From the title, I imagine a lot of you can see where this is going. I was thinking of what more I could put in here and my thoughts turned to anime and thus, JoJo. Now, I want to make it clear that I don't just not like JoJo because it's popular and mainstream, but I don't think it's nearly as good as everyone says it is. My brother finally got me to watch a bit, and I just really couldn't get into it. I can see why people like, but...I just don't think it's that great.
Another thing that definitely turned me away from it is the fans. I understand that there is a quiet section of fans that are really chill in their enjoyment, but then there's the more vocal fans that get on my nerves. I already have too many fandoms I'm a part of that I have no interest in interacting with because they're toxic, rabid or both. I got tired of seeing "Is that a JoJo reference?" on anything and everything and the memes irl. I'm a quiet enjoyer of things, and seeing people like that be what most people think of when they think of what I like makes me roll my eyes and want to die.
On the thing where I said I didn't like it because I was popular, I want to say I do like things that are/were popular. My first anime was Black Butler, which I enjoyed, and I currently need to finish FMA Brotherhood. I think JoJo, much like a few other series, is a victim of overhyped from the fans. It's not a bad anime, but I don't think it's as amazing as everyone says it is.
