A guy was standing alone by himself in one empty room.
"Why had I gone along? Why had I obeyed Kromer-better even than I had ever obeyed my father? Why had I invented the story, building myself up with a crime as though it were a heroic act?"
He turned around with a smile as soon as his mask fell off.
"The devil held me in his clutches, the enemy was behind me."
.....
Her eyes fluttered open after she woke up from a strange dream and got a minor headache. She wondered how they got so famous. Maybe it wasn't just their hard work and success throughout their lives. Maybe it was something else. She was clearing up her blurry vision and saw two guys talking to each other audibly with their arms crossed.
"Mark from GOT7 was part of this?" Jimin repeated.
"Certainly," Bryan confirmed.
"I always thought he was a chill type of guy who is friends with everybody," Jimin quirked an eyebrow confusedly.
"Maybe not. I mean, he's barely anonymous compared to the other guests. Whatever his reason was, he still has a connection with Sehun and the rest of the EXO members," Bryan explained.
"You're right," Jimin agreed, then paused for a moment to look at him and asked. "Can you do me a small favour? Will you thank Valerie for saving me?"
"Of course," a voice startled him and Bryan to glance at her direction. She was smiling calmly at them, much to their surprise.
"You're awake!" Bryan exclaimed.
Valerie rolled her eyes and scoffed a little. "Yeah. How long have I been unconscious?"
"Two days, Val," Bryan came over to her side and hugged her, muffling against her shoulder gladly. "Thank goodness. You're okay."
"Ow, ow! I'm still wounded, you know," Valerie groaned in pain as she clutched on her upper body.
Bryan quickly let go of her and muttered when he looked down on her. "Sorry."
"It's okay," Valerie smiled warmly and turned her attention towards Jimin, who was staring back at her awkwardly and waved.
"Hey..." he greeted.
"Hi..." she responded back weakly.
"Thanks for saving me out there. If it wasn't for you, I think I would've ended up in one of those beds," Jimin said shyly, rubbing the back of his head.
"No worries. It's my job to protect you and the others," Valerie nodded slightly.
"I owe you, though," Jimin murmured.
"Oh, you don't have to. It's fine, really," Valerie giggled.
"Alright. Thanks again... I'll see you guys around, then," Jimin bowed his head down and silently walked away as they were both watching him leave the hospital room.
Bryan, on the other hand, slowly faces Valerie and raises his eyebrow teasingly at her with a smug expression on his face. He was indicating what he just witnessed between them.
She noticed the obvious and widened her eyes, pointing out to him. "No. That is not what you think. Forget it."
"Okay..." Bryan sang gleefully and whistled, which made his best friend roll her eyes at him annoyingly.
"So what happened to Sehun?" Valerie asked curiously.
"He's being investigated in jail right now, including Mark," Bryan said calmly.
"I see. What were they attempting to do? From what I've been observing, EXO and GOT7 are mostly targeting BigHit's groups," Valerie stated sternly.
"Possibly money, but too easy to say. I'm sure there is more than what meets the eye, don't you think?" Bryan answered thoughtfully.
Valerie didn't respond back for a moment as she was gazing off onto the ceiling.
"Don't worry, I'll figure this case out," Bryan said reassuringly.
"You mean 'we?'" Valerie implied correctly.
"No. You need to take a rest and lay low. Plus, I've never done most of the work. You did your part already and now it's my turn to do it," Bryan explained firmly.
Valerie looked at him blankly before smiling at him. "Thank you..."
Abruptly, the background music from the TV screen startled them when they saw the news about the wanted criminals promptly firing gunshots inside the Business Event Hall.
"They are identified as K-pop stars named Sehun from EXO and Mark from GOT7. The police say that these two are conspiring together to initially target the CEO of Fairview Park Corporations, Park Jimin. There will be no updates until further notice," The reporter lady described while she shuffled the documents neatly and folded her hands to head onto the topic. "The Samsung electronics are beginning to increase the sales where millions of users are buying them around the country..."
Bryan sighed placidly and glanced back, saying. "You stay here and recover, alright?"
"Absolutely," Valerie nodded as her lips formed into a thin line.
Bryan nodded and left the hospital building right afterward. In his mind, he knew how much Valerie's dedicated to solving the cases all on her own and criminology has become one of her interests at heart. However, he wasn't entirely sure if that job was competent or not.
Later on at midnight, Jimin opened the door in his mansion and asked one of the housemaids to run him a few errands. Then, he walked up to the stairs and into his bedroom. Once he stepped inside, his eyes blinked twice at Chia, who was already wearing nothing but a silky red bathrobe.
"What took you so long?" She asked, pouting.
"I had to visit some of my friends..." Jimin answered quietly and sat down on the edge of their bed until he felt her hands moving on his arms and leaving a trail of kisses on his neck and face.
He turned around to face her and was about to kiss her, then he became shocked when Chia started to straddle him with her legs put between his waist. She unbuttoned his shirt and placed her hands upon his chest.
But Jimin decided to flip her over on her back against the mattress and leaned in forward to give a quick peck on her nose, saying. "Not now, baby..."
Chia looked at him blankly and didn't move as her arms dropped down.
He slowly rolled and collapsed back down onto his left side where he pulled the blanket, yawning in fatigue, and murmured. "We'll do it some other time..."
Contrarily, Chia sat down in her sitting position as she noticed his odd behavior and became unsatisfied with their supposedly heating session that was supposed to continue further. She began to wonder what actually changed his mind. Though she didn't want to question him, she simply shrugged it off and replied with a puzzled expression. "Goodnight..." She laid down and switched off the lamp on the nightstand before dozing off to sleep.
Yet, his eyes were still open as he stared absentmindedly into space, recalling back to those moments that only he can keep to himself.
