The plan worked. Xoa became interested in the boyband, and became friends with Drey, linking her to Sage also. The four girls became closer. They tried to continue their friendship in the afternoons after school, but it was difficult as only two of the girls, Xoa and Niko, had phones, and Niko's was restricted. To communicate, the girls used the chat function on the pinterest website. Sage didnt use it much in comparison to Drey, Niko and Xoa who used it daily. But when Sage wanted to know what was going on in their lives, they were free to tell her.
It was around the time that the girls started using pinterest to talk that the sneekovers began. Niko and Xoa had a lot of internal problems and were struggling through every day with their undiagnosed illnesses. Both girls began to see only the darkness of the world, but still tried to help each other. Thats why, in the middle of the night, one of the girls would sneak out of their house and cover the eight-block distance between their houses. The girls would sit outside for hours and talk their feelings aeay. They would say the words that they could never say with the audience of the world. The girls became so close, not even Sage or Drey knew about the sneekovers of the girl's problems.
It was during Year 10 of Xoa's schooling that Niko began to see her differently. Xoa was on a trip to queensland with her parents, but talked to Niko through pinterest every day and even stayed up at night to talk about their problems and difficulties.
