Bryan and Jungkook stared at each other in clarification and checked the time on the clock.
"Should we go now?" Jungkook asked eagerly.
"Yes," Bryan answered and the two of them began to crawl silently on the carpeted floor. They took the empty bottles and the pistol steadily.
The boss, on the other hand, was watching the rain falling down into several droplets. "That was indeed satisfying. Too bad. Valerie Nown is already in hell by now. What a waste of her beauty..."
"Sir Kai! Sir Kai!" One of his subordinates called out as he was jogging at a quick pace.
"Hm?" He lowered his glass of vodka from his lips and glanced at him.
"There was no sign of her," he stated.
"What do you mean?" Kai questioned in puzzlement.
"The others and I have scanned the insides of the cabin. Unfortunately, there is a bit of a problem..." his subordinate muttered hesitantly.
"What is it?" Kai urged calmly.
"Um... I..." he made a little long pause in thought.
"Tell me!" Kai demanded.
"I... I saw Valerie escape and I believe she's with Mr. Park Jimin..." His subordinate answered nervously.
Kai glared at him and questioned in a sneer with his clenched teeth.
"I don't know. I just saw them running and Jimin was the one who got her out of there..." His subordinate explained.
Kai was puffing in and out of his chest and growled agitatedly before he abruptly slammed the glass on the floor. He screamed vehemently by saying. "This is fucked!!"
A couple of men flinched by the pieces of shards scattered on the floor where a few of them started to clean up using the bathroom towels.
Kai turned his head towards his subordinate and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. He pointed his finger at him accusingly. "You, Mingyeo! I told you to double-check!"
"Sir Kai, I did! I-it's not my fault that they escaped so fast. I-I never knew Mr. Park would go out there to rescue her..." he stammered frighteningly as he raised his hands up in defense. He shut his eyes and begged. "Please, don't kill me!"
Kai held him and slowly leaned in with a death glare, but he decided to let go of him. He breathed through his nostrils and raked his hair through his fingers. "You better make sure that she doesn't get away next time. Otherwise, your ass will be the one getting fucking incinerated and disposed of... Now, go find them!"
Mingyeo nodded in understanding and whimpered as soon as he left. The other men were standing quietly and watched Kai rubbing the side of his temples.
"Sir, what are we going to do then?" His second subordinate asked in concern.
He sighed tiredly and faced the landscape of Jeju Island after the fire was burnt out by the heavy rain. "For now, we will retreat and move onto the next procedure. Hmph. That Park Jimin... The guy is starting to drive me insane. No matter. Soon, he will be the one to suffer."
Then, he raised up his glass and drank the rest of them until it became empty. He gulped it down and smirked menacingly and determinedly in mind. Scoffing to himself, he began to walk inside the room without realizing that Bryan and Jungkook were hiding in the closet after they overheard him.
"I'm heading off to take a nap. Wake me up when we reach back to Seoul," he reminded them.
"Yes, sir!" They replied firmly in unison and walked away from him as they all headed outside.
Contrarily, Bryan and Jungkook were still grabbing onto the objects they were carrying in their hands, especially the tranquilizer and pistol guns.
Bryan was observing Kai remove his shoes and placed them on the side of the mirror. He placed the weapon through the closet door to carefully aim his back.
"Steady..." Jungkook advised in a whisper.
Once Bryan took his shot at Kai's back twice, his eyes widened at his sudden reaction. Kai's eyelids were beginning to lose consciousness and collapsed in his bed.
Jungkook blinked twice and said surprisingly. "Dude, that was good!"
Bryan chuckled a little and tilted his head to move on the right. "Thanks. Come on, let's hurry."
Jungkook nodded in agreement as they slowly slid the closet door and peeked their heads out cautiously. They stood up straight and looked at each other.
"We got to inform the police officers," Jungkook pointed out.
"Yeah, because they are-" Bryan didn't get to finish his sentence when he got startled at the loud voices yelling behind them.
"Hey! What are you intruders doing here?!" One of the subordinates exclaimed as he and the others pointed their guns towards them.
"Put your hands up in the air!" The fourth one instructed firmly.
Bryan and Jungkook raised them while they were moving their eyes to the corner to see them approach. They were being circled around and examined to see if they have any weapons in their bodies.
Suddenly, Bryan twisted the man's arm and kicked his heel towards his face aggressively. Jungkook followed along as he started pummeling the rest of them with his tight fists. Both of them used the tranquilizer gun and smack the empty bottles against their heads to knock them right out.
As soon as the group of men fell down on the floor instantly, Bryan and Jungkook became relieved and went to the pilothouse. They went in front of the panels and controlled them at ease where they activated the windshield to wipe off the raindrops from the glass windows.
"We have to speed up," Bryan noted.
"Right," Jungkook agreed and received a message from his phone in astonishment. He read it aloud while holding it in front of his face. "Jimin texted. He says he's alright, including Valerie."
"Ah...! Thank goodness. Holy shit, I thought something bad happened to her. Jimin is the best," Bryan sighed in relief and smiled.
Jungkook stared off into space with a slow nod and furrowed his eyebrows out of curiosity. "Yeah... He always is, but how was he able to find where she is?"
Bryan glanced at him weirdly and said. "No idea. Though that's a good question. We'll meet up with them later once we arrive back in the city."
Jungkook hummed in response and used his thumbs on the digital keyboard to reply back to his best friend's text.
At the same time in a different yacht, Jimin looked back on his phone and gladly agreed to tell Jungkook.
Valerie, alternately, was standing near the deck railing as she continued to stare at the ocean absentmindedly, whilst comforting herself. She became worn out after the long run she had. She exhaled out and remained silent for the rest of the ride, but Jimin noticed her behavior and approached her.
"Valerie..." he called out and placed his hands on her shoulders. He tilted his head sideways to check her face and asked reassuringly. "Hey, you alright?"
Valerie crossed her arms and nodded placidly with a smile of certainty. "Hmm."
"You're still trembling... You know, you can tell me what happened back there if you're comfortable," Jimin said.
Spring Day's Chorus: "And how long do I have to wait?
How many sleepless nights do I have to take,
To finally see you (Too see you)
To meet you (Only you)..."
Valerie looked down and closed her eyes as soon as her tears dropped down on her cheeks. She covered her face when she started to sob silently with the hollow gasps in which Jimin embraced her with his arms consolingly back and forth.
"I'm here, alright? You're safe now," he murmured and continued on to mention a funny story about him. He gently raised her chin up before he placed his forehead against hers. "If it makes you feel any better, I accidentally raised up my right leg into a 90-degree angle and hit the side of my head, so I fell off the chair once. This time in a dog's poop."
Ending: "Passing by the edge of this winter
At least until the change of the weather
When spring comes and flowers bloom
Just stay until then
Please stay and wait a little more..."
Valerie started to giggle as her eyes opened, then closed it. Jimin gazed at her and chuckled in amusement. Thus, their foreheads stayed against each other for a little duration of the period.
