Tyler faced the wall as I changed into, what Tyler called, The Perfect Little Christian Boy My Parents Wanted Outfit. It was kinda funny how much I had learned about him today, and it made me question why I hadn't talked to him sooner. Despite all the depressing things he said, he was good company.
As he brushed my hair with his hands, I took his features in, as my breath only went out. I finally noticed his bright green eyes that contrasted to his dark skin. I realized how messy his bun really was, and how many freckles he had...
Without thinking, I cupped his cheeks in my hands, and pulled him in for a kiss.
"Uhhhhhhhhhh...." Tyler pushed me back,
"Oh shit!" I dashed for the door, but was pulled back,
"Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait! I think that came off the wrong way. I'm just not attracted to you, and you caught me off guard, I don't care if your gay!" Tyler quickly spat,
"Y-You don't?"
"No, my sister's gay, she has an online girlfriend, and I loved the both of them to death. Why should I care?"
"Well, I'm not exactly gay, but a lot of people do, so..."
"I'm not a lot of people... So if you aren't gay, what are you?"
"I dunno, I like both men and women... I think the term is Bisexual? I'm not sure, I always get upset after being in a space for so long."
"Is it because of... what's the word she used? Internalized homophobia?"
"...Uh, hold on, I have to break that down..." I paused for a second, "Oh, yeah, For some reason, probably because of everyone at school, I hate the fact that I like men, and I try and repress it by hooking up with girls at school-"
"I didn't need to know the last part." Tyler retracted himself, clearly grossed out, "Anyways, let's cover the bruise, and get back to my house,"
"Right, yeah." I sighed,
Tyler creaked the door open, "Where the hell were you?!"
"I told you guys I was going to bring my friend over to teach him more about the bible." Tyler anxiously slid through, pulling me with him,
"I don't remember this." His father shook his head, and Tyler bit his lip,
"Well maybe you didn't hear me, but you said yes when I asked."
"We'll talk about this later." He said, and I felt Tyler tense up for a second, but he started upstairs, as if it never happened,
"By talking, what does that mean?"
"Mind your own business, please."
"Well, it kind of is my business, if it's something bad, it's my fault."
"Nah, I brought you over, it's my fault. Seriously, I don't want to talk about it." He scrunched his face, as if he would cry if I forced it out of him,
"Okay... Your room is clean... I thought it would be pretty messy."
"It would be." Tyler laid on the floor, "You can have the bed."
"Why?"
"Because the floor is more comfortable, but I always get in trouble if I sleep on it, but now I have a reason."
"Why is the floor more comfortable? This mattress is great!"
"I'm too tall."
"Can't relate."
"I noticed." He snickered, and I blushed slightly, "You look like a tomato.."
"Shush." I covered my face with my hands, as he continued to tease me, "...In the morning, this never happened?"
"Probably."
"Why probably?"
"Because part of me likes your company, but another part of me hates your guts." I felt my heart throb, but I nodded,
"Yeah, I was kind of a shit, wasn't I?"
"Kind of? Dude, you were nasty." Tyler glared at the ceiling,
"I guess I was... I never thought there's be consequences, or any effect."
"You had a lot of effect." His eyes watered, and he quickly turned away,
"What did I do to you?" I frowned,
"Doesn't matter, that's in the past," He sniffled, "Goodnight."
"G-Goodnight."
