"And the fact that you seem so pale, skinny, weak and exhausted...it all adds up." Sage finished.236Please respect copyright.PENANAqSuBc5Vpph
Xoa knee she couldnt hide anymore. All she could do was be honest. Her eyes were glued to the ground as she confessed, "Im sorry...im not good enough."
Drey and Sage exchanged warning glances, unsure how to handle the situation. They knew that things wouldn't be easy for her. Their friend had tried her absolute hardest for years to be the best person she could be for Niko, and having Niko walk away from her was sure to have negative effects.
Drey spoke first. "Listen, Xoa. We're here for you, whenever you need us to" she stated sincerely, placing an arm over Xoa's shoulder. Drey looked into Xoa's teary eyes.
"We love you." Sage said softly.
"We know you're sad....and hurting" Drey said in a light tone, almost whispering.
Xoa gave a brief nod. "We are worried about you...about how sick you are. And how youve stopped eating...your appetite is gone" Sage continued.
Xoa felt horrible that the people who cared about her so much were worried about her illness when she was feeling so terrible herself. But she knew no other way to distract herself from reality. She knew no other way to get rid of the pain.
The logic in Xoas thoughts and actions could never be put into words. She felt that nobody could ever understand how she was feeling. Nobody understood what it was like to have a dead soul inside your stomach, forcing you to spend every day of your life feeling nothing. There was nothing left.
