Okay, this is only one time I've added two pictures of Valerie and Bryan wearing their dress and suit. I don't like adding pictures in each chapter. :P
Once Bryan went home a few hours later, he started calling out his friend.
"Val! I'm back!"
"Yeah?!" Her voice muffled in reply as she was rummaging through the clothes in the wardrobe, throwing them off to the floor.
Bryan peered over to the side and questioned weirdly at her sudden haste. "What are you doing there and why are you in such a hurry?"
"The letter is on the kitchen table. Read it," Valerie answered shakily.
Bryan glanced at the small envelope blankly, then pulled the card out and scanned the words in astonishment. His jaw dropped a little unexpectedly. "What?! He's inviting you to the party?! But that's only for rich people like him."
"I know right and hey, you're coming too!" Valerie exclaimed.
"I can't go. Formality is never my thing. I'm a simple dude," Bryan emphasized, gesturing his arms out to himself.
"Then, I'll just look for someone else. It's up to you," Valerie chuckled dryly and mumbled. "So much for missing out."
"Okay, fine. Man..." Bryan groaned dully and asked. "So what are we going to wear?"
"Good question. I think we're going to go to a shop that has a different set of styles of dresses and suits because most of the stores that we went to are too local," Valerie stated.
"I know a place..." Bryan snapped his finger and continued on. "But you have to promise me not to complain."
"Why would I?" Valerie scoffed funnily.
Two hours later...
Both of them stood in front of Floralistique that was about to close due to less sanitary, customers, and low income. They took an examination on the small building that was turning a bit rusty and obsolete.
Valerie raised her eyebrow in wonder, asking. "Is this the right place?"
"It is. Shall we enter?" Bryan beamed.
"We shall," Valerie agreed as they both walked in through the door and saw a bunch of the clothes and accessories covered in white blankets.
They saw the owner, who appears to be in his 60's, wearing spectacles that were a little crooked.
"Ah. To what do I owe you this fine evening?" He greeted them.
"We want to know if you have any spare dress and suit because we are attending a party," Bryan informed kindly.
The old man nodded, then lightly snapped and pointed his finger up as he went to the storage room, bringing two boxes onto the table. He ripped the flaps open and his expression became crestfallen. Then, he reassured them with a smile and said. "Don't worry, I'll have them ready by tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. sharp."
Valerie raised both of her eyebrows in surprise, slowly saying. "Okay. Thank you, sir!"
"That's totally great, Mr. Daechi," Bryan gave him a curt nod.
"Hmm..." he responded, then he hovered his gaze at Valerie and approached her when he placed his hand on top of hers. He began to feel more worried when he was observing her carefully. "Young lady... What is your name?"
"Valerie," she answered, still staring at him blankly.
Mr. Daechi nodded in confirmation and glanced at Bryan, advising him in a warning. "Dear boy... You must take good care of her. Don't lose sight of what is important."
Bryan looked at him oddly and replied a little hesitantly. "I will, Mr. Daechi."
Mr. Daechi added in with a slight chuckle. "One thing that you should always keep in mind is to keep close to each other. Hehe, sorry if I spooked you. I couldn't help but feel something. I admit I'm reaching old age. You are both young and try to enjoy more before it's gone."
The two of them nodded in understanding until one of them spoke out.
"Thanks for the advice," Valerie smiled sweetly and bowed down before walking out the door. "See you soon!"
On the contrary, Bryan paused for a moment and wondered in confusion as he asked. "Sir. What do you mean by those words you've told me?"
Mr. Daechi gazed at him knowingly and answered. "You will see. Well, I'll prepare your orders now."
"Alright. See you..." Bryan said as he pursed his lips in puzzlement, then turned around and exited.
The next morning came when the alarm started to buzz off at 7:00 am and he pressed the dismiss button on his phone before getting up from his bed. He changed into his navy white t-shirt, along with his black bomber light jacket, and wore comfortable denim jeans. He went over to the other room and knocked loudly. "Val! We got to go and pick them up now."
Valerie groaned tiredly and sat up in a sitting position in her bed. She yawned and stretched her arms at the same time. "I'll be there in just a minute... Jeez."
She blinked a couple of times and headed over to the washroom to go and get dressed. She was wearing black jeans and a light pink t-shirt with baby pink Nike shoes. They drove to the east side of Seoul, which was almost an hour away from their apartment, and finally arrived at their destination in a Floralistique shop. The two of them walked in and greeted Mr. Daechi, who gave them the two garment bags forward with a serene smile on his face.
"You kids have fun and be careful out there," he said.
"Of course. Thanks again, Mr. Daechi!" Bryan beamed with a grin and waved after paying him as soon as they left.
Both he and Bryan had spent their time finding other clothes for a backup plan since they are going under disguise. Their objective was to track down EXO and GOT7 if they have any malicious schemes that they are going to plot. After all, other K-Pop idols will be joining the event and there is no way that they will let them get away again.
