Out of all the characters in Danganronpa that I have been through their trials, this is the one person I 100% believe she got what she deserved. The reason why she murdered Hifumi and Taka are just a small thing that I hate about this character. The previous murders of the Killing School life had been crimes of passion where the character lost their head and committed their murder, but Celeste knew exactly what she was doing and there are a few things I cannot forgive. Before anyone says that it's a killing game and rules don't really apply, check your feelings on Sayaka and have a real think about that phrase.
Celestia murdered both Taka and Hifumi, technically having Hifumi murder Taka, all for money and to fulfill her dream with is truly the lamest reason for someone to resort to murder. Celestia was going to use the money she earned from the murder to buy a castle with an army of vampire butlers to serve her every want and need...again, a very stupid reason to murder someone in my opinion. She also felt no remorse for the blood on her hands and was shown to be hypocritical in her previously saying that she didn't mind their new life, and that it wasn't really too bad comparatively.
Hifumi...poor, stupid Hifumi. The very prototypical of a man who will bend over backwards in order to please a girl regardless of how horrible she is to him. She'd asked him to make her some milk tea and not only expressed her disapproval at the way he made it, not knowing that she liked it a certain way, berated him in front of the others and demanded he go and do it "properly." Celeste has other moments where she shows how important she believes she is in comparison to everyone else, and it frankly just got annoying and brought me to disliking the character even before she explained what she'd done. She also used Alter Ego, the group's best chance at getting information from the school database at the time, by hiding the computer. She's self-centered much like Byakuya and is even willing to stoop as low as he does to get what she wants.
Let's now take a look at how she committed her murders. Celestia went to Hifumi and told him that Taka had sexually abused her and threatened her to steal Alter Ego's laptop and blackmailed her with obscene photos he had of her. This strikes a particular note with me that people seem to like Celestia as she lies about Taka, the Ultimate Moral Compass, sexually abusing her just for the sake of money and her own depraved desires. Again, you can say that it's a killing game and that anything goes, but this still doesn't sit well with me as well as a lot of other people regardless of the situation. Worse that she manipulated someone who she herself was belittling and emotionally abusing by demanding things of him and becoming enraged when he didn't do it "right" according to her after not telling him.
I just can't bring myself to like this character, despite the fact that I think they are well written as a villain of the series for lack of a better term. I feel that a lot of the overlooking of how particularly horrid her crime is due to people having her as a waifu and the non-canon manga bringing up that she wanted to see her cat again. Like I said above, this is the only character I have encountered in the series whose trial I have completed that I truly believe they deserved exactly what they got for their crimes. A well written character that I find more reasons to hate them than to actually like them. This feeling isn't limited to her in the series, but my dislike of other characters isn't necessarily an uncommon/unpopular opinion.
