As the two girls were sitting side by side on class, Xoa gained Sage's attention and whispered "i really need to talk to you about something." Sage instantly knew that what Xoa needed to talk about related to Niko. Its all the three girls had been able to think of. None of them could understand how their best friend could walk away and not even say goodbye.
It wasnt until that afternoon that Coa could finally confess to Sage. The conversation began over Pinterest with Xoa warning Sage that what she was about to admit may change Sage's opinion of her. Sage assured the shorter girl that she will always care for her, no matter what. Typing furiously, Xoa told Sage how Niko had confessed to having an attraction towards her while she was on a trip to Qeensland, and they had secretly been together ever since.
It was at this point that Sage understood why Xoa was so heartbroken. She understood why it hurt Xoa so much to see Niko every day at school and be ignored. She understood it all.

Xoa continued to pour out her soul to Sage, reliving the horrible pain and despair she felt over their friendship. After all, they had spent the entire year getting close and inseparable. But all of that was destroyed. It was broken beyond repair. Xoa was holding back her tears as she typed the messages, "She was my first everything. I never expected that that one kiss would be our last. That the hug we had next to the lockers would be the final one i ever get from her. That the chemistry filled eye contact between us will never exist again." Xoa knew it was over. Too much time had passed. She had endured so much pain that stemmed from Niko's leaving. Although Xoa knew Niko walked out of her life probably because she was hurting, she couldn't forget that at one point in time, Niko wouldve known that what she was doing would destroy Xoa, but she did it anyway.
