As the next morning arrived, Xoa entered the kitchen in her family home, preparing for school. Looking at the cupboard hosting the breakfast food, Xoa felt her stomach, convincing herself that she didnt need the meal. She quickly grabbed her bag and headed to school, her head buried in her bookbag, trying to push all the negativity she had experienced into oblivion. As soon as she arrived at school, her body stiffened and her heartbeat increased due to nervousness.
Sage greeted her at the door to the classroom building. "Morning, Xoa. How are you doing today?" Sage asked politely with a warm smile on her face.
"I'm okay," Xoa said, returning Sage's warm smile and looking straight ahead at nothing in particular.
It was during the second lesson of the day that Xoa's body began to attempt telling her it needed food. This prompted Xoa to stop reading the textbook she was holding and lose herself in her thoughts. "This is okay. this is normal. I deserve this."
"Are you alright?" Sage inquired seeing her friend behaving unusually.
"Yeah, just fine." Xoa answered shortly, trying her hardest to act normal.
"Alright", Sage replied unconvinced that Xoa was totally fine. It was clear that something was wrong. Sage had a feeling that there was something bothering her friend. But she didn't dare ask her.
