Along with the positive change in eating habits, came weight gain. Xoa watched herself change, forcing herself to say outloud to herself that it was okay, she was healthy and it was okay to gain weight. She told herself those words every day until she believed it.
Xoa forgave herself for eating and enjoying it. She stopped believing that she had to earn her food with drastic amounts of excersize. But along with her recovery came something she never would have imagined. Through all of the pain, Xoa had found a way to move on from Niko. She let the pain burn away until it didnt hurt anymore and she finally understood that there really were better things in life to think about.
Dean never stopped being abusive. Since the car incident where he had nearly choked Xoa, he had been in another major fight with the family. The fight spawned with no apparent cause, and ended with a broken nose to Xoas mother, and blood tracing the floor where she walked. Dean had hit his mother so hard, causing her nose to disjoint. There was nothing anybody could do. The family never called the police or ambulance, for they were fearful that Dean would be sent to jail. He had already been arrested on several occasions, and this would undoubtedly be the last straw.
The injury caused Xoas mother to have a very bruised nose and double black eye, causing her to hide away from the public for weeks until it healed.
