It was a winters morning when Xoa finally confronted Ayla about her eating habits. Xoa spoke softly as she eased into the topic. "Listen....if anything was going on in your life thats hurting you, you can always tell me. About anything." The sincere expression in Xoa's eyes told Ayla that she had meant what she said. 245Please respect copyright.PENANA3DsxM3P8N5
Xoa contined, "Everyday i watch you skip recess and lunch....how do i know you eat?"
Ayla understood what direction Xoa was taking the conversation. She had no option to lie. "Xoa...I used to not eat at all....i told Sage about it at the time..." She paused, planning her next words. "But please please believe me when i say its over now. I feel really uncomfortable eating infront of other people now, thats all."
Xoa's eyes glistened with sympathy, "You can always trust me with this....Its something i actually umderstand"
Ayla nodded as she looked down and began to twiddle her thumbs nervously. Xoa wrapped the girl in a tight hug, breaking the veil of awkwardness around them.
Xoa thought as she hugged her tightly. "I promise you......i'm going to help you if you let me."
After letting go of the older girl, she looked into her hazel eyes. "Thanks Xoa"
Xoa smiled, knowing she wasn't alone.
"But i have to ask one thing" Ayla began. Xoa looked back at her expectantly. "Why do you skip recess and lunch too?" Xoa remained quiet as she looked away. Generating a quick lie, Xoa bought her eyes to Ayla's with a small smile on her face. "The same reason as you" she said quietly.
