everyone else in some universe as far away as they can get…”
“What about me?”
“I… don't know.” There was a long pause, “I'm sorry…”
“No, I get it. It's just the way your brain is wired.” Preston sighed,
“You can understand and still be upset about things.”
“Yeah, I might be a little upset, but it's dumb. I know you can’t help it.”
“It's not dumb… If it helps, I know that you're a damn lot closer than anyone else, since I don't think I'd want to cuddle or hold hands with someone I don't really know.”
“...Does that mean your demiromantic?”
“What's that?”
“It's when you need to be close with people to form romantic attraction to someone.”
“I mean, I don't think so… I don't think I feel romantic attraction to you, I think I just feel a hell lot closer to you… Like that one word you used… um… alterous I think?”
“Maybe your quoiromantic? You don't really know if you experience romantic attraction or not?”
“Yeah, that sounds right actually…” Tyler muttered, before yawning.
“Are you tired?”
“I'm always tired.”
“I mean are you tired more than you usually are?”
“Yeah… Which is stupid, I just slept for five hours…”
“You're really behind on sleep dude. It's completely reasonable.”
“That's true.” Tyler came around the corner, dropped the cigarettes back, and collapsed onto the mattress. Preston curled up next to him, wrapping both of his arms, and one of his legs around Tyler.
Not long after, Tyler managed to fall asleep, which actually made him look at peace for once. Preston slowly let go of him, before turning to me, “Hey, are you doing better?”
“No.” I sighed, “I think it's getting worse.”
“Why's that?”
“I don't know…”
“That's okay. I hope you start to feel better.”
“Yeah, thanks.” I sent him a weak smile, and he smiled back at me.
