The ambulances, fire trucks, paramedics, and police cars had parked outside in the main entrance area where they arrested EXO for their plagiarism, drug-dealing, theft, and kidnapping. Valerie was currently talking to the police and saw Kai with his wrists locked in handcuffs.
He glanced in her direction as his expression began to change, warning her. "Just you wait..."
Valerie raised her eyebrows in puzzlement and said. "No thanks... You deserve to rot in jail."
"No, no Val. You got it all wrong. Trust me, what you see is what you get. Do not do it! Let go of me!" Kai yelled frantically as he tried to break free from the police.
Valerie looked at him strangely, then heard voices coming from the entrance of the empty building. She quickly glanced over her shoulder and informed the police calmly. "I got to go now..."
"You alright?" He asked.
"Totally. I'm all good," Valerie said reassuringly with a grin.
"Okay, but you have a few bruises on your right arm and leg. Are you sure you don't want to go to the hospital to get treated?" The police questioned in concern.
"It's okay. I'll take it from here. I'll be fine on my own, plus I have a ride anyways," Valerie reminded quietly.
"I see. Well, best of luck. Take care, Ms. Nown," the police bowed his head down a little and shook his hand with hers. "Nice working with you."
"You're welcome, chief," Valerie chirped. She started to walk away rapidly and tilted her head down to avoid any eye contact from the others.
The rest of the men were smiling and gave each other high fives triumphantly.
"We got the diamonds back and we should return them to Mr. Si-hyuk," Joshua notified.
"Man, I can't believe we actually defeated them this time," Hoseok gawked in amazement.
"Including the evidence too. What's in the camcorder?" Jin wondered.
"Your past videos of you and EXO," Jeonghan answered, handing it to Namjoon.
He took it gently in a careful examination without responding back.
"They recorded some of you guys and everything you've worked for previously," Mingyu pointed out.
"Thank you, guys. This really means a lot to us," Yoongi said smilingly.
"No problem. Besides, we're all friends here," Woozi shrugged and smirked in contentment.
Jin and Hoseok exchanged fists bumps with Seungkwan, Hoshi, and Xu Minghao.
"What made you guys decide to rescue us?" Taehyung asked gladly.
Vernon stared at him as he recalled back at the moment.
FLASHBACK:
"Before we head off, I need to tell you something," Valerie muttered tacitly.
Vernon and his friends nodded in silence as they waited for her to respond.
"I hope you don't mind about this request if it's not too heedless,..." She sighed as she closed her eyes before reopening them to continue on. "Please, do not tell my friend Bryan and the seven young men that it was I, who contacted the officials and the medical team. I simply do not want to become an albatross to them. Therefore, I don't think I see myself being part of their lives anymore, so take my credit."
"Why not? Isn't it better for you to fix your problems with your friends?" Joshua became worried.
"I've tried, but this is the last straw..." Valerie retorted.
Joshua gazed at her anxiously as well as the others, except for Vernon understood it without questioning any further.
END OF FLASHBACK
He faltered a smile and said. "It was us who found you guys on the news quite often. We figured Kai and his friends were criminals, so we were willing to save you from danger."
Bryan, on the other hand, was observing him by the dubious tone of his voice. He wasn't really buying into it and questioned. "It's such a coincidence because I know for a fact that you don't get involved in this sort of stuff. I'm impressed by your tracking skills."
"Yup. We used an app," Vernon chuckled as he rubbed the back of his head.
On the other hand, Junhui squinted his eyes, glancing back and forth between them in observation. He joked teasingly with a chortle. "Am I the only one who thinks you two are more like long-lost twins?"
Yoongi and Woozi tried to stifle their laughter in amusement until one of them spoke out.
"Hey, everybody says that a lot. No, we just happened to be looking similar," Yoongi answered, chuckling.
"It's uncanny," Junhui grinned with a nod. His eyes widened when the wound in his arm was stinging and yelped. "Argh!"
"You okay there?" Woozi asked in concern.
"Hmm," Junhui nodded as he clutched his arm comfortingly. He went up to the medic, who wrapped the gauze bandage delicately around it.
"We'll watch the rest of the stuff later. There's so many of them," Namjoon noted, skipping through the content on the screen. He shut the camcorder, then got startled by someone else's voice.
The police officer patted them on the shoulder, asking. "You, young men, doing okay here?"
Jimin blinked in surprise and said warmly. "Yes, we are. Thank you for the help, chief."
"No worries. It is my duty to protect you all and I will risk my life for those who are in need," the police said.