Elsewhere inside Jimin's mansion, he was adjusting his white collar and tie firmly while he was standing in front of the mirror. He sighed to himself when he was anxiously thinking about meeting his father. It's been four years since they've spoken to each other about the business, especially his former group. All he can do right now is to make sure that he does well in his speech. Mostly, his entire presentation.
"Babe! Are you ready?!" Chia called out.
"Yeah. I'm almost done," Jimin replied, tilting his head so she could hear.
"Okay. I'll be waiting in the limo," Chia reminded.
Jimin was shifting the dark blue suit with his hands and ruffled his hair through his fingers. He firmly gripped onto the jacket and nodded confidently at himself, then left the bedroom.
During the afternoon, many guests arrived at the entrance of the Business Event Hall, which was very outspread and clean. They all greeted one another and shook hands where the chattering had begun to heighten moderately. The K-Pop idols also did the same thing after bowing down respectfully and were silently protected by their security guard around them.
The engaged couple, Jimin and Chia, recently came in while his arm was holding onto her waist. The photographers were flashing their cameras at them, whereas the guests acknowledged them in awe.
"Wow. You two are quite dashing," one of them complimented.
"Thank you," Chia said, grinning.
"So when is the wedding?" She asked excitedly.
"Oh! It's-" Chia was about to answer, but got interrupted.
"No, not yet. We are waiting until next year," Jimin said calmly.
Chia glanced at him confusedly and grinned. "Babe, you said that we will be married by the next five months."
"Aye... I'll leave you two alone for that discussion. I got to meet up with the others. See you around," she said, awkwardly walking away from them.
Chia gaped her mouth and confronted her fiance. "What was that? Didn't we come to an agreement?"
"No. Why? You want to get married by the fall?" Jimin queered, raising an eyebrow with a chuckle.
"Duh. I just want us to be official," Chia giggled.
"Aren't we?" Jimin pointed out.
"Yes, we are. It's just you've been so preoccupied with your work," Chia pouted sadly.
"Baby, you know I was fighting for that position as a project manager. That project can help our business grow and let's not forget that you were away for a week," Jimin reasoned out.
Chia rolled her eyes in annoyance and scoffed. "But there are so many opportunities for you to pursue a project or better yet, creating one. Why waste time on this Festival thing?"
Jimin stared at her and questioned. "Are you saying that it's impractical?"
"I don't know. You have to ask yourself that," Chia shrugged.
Jimin blinked his eyes and sighed softly. "I'm asking you, though. I know my answer. I'm just curious to know what yours is."
Suddenly, they heard two voices coming from the entrance doors. Bryan walked in wearing the dark navy blue suit.
He glanced at the people that were looking at him in amazement.
"Shit. I never expected a couple of stares setting onto me like that..." he gulped nervously and grinned, making two girls blush and giggle to themselves. He turned over his shoulder, calling out his friend. "Val?"
As soon as she stepped in, she looked up at the front and paused for a moment to see that many people were staring at her as well. Valerie smiled naturally and didn't feel any nervousness at all since she was used to attending public places with her family and friends. Although for Bryan, he was much more introverted than her.
"Wow, who is that girl? She's so stunning," One of the guys near the engaged couple exclaimed.
Jimin's eyes were glistening back and forth at the sight of Valerie in a beautiful elegant V-neck light blue dress with floral beading.
His expression became a little dazed while he was breathing deeply. Then, he got startled hastily and cleared his throat, looking away.
"They look like a lovely couple," Chia said smiling warmly at them.
"Actually, there are just friends," Jimin corrected.
"How do you know that? Have you met them before?" Chia wondered.
"Yes, I have. Both of them are private detectives," Jimin answered.
"I see..." Chia murmured softly and furrowed her eyebrows in curiosity. Her eyes landed on the big figure that was slowly approaching them.
"Ah. Well, if it isn't my son with my future-daughter-in-law?" He said smiling.
"Father..." Jimin greeted and bowed down, then they shook their hands together formally.
"Great to see you. How are you these days?" Mr. Park asked.
"I'm doing good. How was the flight from Taiwan to here?" Jimin made a small grin.
"The usual. I've been signing all this paperwork and dealing with people's contracts lately. How about you? Did you win the project?" Mr. Park pondered.
"Yes, I have. It's about a Festival. My group and I have decided to come up with a charity booth that supports children's education and private schools, along with the entertainment and fun games," Jimin explained.
"Hmm... I'm proud of you. You're finally in a stepping milestone," Mr. Park stated, much to his son's astounding. He patted him on the shoulder and walked away. "Keep it up. You don't want to disappoint our family name. We'll meet later again."
"Yes, father," Jimin nodded firmly in understanding as he and Chia watched him interact with the other business guests. However, he was somewhat a little daunted by the way he spoke to him.
