As recess arrived, Xoa didnt open her bag to retrieve her food like usual. This time, she watched as Sage and Drey got their meals and walked with the two girls to find a table. As the three girls seated themselves to eat, Sage and Drey noticed that Xoa had no food inhand.
"Are you having any recess?" Drey inquired.
Xoa plastered a fake smile, "No im still full from breakfast, i had a lot this morning." Xoa knew she was lying to them, but she couldn't tell them the truth. It would only make them worry.
She couldn't tell her friends how pathetic she was becoming. It made her feel weak, and she didn't want that. She didn't want anyone to know how bad her life had become because of her ex. She wanted to keep those feelings hidden from everyone, and even herself.
Once the bell signaled the end of recess, the three girls arose, each walking towards their classes.
The girls reunited as the lunch hour arrived. Meeting up at the same table, the girls began a conversation about their classes.
Drey eyed Xoa with a confused expression. Lookin at her hands and noticing that they were empty, Drey realized Xoa once again was not eating. Brushing it aside, Drey assumed Xoa had just forgot or had other plans. Xoa looked happy, laughing at something Sage had said.
For some strange reason, that pained Drey greatly. She couldnt help but wonder if her best friend was okay.
All three girls had been stuggling since Niko had been avoiding them. It didnt heal things any faster when Niko began to talk to new people and make new friends. All three girls had felt replaced. The only thing the three girls had to thank Niko for was letting them feel pain and have more trust in eachother, therefore strengthening their friendship.