"Well, I'm giving you this," Jimin said, giving him $400 cash for the task he completed.
"Oh no, young man. Keep it," the police said light-heartedly.
"You deserve it," Jimin said, smirking.
The police kindly took it and shook his hands before patting him on the back.
"Looks like our work here is done. We've got rehearsals to do..." S.Coups informed with a smile.
"We'll keep in touch with you," DK said coolly.
"Of course. See you," Namjoon smirked and they all bid farewell with wave gestures.
Jimin slowly turned around to face the others. He was glad their wounds and bruises were being treated by the medics. A masked hooded figure was staring at them from afar. They swiftly left the scene, whereas Jimin began to notice in startlement. He narrowed his eyes uneasily with his mouth gape open.
"Chim, you alright? Your face looks like you've seen a ghost," Hoseok queried skeptically and continued on. "Seriously, I often see you spacing out."
"You're right. Sorry, I probably need some sleep," Jimin fluttered his eyes and shook his head dismissively.
"What you need is a drink," Hoseok chuckled and lightly patted him.
"Let's go and take the van," Jin notified, much to their agreement.
Jimin was following them behind closely. He then took another glimpse of the spot where the masked hooded figure was standing and wondering who could it be.
Later on, at Yongsan District, they settled down and were discussing inside the conference room. The BigHit assistants brought out the projector and turned on the screen, initially connecting the wiring to the USB portal.
Everyone was facing the white wall before dimming out the lights. They watched every single video for an hour and a half.
Taehyung and Hoseok became a bit teary, whereas Jimin and Jungkook remained silent for the duration of that moment. Each of them felt mixed emotions and they started to realize how much they were caught up in their own selves.
"Thank you so much for returning the diamonds back to where they belong. They are now secured inside this vault," Mr. Si-hyuk said joyfully, pressing the button on the remote to close the cabinet doors. He surveyed the mini camcorder that was owned by Royen. He widened his eyes in shock, saying. "I didn't notice him at all. I guess there were so many staff members in our company and I could've acknowledged him before."
"We feel mutual as well. We did not know he was one of the people we neglected the most," Namjoon pointed out with a dismayed look.
"Was it you who called the officials and medical teams?" Mr. Si-hyuk asked Bryan.
"No. It was Seventeen," he answered, furrowing his eyebrows deeply in thought.
"Those guys? How did they find your location while the rest of you were held captive?" Mr. Si-hyuk asked blankly.
"Uh... I don't know, actually," Bryan muttered faintly. He looked sideways in a dumbfounded expression.
"Ah. That's okay. At least, everyone is safe," Mr. Si-hyuk nodded and clapped his hands in delight. He began to notice Jimin's expression was vacant in a slump position, not moving a single inch.
"My fiance, Chia, is in custody," he murmured slightly.
"How so?" Mr. Si-hyuk became bewildered.
"She conspired with Kai and apparently, they were together ever since..." Jimin trailed off of his words, sighing in despondency.
"It's alright, buddy," Jin said as he comforted him on the shoulder with reassurance.
Jimin gazed down silently off into space, whereas Taehyung spoke out.
"I'm sure there is someone out there for you..."
"Yeah. I mean, it's not the end of the world. You shouldn't dwell on your relationship just because your fiancé hasn't been considerate of you," Taehyung explained.
"Former fiancé," Hoseok corrected, pointing his finger up.
"Right... Anyway, I'm sorry for doubting and beating you up before. I should've investigated the security cameras carefully when I should've known they were edited," Jimin said frustratingly as he raked his fingers through his hair.
"You don't need to be sorry. I understand how protective you were with her. Actually, I should be the one who is sorry to you and Jungkook. I didn't realize I was too gullible towards EXO..." Taehyung sighed remorsefully.
"No worries..." Jungkook said with a genuine smile.
"Guys, that's alright. What's done is done. You can't change what happened," Namjoon reminded.
"Yeah. I'm happy that we're all here instead of ignoring each other," Yoongi said.
"I agree. I've learned that all those challenges we face as a group help us become more inseparable," Jin described profoundly.
"You are not wrong about that," Hoseok said smiling.
"So what do you guys want, then?" Namjoon asked quizzically until he saw Jimin bringing his hand out.
Taehyung and Jungkook also noticed as they apprehended what he was doing. They reciprocated when they placed them on top of one another in the center, much to Mr. Si-hyuk's surprise. 349Please respect copyright.PENANA4vidFHi5e1
